A Palazzo Busdraghi Residenza d'Epoca

We have just returned home following a wonderful week spent in Palazzo Busdraghi and wishing we were still there. Marta and Ingrid were delightful and superb hosts - nothing too much trouble. Rooms immaculate, breakfasts delicious, perfect location for discovering Lucca which did not disappoint. We would happily return tomorrow.

Charming apartment right in the centre of town. Because it is so central, it can be noisy, but they considerately left earplugs in the bedroom. The electrics were a bit of a challenge as the building is so old, the plug sockets didn't match our european adapters, but there were 2 converters that we could use. The other thing to mention is the steps to the front door and the fact that reception is about 200 yards away in another building. This is not suitable for people with a disability or mobility issues, we struggled to get the bags up the steep stairs. But the cost and location were really good.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Palazzo Busdraghi. Our hosts, Marta and Ingrid, spoke very good English and were very kind. Marta even asked us if we would like breakfast to be served earlier than 8 am, and they started serving it at 7:30 at our request. The room was lovely and very comfortable - bed, shower, etc. And ours had a couch, which I loved. Breakfast was delicious, including little cups of yogurt with fresh strawberries and honey a couple of mornings. The location is great - cafes and restaurants just a few steps away. It's a bit of a walk from the train station, since it's on the opposite end of the walled city, but it only took about 15 minutes. There was a little late-night noise from the street, but pretty minor. We also heard lovely strains of music playing from a music school very nearby where students must have been practicing - a lovely bonus.

Hotel is in a great location. Beautiful old building entered via a courtyard. Lovely room, yummy breakfast and an amazing host Marta who was so gracious, kind and helpful. She gave great recommendations and provided early breakfast as I had to leave before scheduled breakfast time

Wonderful B&B! Wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted warmly at this 13th century renovated palace. Entering through the huge wooden door with a skeleton key felt like we were stepping back in time. But...the room was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend and would love to return someday.

We had a lovely stay at A Palazzo Busdraghi Residenza d’Epoca in Lucca. The location is incredibly central—right on one of the main streets inside the walls, which made it very convenient to explore the city on foot. That said, being on a main road means it can be a bit noisy at times, but that’s to be expected in such a lively, historic area. The building itself is full of character, as you’d expect from an old palazzo, with a few quirks here and there. Still, it’s a comfortable and reliable place to stay, and the charm far outweighs any minor inconveniences. One major highlight was the hospitality. Ingrid and Marta were absolutely wonderful—so helpful and welcoming. They made excellent restaurant recommendations, helped us reserve dinners, taxis, and even arranged outings. Their assistance made our trip much smoother and more enjoyable. Breakfast each morning was a light selection of pastries and included in the stay, which was a nice touch before heading out for the day. There’s also private parking available about 5–10 minutes away by foot, which was convenient for us as we had a car. Overall, A Palazzo Busdraghi is a solid choice if you’re looking for a central base in Lucca with personalized service and local charm!
