"The lady on duty on the Singapore public holiday after the National Day was a bit crafty. Wanted to charge us $100 for checking in at 14h00, one hour earlier than official checkin. The notices on the counter clearly mentioned it cost $25 for a one hour early checkin. We did not request an early checkin. Then came the carrot. The same lady offered one room with 4 beds instead of the two rooms we had booked with free early checkin. Nice try, but we were not falling for that old trick. My wife is Chinese and she sniffed a rat in that deal instantly when she realised we would be giving up a second bathroom and some privacy of interleading doors between the two rooms we had booked. Pretty sneaky lady that receptionist Very convenient location along the river. Hotel has a leisure pool for a casual dip. Coffee and tea in the room, even a kettle but you guessed it, the only hotel I have ever stayed at that does not provide bottled water in the room. Msybe they thought the river is close enough to fill the kettle"

"The view from the window is just like a picture – choosing a riverside room was definitely a wise decision. You can see the Singapore River, its bridges, and Clarke Quay. Although the windows are sealed, the room's ventilation system is excellent; there's no stuffiness or strange odors. Singapore is humid, so I assume the sealed windows are to prevent the room from getting damp. The location is central, offering a quiet escape from the city buzz while being incredibly convenient for transport. If you're traveling with elderly family members or children and need to take taxis, nearly every attraction is easily accessible from here. It's also fantastic for a leisurely stroll; the surrounding area has no super-tall buildings, just a historic and charming neighborhood. I absolutely love this kind of urban character. The room, though small, has everything you need. While the room facilities and bedding might not quite meet five-star standards, and the single bed is a bit narrow, these are all acceptable given the numerous positives, haha! The front desk staff were lovely, and the buffet restaurant staff were very efficient. The egg pancake at the breakfast buffet was good, and dining outdoors was very pleasant. The room service staff were also quite decent. The bedding wasn't changed daily; during our three-day stay, they only emptied the bins and replaced the linen. As a traveler who enjoys immersing myself in local culture, this century-old building offers excellent value for money."

"10/10 for location, cleanliness of the rooms, good pool with view, organised restaurant, good linens and towels and good interior. The flavoured yoghurt on the breakfast is good, put many pumpkin seeds on it 👌😋 Suggestion: a grommet hole in the ledge of the bar where the kettle is will be very good to add so you can just slip the power cord to reach the power outlet. To improve: Staff should be welcoming, cheerful and warm to elevate the guest experience. Note: the information on the TV says breakfast starts at 6:30am but they actually start at 7am."

"Good location. Walkable to public transport. Efficient check in. Nice room with all you need for stay. Love the gym area however some area are closed down for maintainece i suppose. Nearby hawker stall. It is a good stroll down the Robertson area if you want a quiet singapore experience."

"The environment is good, the pool is very good, but it is best to live in a better room. If you like a creative hotel, you can consider this one. I am tired of staying in other hotels before coming to live here. It is not recommended to live on the first floor. There are people running around and the view is average, but honestly, the bath facilities in the hotel are very good, especially the bathtub and table lamps and bathrobes."

"I booked a superior room with bakcony for 1 day and through another company the same type of room for next 4 nights! The night shift receptionist was really rude and told me for the 1st day i booked a superior room with balcony but the other 4 not! He also told that i did not understand what i booked!!!!!! After circa 10 minutes of arguments i told him we will see what is wrong or right next day!!! Next day i just presented my booking and the day shift receptionist was soooo kind and he said that i can be in a room with bigger balcony !!! So the management has 1. To check all the web-partners and to give the same names of the room types 2. The room type description has to be in all papers of the booker 3. Some receptionists are really rude and terrorize the guests!!!!"

"Hotel is conveniently located near Orchard Road and one of the wallet-friendly hotel you can find within Orchard Road. Room is quite small with limited amenities. Pillows could have been better as it gave me stiff neck the very first night of use. Hotel check-in was easy but rather strict as all hotel guests need to register with the front desk. Overall would still recommend this hotel cos of the good location and wallet-friendly price."

"Hotel location is excellent and steps away from MRT. Room lighting not working as intended. Individual light switch not functioning, only master switch is working. No facility or maintenance staff at night. Mattress is aged, lack of support. In room phone not working. Bathtub shower height not convenient for elderly. Breakfast acceptable, but coffee machine need some upgrade. The hotel need a complete refurbishment, current state in my humble opinion don't meet hotel standards at that price point. Front desk staff service are excellent, commendation to Mr Surend for trying his best to make our stay pleasant, despite having issues with room facility. Overall, hotel room in poor condition but the hospitality makes up for the part it lacks. They have the people, but the hardware definitely require major upgrade.
