Having called in many times in the past when on our way down to south wales, and need of refreshments, we would always call in there. However this time we decided to make a trip of it and stayed for 2 nights in the hotel, what a delight, the staff were amazing, particularly Claire on reception who went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable, the rest of the staff are all vert friendly as well, the room was excellent, and the food was amazing, will definitely be visiting there again ! well done to everyone there !

The food in this hotel is fabulous. Staff are so friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are lacking anything special. The mattress in our room was tired and sloping, the feather pillows gave no support and became instantly flat. In arrival we had no tea, coffee, milk (to be fair it was sorted out quickly), no fridge in the room. We were on the second floor, it was constantly hot and stuffy but being a listed building, with the original sash style windows, you can't open them more than a couple of inches. There was only one chair to sit on, which meant one of us had to sit on the bed. The bathrooms had been updated and were modern. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and we had a meal on the first night which was delicious. Overall, its a great hotel but needs some attention and updating to the rooms.

We booked a table in the restaurant for a family meal. We were greeted at the restaurant door by a young lady on her very first night It’s fair to say that she was a character. She took our orders, and regularly came back to check on us. She was so very friendly. She was a pleasure to be around. Her name was Jorja.

Loved our stay once again and visited many times over the last decade. Fabulous rooms, gorgeous food and the staff are so friendly and are a credit to the hotel. Love our visits to Llandeilo as we love the small independent shops. We'll be back 😊

We have visited this hotel on numerous occasions and always enjoy ! The rooms are clean and comfortable . The staff are all friendly and the service good . Location right in the middle of the town . Food is very good . However , years ago there was a specials - à la carte menu but these days they only seem to have bar meals in the restaurant . Lovely food but nothing ‘more special ‘ . Would be nice to have the option at some point . We will be back !

There’s an article about the hotel in Wales Online (August 25) which says the hotel is great and gives a glowing and accurate report. I agree that the hotel is impressive, beautiful, and full of character. Our stay was wonderful, the hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, the town was lovely, and so were the people. It’s really well worth a visit. Here’s a few tips regarding the hotel, though: Ask for the car park code in advance, in case reception is busy and you’re kept waiting at the car park gate. If there are two of you, ask for two room keycards, or you’ll only get one. And if you’re staying for more than one day, check that the keycards have both been activated for the duration of your stay, or you might have to go back down six flights of stairs to get another. If you want the bed made, ask. If you want more than two tea bags or two coffee pods, or if you want tea and coffee supplies after day one, ask. If you want strong tea with breakfast, ask (we were given only two tea bags in a large pot). If you want croissants with breakfast and the self-serve area has run out, ask (and, if you want more than one each, ask). If you stay more than a couple of days, you’ll probably need to ask for extra toilet roll. If you’re undecided about eating in the restaurant, expect to be offered the opportunity to book at every opportunity. I’m sure it’s as good as it looks and as the reports say, but the hard-sell put us off trying it. It would be so easy for this hotel to get five stars, just providing some more tea bags (and a few other trivial things)!
