CAMP CAYLA - COASTA

We had an amazing stay! The camp was brand new and very clean. The beach sand was so soft! We want to thank Joey, the wonderful and attentive Camp Cayla staff who made our stay great. As soon as we arrived he arranged everything according to what we liked. He asked us if we wanted to rent a scooter which we choose to do and he organised everything! In the middle of the night we didn’t know how to turn the aircon off (we were holding it too far away) and he was at our door within a few minutes and showed us how to turn it off. He was always on-site and took care of us well! The room was very clean, comfortable and cosy. There were some small ants but that’s expected. We had insect spray so it was fine. Negatives: The property is not fenced so there lots of dogs that come very close, this maybe an issue for people that have a fear of dogs or if there’s small children playing around. The bar/ restaurant/ reception area is not ready yet, there is no where to buy food close by.

Hello. We stayed for three days. We checked in promptly at 3:00 PM. The pool was cold. The apartment layout is comfortable, but the soundproofing is very poor. On the 8th floor, you can hear dogs and loud, strange noises all night long. It sounds like someone is walking around and slamming doors. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need. Having two bathrooms is also a plus. Overall, it was okay.

The hotel is small, pleasant, cozy, and a bit minimalist. Of course, you absolutely need a car to get to this hotel – there's nothing within walking distance around it. However, everything else at the hotel makes up for it. The architecture is interesting – a mix of castle-like and Thai styles. The sea is gorgeous, right next to the hotel, and during high tide, it's right by the hotel cafe. The entry is gentle, and the water is clean. Sometimes rubbish washes ashore, but an old man with a broom cleans it up every morning. The pool is good, and while there aren't many sun loungers, there were always some available. Most of the tourists are from Asia and don't sunbathe much. The breakfasts are very, very good. I especially liked the restaurant itself – it felt more like a proper restaurant than a typical breakfast cafe. The table settings were nice, and everything was cleared away quickly. However, the rooms... If the hotel is a castle, the rooms are like monastic cells. They're not necessarily small, but they're decorated in dark tones, which feels a bit unwelcoming. There's a small, 'castle-style' window. The bathroom is tiny – you hit your elbows while drying off, and there's even a wardrobe in the bathroom! Even if you book a room with a balcony or pool access, the balcony is recessed into the room, making the room itself feel even smaller. And the bed linen is cheap and thin. It seemed clean, but it looked old. The cleaning was good, though. But the room didn't spoil our vacation at all. If we're ever in Rayong, we'll definitely stop by for a couple of nights!

This is my go to hotel when I'm in this area of Thailand. The location is perfect for the beach and all amenities and close to lots of fabulous restaurants. The staff have always been kind and friendly and answer any questions you may have. The rooms are spacious, clean and of a high standard. I will definitely be staying there again when I am in the area.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with excellent facilities. The breakfast spread was also generous and delicious. Being right by the sea, it was incredibly convenient to get to the beach. The front desk staff, especially Ark and Beam, were incredibly warm and attentive. Ark, in particular, was very knowledgeable about both the hotel and local attractions. She processed our extension quickly and patiently answered all my questions, always with a lovely, warm smile that made us feel right at home! We even left some items in our old room, and the hotel staff kindly moved them to our new one, which allowed us to enjoy our time out and about without any worries. We'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this hotel!

The ocean view here is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, making me feel relaxed from the very first moment I arrived. The staff at Novotel Rayong Rim Pae Resort were extremely helpful and attentive. i initially requested to change the room there was a noise issue at night from the water system. Once I informed the staff, they responded immediately and upgraded my room to a Deluxe Sea View.I was very impressed with how quickly and professionally they handled the situation—it really made my stay much more enjoyable.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) We recently stayed here for a short family trip. While the hotel has some fantastic features for families, there were a few significant hiccups during our stay. The Highlights • Enormous Space: The grounds are undeniably huge. There is plenty of room for children to run around and burn off energy, which we really appreciated. • Breakfast: The spread lives up to the Marriott standard with a wide variety of choices. We opted to eat at the hotel for convenience so we could jump straight into the pool afterward. • Family Friendly: It feels like a solid family hotel with a massive main pool area and a dedicated Kids Club. The Drawbacks • Kids Club Fees: Be aware that most activities at the Kids Club come with an extra charge, so they aren't ”free” perks of the stay. • Maintenance & Weather: During a heavy rainstorm, the electricity cut off, and we noticed water dripping inside the building. The property is starting to show its age in these moments. ⚠️ Safety Warning for Parents If you are traveling with small children, please be extremely careful at the pool next to the Kids Club. While wading with my baby, I stepped on a broken tile or sharp grout at the foot of the pool which resulted in a large, deep cut on my toe. It was a painful injury that fortunately didn't require stitches, but it is a major safety concern for anyone with little ones. Summary: A good choice for a family getaway due to the size and facilities, but the hotel needs to urgently address pool maintenance and room leaks.

The hotel is tired, but there's plenty of greenery. The pool is nice, cozy, beautiful, and deep. The kids dived in. We stayed in a family room, which is large, with beds separated by a partition. The TV had poor reception, and the WiFi was poor. There's no hairdryer, so you have to ask at reception. There's also no safe in the room. Breakfast is average. The hotel is mostly frequented by older couples, and there are practically no Russians. There's a 7/11 on both sides, a cafe opposite the hotel on the shore, and an Italian restaurant to the right of the hotel. The sea is warm, very clean, and practically deserted! There are sun loungers opposite the 7/11 on the right for 30 baht, and on the other side for 50 baht. Water activities for children and adults include inflatables, banana boats, and water sports. Water activities cost 200 baht per person. Overall, the hotel left a good impression! The nearest currency exchange office is 20 km away.

It takes no more than 15 minutes by speedboat from the mainland to reach this private island. The accommodation is generally better than the average for small island resorts like this. The beds and towels were clean, unlike many places where they're old and yellowed. I stayed one night in a dome house and one night in a bungalow. The dome house was unique and newer, which was nice, but it got incredibly hot and unbearable when there was no electricity. The bungalow, however, had a cool sea breeze blowing through it constantly. The beach on the west side had some trash, so I'd recommend swimming on the east side. The lady who manages the island is super kind and friendly. Overall, I was impressed. It's perfect for a truly relaxing getaway.

The hotel is dated and does need updated. But if you’re realistic with what you can expect from a $80/night and a clean, peaceful quiet private beach, this hotel is a very good one. They are definitely short of staff for the high season. But they try very hard to make things comfortable for you. They fixed the fridge door and bought back in an hour. The front desk staff helped carrying bags and deliver yo your door. They all did extra works. Breakfast is sufficient and up to standard. Thai selections are quite tasty though. Lunch and dinner menus have considerable variety of Thai (more) and Western (less). Simple restaurants close by but if you have cravings for fancier Western food, it’s 40 minutes away. A good location if you have a car.
