Excellent clean and tidy

Nightmare. Worst hotel experience I have ever had! Absolutely awful. Upon checking in I realised my room (room 9) was directly above the kitchen of the burger place next door, the ventilation system for which is right underneath the floor, with the venting right next to the room window! The entire room absolutely stank of stale burger grease and the air was thick with oil. Both the wooden floor and the pages of guidebook on the bed were stuck together with grease. The ventilation vibrated the entire room, and was incredibly loud. There was constant banging and crashing from the kitchen below. The whole first floor wing of the building was incredibly warm, presumably from the kitchen below as it wasn't a warm day. My only hope was that after the burger place closed at 2am they would turn off the ventilation... 3am came and it was still going. After 3 hours of trying to sleep in that hell hole I decided to end my stay in Leicester early. I threw my key card in the box at reception and made the 2 hour drive home, leaving my friend who I'd booked a different room for. Completely ruined my weekend plans. How anyone can think this is an acceptable place to have a anyone (let alone a paying guest) sleep is absolutely beyond me. I'd go so far as to say environmental health should investigate, because I'm not convinced it is even safe. I'd like to request a full refund for my stay, as well as my friends room which I paid for.
