Hotels near Yuki Park Zoo, Kofu

There's another Toyoko Inn near Kofu Station, but this one was great because it was cheaper, even though the public transport access was ever so slightly less convenient. It's located right in front of Kofu Castle, which was perfect for an early morning stroll. After an early breakfast, it was also close enough to walk to Takeda Shrine. The breakfast itself was also neatly prepared.

I didn't think amenities like toothbrushes and combs needed to be in the room; they could have been placed next to the front desk. The service was simple, yet very good with warm responses when needed. Dining out was a bit disappointing for us non-drinkers, as there were mostly izakayas. It would have been better if the offerings at Tokiwa Hotel were more substantial. The price was high, but the content (buffet) was underwhelming.

Excellent position near train station. Clean and comfortable room, perfect for one night stay. Breakfast not enough but coffee was good. I not understood meaning of that not cooked egg...i wanted to eat and egg but cooked no matter what way 😃 Oh...and the room window cannot be opened?! That's pretty same like a room without windows..☹️ 2-3 cm maximum open for that window

I stayed in a smoking room. It was clean and didn't smell of cigarettes! However, the sound of the door opening and closing and voices from the next room were quite loud... That bothered me a lot.

Yanagiya is a nice little local onsen. They do not have too many rooms so you will not feel overcrowded. It is a nice place to spend for days to relax your body and mind. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They can speak limited English but in case you come across any issue with language, feel free to use translation app. If you are driving, the onsen is easy to find and there is a carpark in front of the Onsen with plenty of space. There are also 2 x EV charging but not sure if they are for onsen guess. The room is spacious, clean and tidy. The air conditioner is featured with heater and cooler function, so you don't have to worry about weather during winter and summer. The hot spring is open for 24 hrs, except time when they swap between male and female access, usually it takes 30 minutes and they take this opportunity to clean up the facilities too. Food are generally fine and portion is reasonable. Staff are caring d considerate. We have two kids at age of 7 and 9 and they do not take spicy or raw food. When they noticed, they have offered to tailor made the breakfast for the kids so that they don't prepare food that kids do not eat.

It's within walking distance from the station. I stayed in a dormitory. I arrived around 4pm and checked in by myself. I didn't meet any hotel staff until I checked out. The dormitory is a business hotel room with beds lined up. That's why it's called ”as is”. As a remnant of the business hotel, the rooms have a unit bath. The rooms aren't large but are cleaned. There is a refrigerator in the hallway on each floor. There is a lounge on the first floor and the kitchen can be used. It's not a problem for experienced travelers, but those who aren't may find it confusing. For me it was a cheap and sufficient guesthouse.

It is located outside the city, but there are restaurants and supermarkets within 1 km, so I don't think it will be troublesome for meals. If you want to go out a little, you can rent a cycle for free, so you can go out hanging out. The room is a large single room, and the baggage is sufficient. It was comfortable with a small TV, a small refrigerator, air conditioning and a unit bus. There is also a hot spring on the first floor, and I think it is perfect for those who want to enjoy the large bath. There are all amenities. I think there was no coffee though there was tea and water in the common area. I used it for a night stay at an old hotel, but I think it is worth more than the price.

Staff Ryo san is very friendly and helpful. He is very informative and I enjoy chatting with him. Our room comes with a toilet as shown. An option for a private bath is available costing 500 yen for 30min. I approached Ryo san and book my timing (first come first serve) only after I checked in. My one night stay comes with a simple breakfast the next morning. The homely meal is rice with egg omelette and some other dishes. Roughly a 15min walk to Kofu train station.

The location is great. The price reasonably reflects what services and facilities you can get from the hostel. I think the hostel should clearly state that the room users need to make the bed while checking in and remove the bed sheets and towels during check out when booking the hostel room.

Perhaps because it's near a sports park, it felt just like a dormitory for college students on a training camp. The room itself was spacious and clean, but the common areas were dirty. Luckily, I was able to sleep peacefully last night, but as an old man, I don't think I'll ever use it again.
