"The staff at Hotel Beresford San Francisco were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I was really happy with the room I booked; it was exceptionally clean and the bed was huge and super comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a large supermarket, and there's a bus stop right outside. Across the street is a Ross department store, and the metro is just a 2-minute walk away. I'll definitely choose Hotel Beresford again next time I'm in San Francisco."

"The Handlery Union Square Hotel boasts an excellent and convenient location, within a 10-minute walk of the MTR station, tram stops, and other public transport. We felt the genuine enthusiasm of both the front desk staff and the housekeeping team. Upon checking in, the hotel's architecture and facilities conveyed a sense of long history, and the overall environment was impeccably clean. The hotel thoughtfully provides complimentary luggage storage, which allowed us to leave our bags in their dedicated space after checking out on our last day, giving us a full day to explore worry-free before picking them up in the evening and taking BART to the airport."

"The hotel left a mixed impression. The building itself is quite old, which is noticeable throughout the property. The air conditioning in the room was not working, making it very hot and uncomfortable, especially at night. The gym is also in poor condition — the equipment is outdated and needs renovation. Housekeeping was consistent, but the cleaner came every morning at 9:00 AM, which was not always convenient and sometimes disturbed our rest. On the positive side, the hotel has a bar with surprisingly good food — that was definitely a highlight. The staff were also very friendly, polite, and helpful. Overall, the hotel might be okay if you don’t mind outdated conditions, but for the price, I expected a higher level of comfort."

"On my first night, I found a wiggling maggot on the duvet. The hotel's handling of the situation was also a bit confusing. They only had housekeeping come to confirm and change the sheets and duvet, and I had to request a room change myself. They also told me their security manager would come talk to me. I don't understand what there was to talk about, it's not like I witnessed a **. (This part was left as is due to the unusual placeholder, assuming it's an intentional blank or code for something non-translatable directly.) I directly asked what benefit this would be to me. I was already very unhappy about the incident; I might have been a bit happier if they upgraded my room or offered me vouchers. They didn't respond and simply gave up on talking to me, saying they would write their report based on their own understanding. What else? Could talking to me lead to a new understanding? I was quite shocked that they made no attempt to appease me. Later, my friends told me that's just how the service industry is in the US. I haven't compared, so I can't comment. The breakfast restaurant, front desk, concierge, etc., were all acceptable and within normal expectations. I wonder if their procedures when something goes wrong would be just as 'magical'."

"Room is very clean and bed very comfortable. Good room service everyday, unlimited complimentary water, coffee, tea, cookies all day long. Wifi available in room. Staff are courteous. Location is close to Union square and all transport. I will stay here again next time. The only flaw is the TV is not connected to power & no power cord provided, hence can't watch TV, hope this can fix."

"The hotel is conveniently located, just a 5–10 minute walk from the bus and metro stations. However, I didn’t find the surrounding streets very safe to walk at night, as there were many homeless people wandering around, and the area was quite dirty with a strong smell of urine. That being said, the room itself was nice and clean. There is also a common area on the second floor where guests can refill water, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, and use the washing and drying machines, which is very convenient. The staff were very helpful—when we requested an extra blanket, they were happy to assist. Additionally, the hotel offers day luggage storage with a locker room, which is another convenient feature."

"This hotel offers great value for money. The rooms are incredibly clean and tidy, with no carpets to worry about, and absolutely no strange smells. They're also quite spacious, even featuring a desk that can double as a dining table. The front desk staff are exceptionally nice, sweet, and attentive. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast. While simple, it includes essentials like bread, coffee, hot water, and fruit. There's even a microwave available for heating food. Having stayed at four or five hotels in San Francisco this trip, I can say that although this one has a small, unassuming facade and feels like a niche hotel, it's clean and tidy. The surrounding area can feel a bit dodgy at night, so it's best to stay in. However, its facilities and service are comparable to a four-star hotel, making for a very comfortable stay. Plus, there's a parking lot right next door, which is very convenient. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value and I highly recommend it."
