"This hotel offers great value for money. The rooms are incredibly clean and tidy, with no carpets to worry about, and absolutely no strange smells. They're also quite spacious, even featuring a desk that can double as a dining table. The front desk staff are exceptionally nice, sweet, and attentive. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast. While simple, it includes essentials like bread, coffee, hot water, and fruit. There's even a microwave available for heating food. Having stayed at four or five hotels in San Francisco this trip, I can say that although this one has a small, unassuming facade and feels like a niche hotel, it's clean and tidy. The surrounding area can feel a bit dodgy at night, so it's best to stay in. However, its facilities and service are comparable to a four-star hotel, making for a very comfortable stay. Plus, there's a parking lot right next door, which is very convenient. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value and I highly recommend it."

"Facilities: Fully equipped. Cleanliness: Very clean. Environment: This was my first time seeing an elevator like this; I'd only ever seen them in movies before. Breakfast: I loved the yogurt and the apples; the apples were very fresh. The front desk staff was very helpful and even asked if I needed help calling a taxi. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again next time I'm in San Francisco 😊"

"Loved the location! There are bus stops not too far away, and parking depends on availability. The front desk service was excellent. Even though it was summer, I felt a bit cold, so the front desk gave me a space heater, and it made the room nice and toasty."

"A wonderful small renovated hotel at excellent pricing. Good location. Clean spotless room with large size and open light windows. Comfy bed and bathroom. The staff and manager are very friendly and helpful. I extended my stay to an extra day MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE BREAKFAST WAITRESS WHO WAS UNFRIENDLY AMD RUDE. I POLITELY ASKED 3 TIMES FOR A COFFEE REFILL AMD WALTED 10 MINITES WHILE SHE WAITED ON NRW ARRIVING TABLES. WHEN O ASKED AGAIN SHE RUDELY TOLD ME TO KEEP WAITING. WHEM I TOLD HER I WOULD MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT SHE SAID WITH DISGUST ”GO AHEAD!:. I LEFT IMMEDIAYELY WITJPUT MY REQUEST SO I WOULD NOT SAY SOMETHING INAPPROPRIATE. SHE CLEARLY HAYRS HER JOB AND SHOULD BE REPLACED.. THANKFULLY THE HOTEL MGR CAME TO ME, APOLOGIZED AND POILITELY DOSCISSED MY CONCERN. OTHER THAN THIS NASTY BREAKFAST EVERYONE ELSE WERE SUPER NICE"

"A well-decorated hotel, the front desk saw me with a child and suggested that I change to a multi-bed room for free, because I didn't bother to change. The toilet and bathroom are not in the room, so if you want to take a shower, you don't need to think about it. Breakfast was average. For San Francisco, where soil is at a premium, it is recommended to stay."

"This is my experience with Union Hotel. What you see is what you get. If you are not that choosy for a quick stay (2-3 nights) should I say, then you can stay here, less expensive and economically sound for a traveler. However, there are only 2 toilet rooms and 1 shower room per floor with 12-15 single/double bed rooms sharing that amenities. This is a 4 story cute hotel, and there is no elevator. So watch out if you carry heavy luggage as it will burden you. There is no front desk like a typical hotel, you need to enter a gated (with buzzer) door, and the owner will meet you at the approaching alley in the 2nd Floor. Although there is a small lavatory inside the room. No A/C nor heater also. No blower as well. The location is very near at the 16th Street Bart Station but need to caution you during night time as this area is in Mission district and maybe “not so normal” people around the corner doing lot of things (I cannot confirm if they are doing bad, as I didn’t get closer to them), plenty of street dwellers also are present in the neighborhood, just be careful with your belongings when getting in the sideways."

"The hotel itself is old with no elevators but the service is decent and parking is free. There is no breakfast but there is a microwave in the room. It is located on the beach side of the Golden Gate Park, with excellent walking trails and easy roads to the Pacific Ocean. An excellent view of the Golden Gate Bridge can be reached by car in 8 minutes and 40 minutes by foot."

"Great location, felt very safe. Plus, there's a Whole Foods Market right next door! The room itself was fantastic, facing directly onto San Francisco's core CBD – a truly wonderful view. It was a bit small, but definitely enough space to move around. Service was decent, nothing exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised that a room was ready when I arrived early, but then they tried to give me a standard king room which felt a bit like a bait-and-switch. I had to go back and insist on getting the corner room I originally booked, which was a bit sneaky of them."

"Although it is not in Union Square, which everyone chooses, I personally think it is better here. First, the price is cheaper than United, and the second is the convenient transportation. There are many buses at the door. It is convenient to go anywhere. The bus costs $3 per person, and it’s free within two hours. By the way, the room is very new, smart toilet, I booked the cheapest room, so the space is quite small, the two suitcases are spread out, not easy to put, but the room design is reasonable, I like it. There is no breakfast. After paying the full amount for the room, I paid another 200 USD deposit, which has not been refunded."
