Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos

Amazing Resort, Service, View, Cuisine & Drinks! I went here with my brother for an early birthday celebration & it exceeded our expectations. The service was top notch, the overall atmosphere was amazing & the food / drinks were all top notch! Benjamin our butler was great & helped us locate some desired items for the stay. The museum was a nice touch as well & the landscaping is amazing. The pools were all great as well especially the swimming infinity pool! The only issue was the hot tub had a bit of a tripping hazard sticking up that caused a stubbed toe, so be careful entering the hot tub. Other than that everything was amazing! Great staff, views & drinks! Also a better beach than some of the other resorts I’ve attended in Cabo. Overall a 5 star experience & would come again!

What can I say other than the word AMAZING. My husband and I visited Solaz for our ten year anniversary. Ahead of our arrival, I reached out to the concierge team to let them know, not expecting much other than a list of amenities I could purchase to celebrate. Instead, we were celebrated multiple times over by the staff across the property. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our butler who gave us a tour of the property in a golf cart, then dropped us off at Mako for beach front lunch. We were given our room at approximately 2. We were upgraded (Platinum Elite member) to a plunge pool ocean view. That room delivered views and comfort. I came to TripAdvisor ahead of my trip to find specific information that I never found, so my review here includes some of those things: - you can use the spa to change into your swimsuits if you arrive early and want to enjoy the pool - they have a market on site for alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, toiletries etc. - the pools are heated perfectly which was welcomed for our February visit - A part of our elite status with Bonvoy, we had the choice of 1,000 points or free breakfast daily. We chose the free breakfast which included a full buffet. - we did not get approached once about timeshares - they offer transportation directly through the hotel that's charged to your room. While other services in the area are cheaper, i found this convenient, quick and easy. - We used a taxi to leave property and uber to go back. I didn't try to take uber from the hotel. - The distance to Cabo is about 15 minute drive and to San Jose its about 20 minutes. Its truly the best location. - I don't know about the road noise from the tower rooms, but i am sure its not quiet. We heard it walking through the property, but not in the plunge pool room, nor at the pool. - We had dinner at Al Paiso one night - sat at the bar outside. LOVED the food there and do recommend if you want to stay on property. - Other reviews say the food and drinks are expensive. Its called a "Luxury Collection" so I would expect it to be pricy. For example, we spent $100 with tax and tip for lunch at Mako (two drinks and two lunches). I would personally expect that at a property such as this. - the plunge pool room had a shower that opened up to an outdoor shower. SO COOL. - The plunge pool was semi-heated. It was swimmable during the day but brisk at night. We didn't have neighbors, but i could see how it would be weird if they were also outside swimming at the same time. - The pools don't have signs indicating "kids only" (not that I found anyway). But their website says there are two. I have to wonder if you have kids if the butlers let you know those exist so that families stay at those pools. The pool next to Mako was adults only the entirety of our stay. - There were plenty of chairs at the pool. The only ones gone by mid-morning were the ones directly next to the pool which isn't surprising. But the rest were wide open.

If you value your time, money, and sanity, let this review be your warning: DO NOT STAY AT SOLAZ LOS CABOS. We were lured in by the stunning photos and promises of luxury, but the reality was a disaster from start to finish. Let me break it down: The Pool Situation Prepare to embark on a 20-minute scavenger hunt every day just to find a pool chair. Once you manage to secure one, don’t expect peace and relaxation. The pool is chaos: kids jumping, splashing, and throwing balls constantly. We love kids (we raised three), but this is absurd. There’s no kids-only pool, no family pool, and no adults-only sanctuary. Even the swim-up bar wasn’t safe from the splashing frenzy, with spilled drinks and drenched patrons everywhere. Dining Delays and Insulting Prices We tried every restaurant on-site, hoping for a culinary reprieve, but every meal was a disappointment. One night, we waited two hours for a pizza. Another night, a simple salad and sandwich took over an hour. And don’t get me started on the pricing: $100 for two burgers and a beer at lunch?! Absolutely insulting, considering the mediocre quality. Gym? What Gym? The so-called fitness center is laughable: a cramped 15 x 20 foot room with barely any equipment. It’s perpetually overcrowded, making a proper workout impossible. Luxury? More like a bad joke. Timeshare Trap – The Real Nightmare The worst part of our experience was the aggressive and deceitful timeshare pitch. Before we could even get to our room, we were ambushed and coerced into attending their presentation. They dangled perks like airport transportation and exclusive benefits through a company called 3rd Home. The sales team pushed relentlessly, promising access to top-tier resorts like the Ritz and Four Seasons at a fraction of the cost. After hours of high-pressure tactics, we foolishly signed up, putting down a substantial deposit. The nightmare didn’t end there. Once home, we discovered that 3rd Home was a far cry from what they promised. When we tried to cancel, they demanded $20,000 as a cancellation fee—for what? They provided no services, no benefits, nothing. It’s not the cartels you need to worry about in Los Cabos; it’s Solaz Resort, the real criminals. Final Verdict This resort is an absolute disaster hiding behind a façade of luxury. The lack of basic amenities, outrageous prices, subpar service, and predatory sales tactics make it a place to avoid at all costs. Save your hard-earned money and book somewhere reputable—your wallet and sanity will thank you. Solaz is not luxury; it’s a scam. Consider yourself warned.

This hotel is incredible. I travel a lot and this property is exceptional. My wife and I stayed in the hotel last year and decided that it was so nice we should joint the club. I was worried that the service at the club would not be as good as the service at the hotel, but I was wrong. I have been working with Denisse and she has been unbelievably helpful. She is super nice, easy to work with, and get's the job done. She has made our experience this trip much more enjoyable. If you decide to join the Solaz club, make sure to ask for Denisse. She will make sure your experience is exceptional.
