Ok for singles and friends group travel, plain small rooms with a small fan. It is an old jail converted into a hotel. Had a good nights sleep though. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

The staff were generally young, enthusiastic, and attentive. Self-check-in is possible, but I couldn't. I asked the front desk, and they said they would do it for me. Haha, I hadn't thought it was possible to do it manually. Check-in went smoothly.
The location is great, a 10-minute walk from Lucerne Train Station and the cruise ship terminal, passing the Chapel Bridge and the bustling commercial district.
The room was small, but it had a convenient bathroom and shower. I initially thought the hostel wasn't suitable for families, but I discovered it was mostly occupied by families.

The hotel is a prison converted hotel. The rooms are small and poorly ventilated. Even with a fan, it was still very hot and stuffy in the middle of the night. I booked a twin room, but was given a king-size bed upon check-in. It took a long time to talk to the front desk before we were able to change the room.

This hotel, reportedly a converted prison, boasts a prime location, just a short walk from the Chapel Bridge and the train station, making it very convenient for getting around. Luggage storage is available (though it wasn't registered, and it was fine). The room was naturally small, a bit like a basic dorm, with barely adequate space. The window was tightly shut the first night, and it was so high that it was difficult for guests to open it (and I wasn't sure if it was even possible), so I had to use a fan for some ventilation. Thankfully, I found the window open the next day. The room was clean and tidy, and there was maid service the next day. However, the sink was too small, and the water from washing my hands and face easily spilled all over the floor. Still, for a place like Lucerne, this "hotel" is acceptable.
