"My stay at the Opera Hotel has a pleathora of mixed feelings. I'd classify it as perfectly adequate for a short business trip if you get a good deal, but there are a few significant issues that really hampered the experience. 🚩 super narrow rooms, almost no space to put suitcases 🚩 upper mattress is moving while you are sleeping, so basically you end up falling from the bed 🚩 key card issues"

"I usually don't bother writing reviews, but this place had quite a few things to complain about. **Location:** It's a bit of a distance from the old town, about a 15-minute walk. However, it's conveniently located right next to a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining very easy. **First, the positives:** The room was quite spacious, just as shown in the pictures. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Slippers and toothbrushes were available (though you had to ask the front desk for them). **Now for the downsides:** **Service:** The female front desk staff's English was very poor, making communication a real challenge. The male front desk staff (who also seemed to be working as a bartender) had an unpleasant attitude. **Facilities:** The pillows were absolutely dreadful! The filling felt like lumpy, hard cotton, making it completely impossible to sleep! **Booking & Room Setup:** When I made the booking, I clearly specified 3 adults + 1 child (9 years old). After checking in and getting to our room, we found that the sofa bed hadn't been made up, but instead, they had provided a baby crib. When we contacted the front desk, their response was that ”their booking information indicated there was a small baby in the group.” Even so, is it reasonable to expect three adults to sleep in one bed? They eventually made up the sofa bed, but only provided a single duvet. When we asked the front desk for another duvet or to swap it for a double one, we were told that housekeeping had already left (it was 6 PM at the time), and they had no idea where the blankets were... **Late Checkout:** When I inquired about a late checkout, the front desk staff pretended to check the booking, typing away on the keyboard, only to then say, ”Sorry, we're fully booked.” However, I quickly checked online myself and saw that the same room type was clearly available on Ctrip... In my opinion, a direct 'no' would have been far better than such a disingenuous charade! **Conclusion:** Based on all of this, I won't be choosing this Mercure hotel again for my next visit."

"Everything is perfect! The location is close to everything, and the famous Lido restaurant is just a minute away. There is a park right in front, and the hotel was easy to find! It is clean, and they do a great job with the cleaning!"

"The hotel's location is very central, the reception staff is friendly and polite. Breakfast is adequate and varied. The rooms are clean, there is a kettle, and the bed is comfortable. If I come back, I will stay at the same hotel again. You can leave your luggage free of charge after checking out and explore."

"Everything is clean and well stocked! Reception staff were friendly. Central location with 10-15 mins walking direction to Riga Main bus station. I booked it because it is a hotel chain and had good reviews. Another reason for booking with this hotel was its proximity to central bus station which I need to go at end of my staycation."

"This lovely hotel located in the old town, walking distance to most of the tourist sights. They had laundry facility at level 4 with a payment of EUR 4.50. There had lot of cafes and restaurants around them. Room size is big and clean. Stable free wifi connections."

The hotel environment is lovely, and there are many Instagram-worthy spots nearby. They also serve breakfast, though we didn't try it, so I can't comment on the taste. "I was very satisfied with my stay this time! The room was incredibly quiet and comfortable. The hotel's facilities are all very new and well-equipped. The most pleasant surprise was the hairdryer in the room, which was incredibly powerful and dried my hair super fast – a huge plus for anyone with long hair! Plus, the front desk staff were very friendly and polite, and check-in was handled very efficiently. Overall, it offers excellent value for money."

"The room was clean and well located, approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of the city centre. The only negative was that the air conditioning/heating was not working during my stay, but the receptionist gave me an electric heater which mostly made up for it. Considering the temperature was -15° during my stay, I was not too cold in my room."

"I had a wonderful stay in this spacious and spotlessly clean room. I only stayed for one night, but it was so comfortable that I wished I could have stayed longer. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was tastefully decorated in calming colours, creating a cosy atmosphere. It also had a kitchenette with a microwave and fridge, which was convenient. A pleasant surprise was the free laundry facilities in the basement, including both a washing machine and dryer. This was incredibly helpful during my trip. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was very well equipped, making it a great choice for both leisure and business travellers. I’d definitely love to stay here again!"
