"Friendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think.
Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining...
The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too.
They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those.
What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially.
All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail."
"This is my third stay at this hotel. Before the pandemic, the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great. Now it feels much worse. The sheets weren't changed and there was hair in them, so I had to use my own sheets and duvet cover. Because it was the weekend, the price was double the weekday price, and there was no breakfast. It wasn't good value for money, which was a bit disappointing. The room is large enough to open 2-3 suitcases at the same time. Free parking is a plus."
"Location on foot to Morro Rock. Booked room on the 3rd floor was very clean and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was sufficient and was prepared and taken care of a very friendly and charming staffer (Shelbi). The hotel is a perfect recommendation for this hotel. We will stay here anytime."
"Great location! I had a conference at the Monterey Conference which is less than a 3 min walk! Only thing was that there was no AC, I’m so used to assuming that hotels always have AC, but it was my bad for not checking ahead of time. I asked for a roll out bed, and they were able to provide that, depending on availability at no extra cost. Had a good stay! Quite historical hotel."
"The hotel is beautiful and in a good location. It is close to the beach, Cannery Row, and the aquarium, and can be reached on foot. The hotel has its own parking lot, which costs $19 per day. The free breakfast is quite rich, with fruits such as oranges, bananas, and strawberries. You can also make your own waffles, which is a good experience and tastes good. The room is relatively large, and there is a fireplace that can be lit and is very warm. You need to prepare your own toothpaste, toothbrush, and slippers."
"Great location (close to 17 Mile Drive and other scenic spots), spacious, clean and cozy rooms, family-friendly inn with sufficient parking spaces.
Offering simple but nice complimentary breakfast.
Excellent guest service before, during and after the stay. A special thank you note to the day and night staff who patiently assisted with the FedEx delivery arrangement for delivery of a lost item to another city.
Would love to come back and stay again!"
"The room facilities can meet basic needs, but they are simple and the hygiene is only acceptable. There is no breakfast. The transportation is convenient and it is okay for a one-night stay during travel. There are many hotel options in Monterey and the price-performance ratio is good."
"We stayed at this hotel the day before the Monterey marathon event.
The bed was big and comfortable.
However, it was noisy because the walls were thin and the Monterey Airport is nearby.
There are free coffee and apples and chocolate bars in the lobby!"
"Perfect location & reception staff were lovely, however the room could’ve been so much cleaner, hairs were found in the toilet, on the bathroom floor, on the floor of the bedroom & on the bedside tables.
The rooms were super noisy- we could hear everything from the room above.
The stay was fine for one night but any longer the cleanliness would have to be improved on. A shame as it could be an amazing place. "

Great
PPiqiumaThe hotel is very close to the aquarium. The room was large and had a fireplace, which made it very warm. There was a long sofa bed by the window, but I kept hitting my head on the corner of the wall! I hit it so hard I forgot to take pictures. The bathroom faucet was leaking, and I called twice but no one answered. When checking in, the front desk saw Asian faces and put them in a different building. I had read other guest comments before and it turns out they were true. The other building had a long corridor connecting it, and the room faced the street, which was extremely noisy. There was a constant mix of music and loud motorcycle sounds. This night was too long, I had to wait until dawn. Breakfast was very good, generous portions and delicious. The restaurant and parking attendants were all very nice.
ZZhoujiajiaThe hotel has convenient parking and a great environment. The only downside is that you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself. As for housekeeping, they won't clean your room unless you specifically ask them to, and you need to arrange it in advance. The in-room phone doesn't work, so you have to call the front desk on your mobile phone for any services you need.
KKL_TanGood location and friendly staff with warm service.
Very impressed on check in by staff Mr Alan.
He was courteous and helpful on check in. Took time to explain and highlight the amenities available.
The place feels safe and has 2 levels of secure and well lighted parking.
Food and grocery are 5mins of driving away .
Old Fisherman Whatf is a must to visit for dining and shopping. Neatly themed and decorated side walks.
Highly recommended hotel if staying in Montery area
MM280980****This was my first time staying at a motel. The facilities were similar to those of budget hotels in China—clean and new. It had its own small yard, and parking was relatively safe. The only downside was that when I arrived at night, there was no one at the front desk; I had to press the disabled access bell to get someone to check me in. There's a commercial area across the street with supermarkets and restaurants, making dining convenient. The 17 Mile Golf Resort in town (which charges an entrance fee) has beautiful scenery and is well worth a visit.
LLuoyunxideniangzhiI stayed in Monterey for two nights to watch whales. The hotel is very close to the port and it is very convenient to drive for ten minutes. However, I was very seasick when I went out to sea. I fell asleep as soon as I got back to the hotel. The breakfast the next day was quite rich, with fried rice
__WeChat25732****I lost my passport ,reception help me found it with send email for me ❤️Thanks very much,it’s so kind of reception ,he helps me deliver packages next hotel,it’s important to me,I’m very grateful 👍
Hotel is beautiful,recommend👏
GGuest UserEverything was good except the fact of someone pounding on my door at 1:00am then they took off! It was ridiculously unacceptable as they think it’s funny! Other then that, the view of the beach from our room was spectacular. Well worth the cost. Checking in/out was quick and easy.
GGuest UserGood facilities, there are fridge and microwave in the room, quite helpful for travelers who want to est something simple for breakfast or dinner. The room service helps to keep the room clean. Downside is it can be noisy at night and can hear the outside when the people outside is loud.
HHoweeThe room was quite spacious and came equipped with a coffee maker and a microwave. I was assigned a first-floor room, and an elevator is also available for convenience. Overall, it's a nice hotel. The only minor issue was when I went to make coffee, I found a used coffee pod from the previous guest still left in the machine.
陈陈Good location, clean small hotel with ironing board and electric kettle. Motels with good facilities in the United States. The 17miles entrance one or two kilometers away is a lot cheaper than living in Carmel
