La Villa Hill Mon Jam

Amazing

While getting here by taxi or private car can be a bit tricky, the hotel offers a convenient paid pick-up/drop-off service. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. For meals, there's a reasonably priced menu of food and drinks available at the front desk, making dining very convenient. The prices are fair, and the food is delicious. The staff even thoughtfully set up our meals on the terrace. However, since it's located in the mountains, it's hard to be completely free from bugs. Still, if you follow a few precautions, it's not a major inconvenience. The water pressure is a bit weak, but the hot water works well. The Wi-Fi isn't super fast, but the mobile signal is generally good. Given its location, it's naturally not going to have the same amenities as a city hotel, but it's more than enough for a relaxing stay at 1200 meters above sea level. Above all, the attentive and friendly service from the staff throughout our stay was truly impressive.

SkyView Monjam

Great

Summary: We had a great stay here at SkyView Monjam! The house had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay, albeit certain obscure corners could be cleaned up better. The staff were excellent and took great care of us, providing us with good food and catering to our requests as much as possible. Would definitely come back again for a relaxing retreat! Cleanliness: Overall very clean, though certain areas that are more difficult to reach in general could see certain signs of nature. But those areas are not visible unless you purposely look into it, which won't affect your stay overall. Staff will ask if the house needs to be cleaned daily, then changes the bedsheets and covers if yes. So rest assured that the sheets are clean and fresh. Location: Not the most accessible, but that should be expected when you are booking this place since it is up in the mountain area. Driving takes at least 1 hour with confident driving skills on windy mountainous roads. The last 200m or so to the house is bumpy off-road tracks. Transportation to and fro can be requested to the staff and booked at least 1 day in advance for a fixed fee. Do not bother trying to get Grab/Bolt rides as the final fare will end up much higher due to rural location and road condition. In fact, why bother going out when you can relax in nature 😃 Service: Simply put, it was equivalent to a 5-star resort. The staff were very accommodating to our requests and timings, even waiting for us near past their working hours and our requested time to help prepare our dinner! Be rest assured that you will be well taken care of during the stay! Amenities: The MVP was the speaker provided, it stayed with us throughout our whole stay. Wifi was strong and readily available despite being in a less urban area. Shower water is fixed at a temperature as the hot water is boiled using gas, so any adjustments will require assistance from the staff to physically change the gas intake of the boiler. The air-conditioning is not the strongest at cooling the entire house, so a standing fan is provided to help circulate the cool air around. Other than utensils which can be requested from the staff, cooking appliances and tools are readily available.

Panviman Chiang Mai Spa Resort

Great

An absolute gem in the hills of Chiang Mai We stayed as a family of five, spanning three generations — grandparents, us, and our child — and booked two pool villas for the trip. From start to finish, this resort exceeded every expectation. The scenery alone is worth the trip. Perched in the hills with sweeping views, the resort truly is a destination in itself — you don’t need to leave the property to have an incredible stay. The pool villas were fantastic, with plenty of space and privacy for the whole family, but even the standard rooms are beautifully done — you really can’t go wrong with either. What set this stay apart was the service, especially at the restaurant. A staff member named Chai went above and beyond to accommodate my parents’ food allergies, checking in on every dish and making sure they felt completely taken care of. That kind of attentiveness is rare and made all the difference for us. The food itself was outstanding throughout our stay. If you’re deciding between this and Anantara, save yourself the debate — come here instead. Between the views, the villas, the food, and the genuinely warm service, Panviman Chiang Mai is one of those rare resorts that lives up to the hype and then some. We’ll be back.

My stay was overall okay, and the room itself was clean with amenities restocked daily, which I appreciated. However, it does feel like the hotel is cutting corners in ways that impact the guest experience. The body gel and shampoo provided were very low quality, and I was surprised to find there was an extra charge for additional towels. Since the hotel is located farther from town, it would greatly benefit guests if amenities were more accommodating — such as keeping the bar and café open past 18:00 and offering an on-site laundry room. The balcony was a nice feature, but unfortunately there was no seating to actually enjoy the space. While the hotel meets basic standards, improving the quality of amenities and making small adjustments for guest comfort would make a significant difference, especially given its remote location.

I had a wonderful stay at Nai R Kaad and would absolutely recommend it, especially for solo travelers or anyone looking for peace and nature. The cabin is stunning and beautifully designed, blending perfectly with the surrounding mountains. The view is truly outstanding sunset time was magical and easily one of the highlights of my trip. The BBQ experience was great and very well set up, making it such a special moment to enjoy dinner while overlooking the mountains. The service was excellent: staff were kind, attentive, and made sure everything was well prepared and comfortable during my stay. Since the cabin is located in the mountains, it does get quite cold in the evening. While the bed was comfortable with a normal blanket, there were no heaters or extra blankets available for outdoor seating. A few outdoor blankets would make the experience even more perfect, especially if you plan to eat outside. It’s also worth noting that there are no shops or attractions nearby due to the remote location, so it’s a good idea to bring your own snacks or drinks if you’re staying more than one night. For a one-night stay, however, it was absolutely perfect for me as a solo traveler. Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful place with breathtaking views and great service. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it for a unique mountain escape in Chiang Mai.

Very cozy and nice resort in Mon Jam. The resort architecture was really homey. We came to the resort too early before check-in time but we've been received great service and hospitalized to get early check-in also been upgraded to the bigger room to ”Mon Fah” that you can enjoy the stunning view at your room great balcony area. Hot chamomile tea retreated me from a bit cold but fresh greenery after rain during check-in waiting. After check-in, we took lunch at resort restaurant that they had Michaelin stars 3 consecutive years. Food was fresh and very healthy delicious especially organic vegg. We felt very warm hospitalized from all service minded and well trained staffs and especially 'Pee Su” the owner. All fruits especially papaya was really sweet and fresh. We encouraged yo support local organic farm directly here that you can enjoy shopping papaya, lemon, and seasonal vegg and fruits here. ”Nong Kwan” the resort staff brought us to the local chilli, lettuce and cabbage farm down hill that easy to access from resort. She's really friendly and amazingly she learnt how to plant by herself, from long year experience learning by doing was such a great expertise that she shared her know how with us and we learnt from her a lot about high land plantation. We appreciated Pee Su, Long Kwan and all staffs provided us great service like friends visit home. We promised next time to Mon Jam, we'll revisit your place once again for sure.

This is the perfect place to truly unwind and relax, absolutely no complaints! The staff are all incredibly helpful and genuinely passionate about service. Even though I booked a standard room, it was fantastic, complete with a bathtub and a comfortable bed. For dinner, they offer a set BBQ and shabu-shabu for 1,500 baht. The ingredients were top-notch, just like dining at a high-end Japanese restaurant in the city, and the portions were generous. Breakfast includes congee (rice porridge) which is part of the room rate, and you can refill the side dishes and congee as much as you like. In summary, I've bookmarked this place and will definitely be returning!

I really loved the service at NJ Homestay. Although the staff may not speak or understand English very well, we managed just fine using Google Translate. Our room’s toilet did give us some trouble during our stay — the water heater wasn’t working at first, and later the toilet had flushing issues, which continued throughout the two nights we were there. That said, I want to give a special shoutout to the staff, who were always patient and helpful, never hesitating to assist us with unclogging the toilet or checking the heater whenever there was a problem. The location isn’t the most convenient since it’s up in the mountains, but having a private driver made a big difference. Breakfast was included and it was great. As for cleanliness, it was acceptable considering the homestay is located in a mountainous area — some bugs are expected, and roosters start crowing as early as 3:30 a.m. Overall, the beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, fresh air, and friendly staff and locals (Chiang Mai people are generally very warm and welcoming) made the stay worthwhile. I would definitely visit again.

It’s a very unique glamping experience . The rooms are clean and have all the basics. If you’re going in the cold season, take extra blanket and layers for the night as it gets super cold inside the rooms. It’s close to mon jam sky view. If yiu’re into hiking or running, the loop is also just next to you. The gentleman at the reception is very welcoming, and genuinely kind. He helped us with our car issue patiently and kindly. We didn’t get to thank him properly as he was dealing with some arriving guest. So, thank you so much for your help.

The room was spotless, and getting a taxi wasn't an issue. The hotel even has its own shuttle service that can drop you off at the main road for free. The staff were all super friendly, and the food at the hotel restaurant was really clean and fantastic! Super clean room, very friendly staff, food at the restaurant in the hotel is super cheap. Great place if you like sports, they have many options for sports lovers. I was there with my family.
