We loved the location, atmosphere, service and friendly staff. The sunrise and sunset from the villa were breathtaking. Since we stayed only two nights, the restaurant and services are limited. It was not clear when we booked the hotel.

Average facilities and service

I came to this island after seeing numerous blogger recommendations, but it actually fell short of my expectations. First, the service wasn't as good as advertised. The VIP lounge at the airport is tiny, with only three tables. Even so, the speedboat to the island took ages, and a family of three was left behind. They went to the restroom and missed the boat, and no one bothered to see them. Then, the boat sailed away, and their luggage was taken away... It was outrageous. Didn't they even check their own guests? If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed they were so unreliable. Next, my experience on the island: the staff weren't as friendly and welcoming as they appear in popular videos. They weren't at all honest, except for the tips. Furthermore, the service deteriorated with more people. One butler was responsible for many people, and they were overwhelmed by the many requests. There were only one or two Chinese-speaking butlers, but they were rarely seen, so it was far from the hype. The room service wasn't as attentive and attentive as advertised. As for the food, there are five restaurants: the main restaurant, the Beijing restaurant, the Indian restaurant, the underwater restaurant, and a lobby bar with a Western restaurant. We mostly ate in the main restaurant, which is quite comprehensive, but the selection isn't extensive and the taste is average. The free-flowing drinks are also quite limited. The Beijing and Indian restaurants are practically next to each other, sharing a small, windy space that made dining uncomfortable. The worst part was the underwater restaurant, a gimmick, but incredibly small. The dining area is cramped, with two people squeezed into a small booth. There are only a few tables in the circle, and the space is tiny. The windows are so fuzzy that you can't see clearly. Calling it an underwater restaurant is a bit of a deception. There's a lobby bar with some pizza and fries, which is convenient, but I only spent a short time there while waiting to check in. As for the accommodation, the sand bungalows are buggy, the water bungalows are rough, and the slide bungalows are just a simple slide next to the bungalow. Each bungalow has its own advantages. The snorkeling is average, with few fish to be seen, but the panoramic view of the Maldives Blue is definitely worth it.

Although there is some seaweed in the sea, the staff cleans it every day, which does not affect the holiday experience at all. The standards of several restaurants are very good, and the taste is great, especially the Indian restaurant, which is the best curry I have ever eaten. The room cleaning guy is also worthy of praise. He will replenish your drinks, chocolate snacks and any room supplies you need every day. I stayed at Ozen as a "transit" hotel because I had to board a plane the next day. It rained heavily on the first day we checked in, and the housekeeper had to serve several groups of people.
