"Last year, in early August, the same room cost around 1700, but this year, booking two months in advance, it was only a little over 500. Honestly, the hotel being so affordable was a major reason why I came back to visit again. The bathroom has a standard Japanese-style wet/dry separation, which even some much pricier hotels I stayed in later didn't offer. The amenities included something for relaxing your feet, haha, it still makes me laugh thinking about it! If you check in early, you can request a room with a view of Universal Studios. Universal Citywalk is right downstairs. There's enough space to lay out two 32-inch suitcases flat."

"The location is absolutely fantastic! The airport shuttle bus goes directly to Universal Studios. After getting off, it's just a short walk following the signs. Right outside the hotel's back door, a right turn leads you straight to the subway station 🚇. We booked a triple room. It wasn't huge, but considering it's Japan and in the Universal area, it's probably to be expected. It was a bit snug, which is typical for Japan, but for the price, I felt it offered pretty good value for money. Stepping out of the hotel, you're right in the middle of a commercial center, with everything for eating, drinking, and shopping – a true one-stop shop. It's incredibly convenient for indulging in some retail therapy and delicious food. Here's a little tip for Universal Studios: If you want great photos, try to find one of the staff members. They are excellent photographers and the pictures turn out amazing. We randomly asked an elderly cleaning staff member that day, and it turned out he was a photography pro! Every single shot was fantastic, providing 100% emotional value. On top of that, after taking our photos, he even gave us some Universal stickers, which was incredibly touching!"

"They offer complimentary hot dogs, waffles, drinks, and desserts upon check-in, which is a lovely touch. The bathtub is large and very comfortable for a soak. There are also Type-C outlets on the walls, which is super convenient. The hotel is right outside USJ, so no need to rush in the morning. Overall, a much better experience than their other location (Rokujo)."

"This hotel is super convenient for visiting both Universal Studios Japan (USJ) and the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan! There's a supermarket downstairs and plenty of dining options nearby. The breakfast was delicious, especially the udon noodles and ice cream. The night before heading to USJ, you can walk just a couple of minutes to the street in front of the entrance to buy merchandise, so you can dress up nicely and get into the full USJ spirit on the day of your visit!"

"The environment is excellent, and I had a very comfortable stay. The window offers a great view, the room is spacious, and the ceiling height is good. I looked forward to coming back to the hotel every day. I visited Universal Studios for two consecutive days. The hotel is right by the JR station, offering a quiet escape despite being in a bustling area."

"Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Kintetsu Universal City! The location is unbeatable—it’s only a 1-minute walk to Universal Studios Japan, making it incredibly convenient to visit the park from early morning until closing time. The hotel is also surrounded by plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping options, so everything you need is within easy walking distance. One of the highlights was the lovely surprise gift from the hotel—an exclusive Original Pass Holder featuring Sesame Street characters from the park. The glitter inside moves when you shake it, making it a fun and unique souvenir that brought a smile to our faces. After checking out, we were able to take the airport limousine bus directly to the airport for an additional fee, which was very convenient and made our journey home much easier. Overall, this hotel offers an excellent location, comfortable accommodation, thoughtful service, and a few special touches that made our stay even more memorable."

"This was my second time staying here, and the experience was great again! The service was excellent and very welcoming. The room was spacious and well-equipped. The hotel isn't right next to Universal Studios, but it's just a short walk, which is fine. There are tons of restaurants and convenience stores around Universal, which is really convenient! Getting to downtown Osaka is easy by subway. Overall, a really good experience."

"Extremely satisfied with my stay! The hotel's location is super convenient, and the room was spacious, bright, and very clean. The bedding was so soft and comfortable, I slept like a baby all night. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, always ready to help with anything I needed. Breakfast was delicious and had a great variety. The facilities are excellent, offering great value for money, and I truly felt at home. I'll definitely choose this place again next time and highly recommend it!"

"The hotel room and facilities were very comfortable and clean. Self-collection of all the toiletries/dental/grooming items at the hotel’s ground floor next to the check-in area. Check-in process was very smooth and took less than 10 seconds with the front desk staff being very friendly, warm, helpful and professional. The buffet breakfast was international and delicious. Also, it’s walking distance from Universal Studios Japan (USJ) and I came to stay the night before going to USJ and should have booked to stay the night after as well instead of going straight back to Kyoto, so would highly recommend everyone going to USJ to stay here both before and after."

"Great value hotel with excellent transport access! This hotel is a bit way off Umeda or Namba but these places or anywhere else in Osaka can easily be accessed in a matter of minutes because the Taisho MRT station is just across it, making travel to any part of the city super convenient! You’d be greeted by a nice covered patio at the front, perfect while waiting for your Uber ride if you ever needed one, or just to spend some quiet time. You can also use their lobby where you can find a drinking station (coffee, tea, anyone?) Rooms are pretty spacious in Japan standards, though all amenities can be had at the reception. The toilet & bathroom were decent & clean albeit a bit cramped. Of course, they use those amazing Japanese toilets! It also has a public bathroom, but I fell the public bath in capsule hotels are much better. A microwave is available in each floor. As mentioned, location is probably the best selling point of this hotel. Just across is the Taisho MRT, a few stops away is Umeda through the Osaka Loop Line, while Namba is a few minutes away with the Hanshin-Namba Line or the Nagahoritsurumi Ryokuchi Line. Bus stop is also very near. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and izakayas nearby. I wish I was able to try their breakfast but I had to try breakfast recommendations elsewhere. This is a strong 4/5 for me. Would stay here again if I’m in Osaka, it is highly recommended if you’re hitting Universal Studios Japan, Osaka Aquarium, and Expo 2025 Osaka!"
