Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos

This resort is simply the best in Cabo. It is not like the mass luxury or all inclusive resorts in the area. This place transports you to a place of tranquility and peace. The service is second to none and keeps me coming back. Starting with Karla from Foresta juice bar. She is so friendly and accommodating. We made sure to visit her daily. She knew our juice order and ensured she had them ready when we arrived. She always engaged in friendly conversation and gave us recommendations for things to do around town. This is our second trip this year and she remembered us from months ago when she helped us at one of the restaurants. Then there’s Yolanda, Nuria and Carlos who helped us at Cascabel breakfast restaurant. They greeted us by name every single time and know our preferences. We looked forward to breakfast. They made us feel right at home. Jordan was great at finding us nice shaded seating at the pool and checked in with us regularly to ensure we were comfortable and had what we needed. Jesus, the lifeguard was so knowledgeable on the marine life and even notified us of sea turtles hatching so we can be there to see them released. This place is truly an experience. The staff and location are second to none.

We just got back from our 6th stay at Solaz and as another review posted about, this resort gets better with time and that is true. We've seen the resort make some lovely changes over the years and we do enjoy coming back each year. The staff is really what makes our experience special and I would like to give Irving at Mako/the pool a huge shout out. He has the best energy, attitude and just makes your experience over the top. He served us in May 2023 and once again on this trip in October 2024. Irving always took incredible care of us and we looked forward to the days he worked. We can't wait to return to come see him again. Teresa and Gabriel were our butler/artisans and we're lovely and helped coordinate transportation and dinner reservations. As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite member, I didn't give it 5 stars because there were a few hiccups in our stay, nothing major however, the first thing resort added a 15% service charge to all food and beverage which was not there at our prior stays. There wasn't any acknowledgement of this during check in, and it would have been nice to understand that fee better. It was explained to us later, that the 15% is spread throughout all the workers at the hotel including landscapers, housekeeping, etc. Resort food and drinks are always expensive, but knowing your actual server at the restaurant doesn't receive that 15% directly, you then have to almost over tip so your actual server gets a significant tip which makes you feel a little gouged. Secondly, we had a poor experience when we hired an outside photographer to come take pictures of our family. They tried to charge us $500 USD to take pictures at the beach for 30 minutes. I had to leave the pool to go fight with them to not charge that which was silly. I understand having a policy, however, we had used their on site photographer in the past and didn't have the best experience so was just simply going a different route. Staying over 100 nights this year already as an Ambassador Elite, they could have easily just let us be on this one. Overall, the two negatives were minor, the stay was great, the food is excellent and we will return again, to enjoy the resort and see our favorite guy, Irving!

My parents took the whole family and it was a treat What a beautiful resort but I didn't love the small rocky beach for my kids. The pool wasn't very kid friendly either. But we dined there for most days, and the food was excellent. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location was ok but the beach was small. It was truly beautiful but we didn’t like the pools for the kids. They were just long and not really fun for the kids. The food was excellent. We enjoyed about 4 nights and really loved the aesthetic of the hotel.

My wife liked this resort so I was happy. We took the entire family. My kids and their kids and we all had a great time. However, the beach was very small and the pools weren’t really appropriate for the children. The beach was also very rocky and I felt it was dangerous for the small children.

The staff, resort, and amenities were fantastic! Our Butler, Felix, was great and helped make our engagement truly special. The photographers at BEAM Photography are amazing. Our engagement photo session with Verónica was effortless, fun, and we now have photos that we will cherish forever. My fiancé and I highly recommend Solaz and BEAM Photography!!

The Solaz Resort was absolutely Amazing! From the 5 star customer service and the attention to every detail during our stay, to the on site amenities and restaurants. From the moment we arrived Raul was extremely attentive. He made our experience unforgettable. He provided offsite recommendations and made sure we had transportation every time we left the resort and most of all his attention to detail was impeccable. We set out to celebrate our 10yr wedding anniversary in Cabo, what we didn't know is that we would create a memory of a lifetime. Raul made sure our stay was special and memorable. If you are considering staying at the Solaz Resort, go for it and don't forget to ask for Raul!
