Great
XXiaoyezi::This newly opened hotel is, in my opinion, one of the best on Koh Samet. Most places on the island are typically guesthouses, regardless of their star rating, but this one actually feels like a proper hotel. The towels are very thick, amenities are provided, and there's even a laundry bag. The toilet is Kohler, the TV is TCL, and the room is spacious and, surprisingly, very clean. The only minor downsides might be the slightly low water pressure and the somewhat noisy air conditioning, but these are small issues in an otherwise great stay. It has its own quiet beach, and I'm very satisfied with everything. It's been a long time since I've stayed in a hotel I've been this happy with. Of course, I'm comparing it to the older, often overpriced guesthouses on the island – this hotel is an absolute gem! The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is a buffet, which is quite extensive for a hotel of this size. If it's priced at 600-700 baht, it's an incredibly good deal for this island!

GGuest UserA good place where the price matches the quality. The hotel is a complex of small separate bungalows located on a hill, so you need to walk up some stairs to get to your room. The room has everything you need: a bed, a bathroom, tea and coffee and a terrace. It really feels like living in the jungle - you can hear birds singing all the time, and we even saw geckos among the flowers. The staff was polite and unobtrusive. They brought clean towels, toiletries, and drinking water every day. The sea is very close, just across the road, and there is a nice sandy beach nearby. I would give this place a solid 4 out of 5. There were a few small issues, but they were solved quickly. For example, the shower didn’t work when we checked in, but it was fixed soon after. The location is very convenient: it’s between the more lively area with cafés and restaurants, and quieter, more secluded beaches.

RRay2233Traveling with kids and elderly parents, we booked two rooms for two nights. At the time of booking, only deluxe rooms were available, and the price wasn't great. The rooms were arranged in a row of three, quite far inside, and a bit small with poor soundproofing, but they were clean. The hotel has its own pier, and the ferry to and from the island is free. Our luggage went directly to the island's front desk, which was very convenient. We were charged a 200 Thai Baht per person island fee at check-in, but it was refunded at check-out, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff, both at the pier and the hotel, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast was also plentiful. Next time we visit Koh Samet, we'll definitely book a deluxe cottage closer to the beach.

NNipoditangxianzuStayed for 2 nights and 3 days. You can snorkel directly in front of the hotel, and there are more fish near the coral reefs, but I wouldn't recommend going there if the waves are big. It's best to wear long pants and diving socks to avoid scratches. The sand right outside is very fine and soft. Breakfast is served by the sea with ocean views. The bar street can get a bit noisy at night, so it might not be suitable for light sleepers, but since we usually go to bed late, it didn't bother us. A major plus is that the bedsheets are changed for every new guest. The room has many windows, making it bright and airy. The only downsides are that the shower only has a handheld showerhead and the water pressure is a bit low. For shopping, try to go to the 7-Eleven on the main street, as the supermarket here is about a third more expensive. Overall, it offers great value for money and is perfect for a relaxing holiday.

GGuest UserService: First off, a huge shout-out to the service! Our trip was a bit rushed, and all the rooms were booked up. We originally wanted to stay for three nights, but the middle night was Valentine's Day, and it was so popular that we couldn't get a reservation. I thought it would be easy to find another hotel, but there was nothing available. A guy at the front desk named James was an absolute lifesaver! From the moment I asked him, he not only helped coordinate rooms at their own hotel but, more importantly, he continuously helped me contact other hotels and made reservations for us without hesitation. Otherwise, we would have been sleeping on the streets! There was also a lovely lady at the front desk who was incredibly helpful. A big thank you to both of them. Environment: I absolutely loved the hotel's environment! The beach is right there, connected to the hotel. It's not a sandy beach, but the best part is that you can go clamming and crabbing there – we found moon snails, bullseye snails, turret snails, and even various sea cucumbers and crabs! It's perfect for families with kids. Facilities: The hotel seems to have been newly renovated and it's done really well. Everything is very new, so there's no hesitation about staying here. The breakfast was also good. If we ever come back to Koh Samet, we will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again!

PPaul from LondonThis hotel is located at the quiet end of the beach Very clean room and maids very sweet and friendly The grounds are clean and well looked after Breakfast on the beach side restaurant with friendly staff Good choice for breakfast The only problem I have with this hotel when you are paying nearly 3500 THB a night is not enough beach furniture When see people not guest at the hotel coming early and reserving their chairs and umbrella by put down a towel and moving furniture around then going away for a few hours coming back with friends There is one umbrella and 3 chairs per set Most people are in couples so only need 2 chairs If have children staff should provide a mat under the umbrella Staff shouldn't let guests move furniture around This way more guests at hotel can get a space on the beach We had breakfast at 7.30am and by 8am we had too rush too get our space on the beach before all gone A nice hotel and nice clean beach Just stop non guests using furniture and moving around When you are paying good money too stay here You want a spot on the beach The other option is too sit in restaurant all day If we come back too Koh Samet this hotel would be a back up option Over all nice stay 👍

MMegan EastThe hotel is lovely, and the traditional wooden bungalow is perfect for a solo traveler, what was not great is the constant music till 10 at night, if you are looking for peace and quiet this is not the place to stay. Starting at 5 you have the saxophone player, followed by a one man band, then the fire show, and then the one man’s band again till 10- to 10.30. It repeats the same format every night, so you have to make sure you are away from it. The way the resort is set out, it’s hard to escape the constant noise. 5 days of this and I need another vacation just from the lack of sleep. If you like the constant party vibe then you will love it. I would think they just save their money, do one massive fire show on the weekend, and have chill during the early week days.

JJules66This is a good low budget option to experience island life, but not that low budget £60 per night ( January 2026) We are very familiar with island life in Thailand and appreciate that some things just don’t work as well. The location of Malibu Samed Resort is gorgeous, it’s more or less situated on the beach of the small quaint Wong Duean Bay. There are several beach restaurants available, the vibe is chilled, without the drinking or ******** culture. It’s lovely. Our welcome was warm, the staff were great and happy to help with our luggage. Our room is small 16 m² with 2 single beds, some hanging and storage space. It has a rustic feel to it. There is a fridge which is always welcome, tea and coffee making facilities, which we always appreciate, as well as a safety deposit box & flat screen TV. The bed and pillow are comfortable but not sumptuous. Towels are provided and I would say are of typical island quality. However the shower was an issue, obviously water is limited on the island and taking a hot shower was challenging but actually having a good supply of water either in the evening or morning was very hit and miss. Missed more often, it gets frustrating when you can’t have an adequate shower, that’s one of the reasons we move about frequently. Breakfast is of limited quality but there are a variety of options including cereal, hot food both western & Thai. Toast cereal and tea & coffee. The pool area was hardly used during our stay so a nice quiet retreat from the beach was available.

GGuest UserI have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future.

GGuest UserThe location is convenient, just a few meters from the sea, and close to the lively areas too. The hotel itself is in a relatively quiet spot, and I say 'relatively quiet' because it's surrounded by lush vegetation. Many birds start their dawn chorus early in the morning, which is actually lovely – waking up to the sounds of different birds is quite nice. The hotel is a bit old, and the rooms aren't large, but they do clean upon request. The rooms have everything you need for a short stay. We really enjoyed it, though our noisy neighbors who were playing loud music and singing spoiled it a little. However, the hotel staff quickly quieted them down by asking them to keep it down.
