What I like: Friendly housekeeper. Property is new and clean, the bed seems to be clean and hygienic. No dirty/dusty spots in room and at corners. Drinking water dispenser is available at common area. Iron & ironing board at common area. Table & chairs at common area is helpful for getting some work done on laptop. Great place for a good night sleep, no noise issues during my stay. Standard USB ports (2x) on the power socket is available, if you forget your charger or need more ports.  What can be improved: Slow Wi-Fi (DL: 4mbps, UL: 0.5mbps) but it's likely an issue with the area and not unique to this property. Wi-Fi password can be displayed in room or common area. Onboarding and checking in process can be more seamless. Sound proofing of rooms is not great. No hairdryer. I did not use the pool, but if you plan on using it, you may need to inform property owner to prepare beforehand as there were little water in the pool.  I hope the cleanliness continues to be uphold and all is great with this property, thank you!

Modern hotel with a great location in Iconic City and many dining options nearby. Staff service was efficient throughout my stay. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices, although not buffet-style. The only downside was some noise from the highway beside the hotel interrupted my sleep quality after a long working day.

Not really worth the money. No tv, no kettle, not even a mineral water provided! No iron and hair dryer. Just a place to sleep. Not recommended for leisure, just to have a good sleep.

We are here for our honeymoon, and we are so overjoyed to check in here. The atmosphere and surroundings are wonderfully peaceful and serene, making every moment together feel truly magical.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Excellent Stay at Chariton Alma, Bukit Mertajam** I had a wonderful stay at Chariton Alma, Bukit Mertajam. We arrived around 2:00 a.m., and the check-in process was quick and hassle-free, which was greatly appreciated after a long journey. The hotel has a lift, making it convenient for guests with luggage. Our room came with two queen-size beds and was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The room was well-equipped with all the essential amenities, including a kettle and complimentary coffee and tea-making facilities. The bedroom and bathroom were both spotless and well maintained, providing a comfortable and pleasant stay. Overall, I was very impressed with the cleanliness, convenience, and comfort offered by the hotel. I would gladly give Chariton Alma 5 stars and would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Deluxe Room was smaller than I expected, especially if you are traveling with larger luggage or planning to stay for several days. While the room was functional, the limited space may not be ideal for business travelers who need a comfortable working environment. The hotel’s location is one of its main advantages. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, and nightlife options nearby, with many places to eat, drink, and socialize within walking distance. The area becomes quite lively and crowded at night, making it a good choice for travelers who enjoy the local nightlife and entertainment. However, parking is quite limited, and you may need to park along the roadside if the hotel’s parking spaces are full, which can be inconvenient. Overall, my stay was average. The hotel is suitable for light travelers or those looking to enjoy the vibrant nightlife and nearby dining options. However, it may not be the best choice for business travelers or guests seeking a spacious room and a quieter environment. While the stay was comfortable enough, there was nothing particularly outstanding that made it a memorable experience.

The room is not very spacious, but it is acceptable for the price and suitable for a short-term stay. The check-in process was easy, with very clear photos and detailed instructions provided by the host. The host contacted us via WhatsApp and was always responsive and quick to reply. The room was equipped with a portable electric stove, kettle, and glasses, which was convenient. The mattress was a bit old but still comfortable. One downside was the presence of Charlie ants in the bathroom, even though we followed the host’s instruction not to open the window. However, the host had informed us in advance about the possibility of Charlie ants due to the paddy season, which helped us stay alert. The towel had a slight unpleasant smell, which could be improved. Additionally, the swimming pool for the serviced apartment is quite small and is separated from the residents’ pool, which is significantly larger.

stayed here for one night , cleanliness is ok but can be improved. Basically, it's what you get for the price you paid. Overall it is ok if you are looking for an affordable hotel. There's a lot of parking space there , so if you are driving , parking is not an issue.

The picture in online is quite nice, but the actual staying is quite shocking 😅 When we first enter the lobby, we are impressed, cos for an old shop lot, the lobby is giving a good impression with it's bright lighting and cleanliness. Then we faced several difficulties that we need to highlight for all visitors who wish to book this hotel (for the owner also, I hope you see my review and make some improvement that will definitely increase your customers and rebooking) 1. We changed room for three times. The [first room No. 29] is with a big hole/maintenance door in bathroom ceiling that exposed all the electrical wire which may caused danger to life. Some more got a line of ants all around the room ceiling and floor. The [second room No. 32] is quite nice, bright and comfortable but the water heater is not working with no hot water and the water pressure is so small. Then finally we changed to a good one. 2. The price we paid is for room with window, but I rather don't want cos it doesn't play any purpose except as a decoration, at the same time without curtain! (All the rooms we changed are without curtains) So anyone can look into our room when we have the lights on 😅 3. Super helpful front desk. The owner should reward the Sabahan lady who helps us to change room. She walks up and down to get us a comfortable room. We really appreciate it a lot 🙏🏻🥰 If not, I'll leave a really really bad review here cos we are really tire with all the hassles 😒 4. For those who like to stay upstairs (first/second floor), there's no lift, so you will need to climb stairs. Bringing elderly or OKU, can only stay at ground floor. 5. All the rooms we been to has a common issue -- it's not basic clean 😅 The toilet has urine stain, the bedsheet has 2-3 hairs on it, and the table and teacup are definitely not for use one (I don't dare to use 🤣) 6. The last room we stay has flies and we smashed them onto wall cos we're too tire to wait and change a new room aldy. At least we finally get a room with hot bath water. 7. Soundproof is not good. In the room, we can hear the sound of people talking and passing the hall, and the car honking. For us is ok, cos we are deep sleeper, but for those who are sensitive, I don't think you will get a good sleep here 🤣 Overall, the good things of this hotel: 1. It's budget, so ok lah 2. The front desk is helpful and responsive 3. The overall amenities still ok (available: free filter water, TV with wifi, mirror in bathroom, water heater; NOT available: no toilet tissue, no hangers but it has hanging rack) So conclusion is, if you're just need a place to bath and sleep, then may consider here. In my opinion, it will not be a good place for 'enjoy hotel time'. So it makes sense for the price paid. Thank you for attending to us.

Although the original accommodation could not be received, the landlord quickly arranged other room types for us. My family and I liked the new room type and learned that this is an upgraded room type. The room design is full of childishness and is very suitable for a family with children. There were also some minor problems during the stay, such as the water heater in the shared bathroom was unavailable and the kitchen sink faucet leaked. In addition, there was no major problem overall.
