"This hotel was an excellent choice. The entire place is meticulously maintained! The gardens around the hotel and pool had the most beautiful plants and flowers. Our room was spacious and elegant. The breakfast buffet was large and everything was fresh and tasty. Dinner was equally delicious. The front desk staff was friendly and attentive and we felt very welcome. It was a very quick walk to the center of Lipari. We wish we could have stayed longer, but the next trip to Sicily we will extend our stay. A big thank you to the hotel staff who took such good care of us. We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Aktea."

It has a lovely swimming pool, the accommodations are very comfortable and clean, the breakfast is just amazing and the staff is fantastic. They have a shuttle to the village and can organize daily tours to other islands, including the amazing trekking to the vulcan Stromboli."

"Beautiful hotel with amazing views of Lipari port & ocean surrounding. Super clean room, comprehensive breakfast with lovely service (big thank you to the head waiter who taught me about espresso sizes and how to order a long black coffee😁), in general excellent service all around (nothing too much for the reception folk), pool is clean & beautifully situated with ocean views, and massage service is a good price & the most relaxing massage I’ve had! The only drawback is the transport to & from the port which is only 200m (uphill for arrival) - hotel charges €15-20 for 1 person and taxi charges £20 for 2 people. You can easily walk down to the port with your bags but it would be nice if the hotel offered complementary pickup given it’s a quality hotel."

"Excellent friendly and efficient service from Rosangela. She organised transport from the ferry port to the hotel (and return) and supervised our early booking in. Rosangela personally organised our preferred 8 hr sightseeing tour around Stromboli - calling the company, agreeing competitive prices, printing out the tickets and showing us where to go to catch the boat. We had an apartment type room (including a kitchen) which was large and clean and had a balcony (no tea / coffee making facilities though and the shower door was a bit of a tight squeeze for me!). Excellent infinity pool with sunbeds & umbrellas and a hot tub! Good hotel location - 15 mins walk to town centre & port and 5 mins to a small pebbly beach. Breakfast was good with plenty of cakes & pastries but no hot products - just a toaster. Good Value for Money and Would stay again."

"A good hotel. The rooms are nice and very clean, the sea view is great, Good quality breakfast food and extremely bad coffee. Service friendly and efficient. Only minus: Very long and steep walk to town, plus a high staircase without handrail leading up to hotel. I would not return as for me that was a problem that disturbed my stay."

"Stayed in the Deluxe Quadruple room with 2 adult kids. Plenty of space, clean room in a good location to make you feel like a local. Far enough from tourist traffic, but short walk to port and restaurants. Houses are closely built so you should expect to hear talking and life going on outside. Great way to understand what is like to live so closely packed together. Giuseppe is quite the character and loves to engage guests in conversation, especially if you can speak Italian. Very nice person and helpful. There is a common room available that has access to a rooftop terrace. Nice spot to eat or cool off outside of your room. Caffe la Vella is a short walk away and a good breakfast option. Located in the smaller port, there are some great dining options here as well and you are among the locals enjoying the piazza."

"Idyllic location overlooking small bay. Quiet, no traffic noise at all. Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent local wines, some from the island, with superb food, lots of locally caught seafood. I've never eaten coffee flavoured cloud, but it must be something like the chef's tiramisu!!"
