This hotel is conveniently located near Sakurajima JR Station, making it super easy to get to Universal Studios Japan and the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. While it's still accessible to central Osaka areas like Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Umeda by train, it's not as convenient as staying in the city center itself, as trains here only run every 15 minutes, which is less frequent than downtown. The hotel is close to Osaka Bay, offering some nice views, but aside from a convenience store, there aren't many dining options nearby.
The hotel itself looks quite luxurious, is very spacious, and has a large number of rooms. It offers pretty good value for money compared to other hotels in the same price range. You can also store your luggage before check-in, and they even deliver it to your room when you do check in. In terms of service, one of the bellhops was very enthusiastic, but the lady at the front desk who handled my check-in was a bit indifferent and seemed impatient when there were language communication issues. The hotel's onsen (hot spring) is also quite large and very relaxing.

The lobby and exterior of the hotel are very atmospheric, and you can also enjoy the sea view of the pier outside. The room interior is quite basic, and the facilities didn't feel particularly new. For 1200, I had high expectations for a themed room, but was disappointed upon entering. It's very close to the film studio.
The food at the hotel isn't expensive; I think the noodle and fried rice set for 56 RMB, and the beef bowl for 56 RMB, were the best I had in Japan.
I recommend going to the lobby for photos and dining, and staying at a cheaper hotel nearby. The last four photos are from the film studio.

The room was spacious. Toiletries were collected at check-in. On a weekday, we went to Universal Studios in the afternoon, entering after 3 PM (bought tickets for 2 adults and 1 child at a nearby Lawson convenience store for 780 RMB). The next morning, we took a boat from a nearby pier (400+ RMB for 2 adults and 2 children, bought on-site, and you can book the aquarium for the morning).

I stayed here for one night before the Expo. The price was reasonable, and it's just two stops before Yumeshima Station, so even though I left at 6:30, I was able to arrive at Yumeshima by 7am, which was very convenient.
As other reviewers have mentioned, I remember that the stairs up to the hotel entrance were quite steep and I was a little out of breath.

It’s about 1km away from the USJ entrance or a station away. Breakfast timings started a bit too late for me as I have to queue early at the park hence had to forfeit it. However, when I get to try, it does have a good selection. My room was decent size but the bed and pillow was way too hard. And you can easily knocked into the basin in the bathtub or while on the toilet bowl. Also, I happened to get one of the furthest room from the lifts. After a long day at USJ, the distance does matter. The thing I do like about the hotel was the overall feel around the hotel is very European style with a 7-11 nearby.
Recognized for its sustainable initiatives, the hotel has been awarded the “4 Gyoiko Sakura” rating under the international certification “Sakura Quality – An ESG Practice.”

Absolutely fantastic. Close to universal studios, train station and lots of convenient stores. The room was small for three men but managed to make it work. The under the sea theme rooms are impressive and the window view good but if you want a better view go up to the onsen and you'll have a spectacular view of the city. For an extra few dollars give the onsen a try it is amazing

This is my third time staying at this hotel. The first time was 10 years ago, so naturally, the hotel is quite old. With a constant stream of tourists, the facilities aren't new either. However, Japanese hotels generally maintain their properties quite well. While I've seen some reviews complaining about minor details, I personally haven't encountered any issues, which is why I keep coming back here. The location, well, it's unbeatable – right outside Universal Studios Japan (USJ). Eating breakfast outside the hotel is perfectly fine too, as there's a Lawson convenience store right next door with everything you could need (for value breakfast, Lawson is the way to go). Every time we visit, my child always wants strawberry popcorn. There's a shop selling it on the right-hand side of the path leading from the hotel to USJ. There are souvenir shops all along the way, so you can buy things after you leave the park. The last shop before exiting the park has the most comprehensive selection. We didn't buy express passes. We arrived at 3 PM and bought evening passes, but we didn't get enough playtime, so we bought full-day passes the next day. It was still quite crowded, and there were queues as expected, but nothing like 90-minute waits. It was all within an acceptable range. So, yeah, that's about it.

We stayed at The Singulari Hotel & Skyspa at Universal Studios Japan during our 4th trip to Japan and our first traveling with our auADHD toddler. This was our second hotel in Osaka, and we arrived by taxi directly from our previous hotel. Taxi tip: make sure you show the taxi driver the hotel name and address in Japanese. Our driver initially dropped us at Universal Studios Japan instead of the hotel entrance and that cost us when it showed him the Google maps address.
The hotel staff themselves were excellent. They deal with international guest on the daily and some speak English. Our forwarded luggage was received without issue and delivered directly to our room, which made arrival seamless. They have forms for luggage transport themselves that I used for our KIX airport hotel. Service throughout our stay was efficient and professional, and the staff clearly explained all hotel procedures.
The biggest advantage of this property is its location. It is about a 10-minute walk to the entrance of Universal Studios Japan, which gives you a real edge if you plan to rope drop. The subway station is directly outside the hotel entrance, making transportation extremely convenient. Universal Citywalk is steps away, with Starbucks, Lawson, Bikkuri Donki (Great for familes by the way), shopping, and countless restaurants all within immediate reach.
If you’re visiting USJ, I strongly recommend arriving at the park entrance by 7:30 a.m. We arrived around 8:30 a.m., and it made the first ride strategy noticeably more challenging. Luckily disability service helped a little as it was similar to Disney when you have to go to the Fast Pass staff to get a return time but USJ uses pen and paper. The earlier you position yourself for rope drop, the smoother your morning will be. Lines were extremely long and we were only able to see half the park. Unless you have 2 days at USJ, I recommend buying the Express pass packages as early as possible as they were all sold out the day of. Definitely a big regret as we only had 1 day there.
The onsen sauna was of an average size. After long park days, it was incredibly relaxing. The baths are separated by gender, and there are no private rentable family spaces, so that’s something to keep in mind if traveling to onsen if you are not comfortable going commando with others.
Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom felt slightly dated but it was clean and fully functional. One thing I missed was having a small kitchenette and in-room washer/dryer. Laundry is available on the spa floor via coin machines, but in-room units would have been more better.
On our second day, we made a day trip to Ghibli Park in Aichi, which took about 2.5 hours each way via Shinkansen and local transit. It’s doable but long. If your primary focus is Universal Studios Japan, this hotel is an excellent strategic base. If you plan multiple long day trips outside Osaka, you may want something more centrally located. I should have planned a day to stay at Nagoya for my Ghibli Park day.
Overall, The Singulari is ideal for travelers prioritizing proximity to Universal Studios Japan, easy transit access (but not centrally located), and post-park relaxation in a quality onsen setting.

This hotel is perfectly situated right outside Universal Studios, and just a few minutes from the subway station. It was so convenient! When we came back late at night, we could grab a number at Sushiro, go up to rest, and then come back down to eat. The next day, we went to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, and taking the boat from the nearby port was much easier than the subway. The breakfast was incredibly rich, with both Western and Japanese options – we really enjoyed it. Plus, I was pleasantly surprised that they provided an extra bed for our child, even though many hotels don't do that when the booking states 'includes 1 child'.

Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel is right next to Yotsubashi Station. If you're coming from Shinsaibashi, it's quite a long walk for an in-station transfer, which isn't very convenient. There's a McDonald's and a 24-hour supermarket downstairs. However, the 10 AM check-out time is unacceptable; hotels in Tokyo and Aomori all have 11 AM check-out. On the first night, I asked the front desk for an extra pillow and blanket but was told they didn't have any. Breakfast access is denied after 9:30 AM, and the selection is very limited. The room size was the smallest I encountered during my entire trip to Japan. The price is a bit high, making the value for money just average. While a 26-inch suitcase can be opened, for a family trip, kids pretty much have to sit on the bed as there's not much space to move around. The bathtub and toilet are in the same bathroom, not a separate setup. Overall, if I visit Osaka again, I won't consider this hotel. I strongly advise against booking the breakfast; for over 100 yen per person, you're better off getting something at McDonald's downstairs.
GGuest User✨ Acro Capsule Hotel (Japan) 🇯🇵
My first time staying in a capsule hotel, and honestly, I was more impressed than I expected!
📍 Location: Amazing! It’s very close to Dotonbori—just a few minutes’ walk to food, shopping, and nightlife. Also near train stations, so getting around is super convenient.
🛏 Capsule Room: I thought it would be very small, but it’s actually more spacious than expected. I could stretch out comfortably. There’s decent privacy with a curtain, plus a power outlet and personal light.
🧼 Cleanliness: Highly rated! The bathrooms and showers are very clean. Amenities are provided, including towels and a hair dryer.
👩💼 Staff: Friendly, helpful, and able to communicate in English, which makes everything much easier.
👍 Pros:
- Great value for money, perfect for budget travelers
- Excellent central location
- Secure system with lockers for your belongings
⚠️ Cons:
- If you get an upper capsule, climbing up and down can be a bit inconvenient (though it’s slightly cheaper than the lower one)
- Some noise is unavoidable since it’s a shared space
- It can feel a bit warm or stuffy at times
💬 Overall: Perfect for solo travelers or anyone who wants to try the capsule hotel experience in Japan. If you don’t mind limited personal space, it’s definitely worth it!
GGuest UserThe overall experience was good, and you simply can't beat the location—it's the best in Osaka, especially in Namba. However, the room was quite small, and the facilities are limited. If you're looking for a place to sleep and explore the city, it works well, but don't expect much space or extra amenities.
AAnonymous UserThe front desk had a staff member who spoke Chinese, which made check-in super easy. The room was spacious and well-laid out, and it's really close to the subway station! Plus, it's right next to some very upscale residential buildings in Osaka.
GGuest UserCompletely exceeded my expectations! I personally think the location is great too, especially for this price – you wouldn't find such a well-located place in China for the same money. The hygiene was also good. The first-floor common area is very spacious and free-flowing. The front desk is on the 18th floor, and next to it, they even have facial cleanser, toner, and lotion available, which was incredibly thoughtful. There's also a coffee machine. Is the exchange rate really that good that the price is so fantastic? Anyway, I'm genuinely quite satisfied. The room has a washing machine and a microwave. Whether or not you use the washing machine is up to personal preference, but the microwave is incredibly convenient. There's a Lawson convenience store not far away, so you can buy food and heat it up – excellent!
GGuest UserI stayed at FL Hotel Dotonbori for two nights. When I arrived at Osaka Station, I was happy that the hotel was within walking distance, so getting there was very easy.
The hotel is located slightly behind the main Dotonbori area, but it’s still close enough to walk to all the main attractions. The location is definitely convenient.
When you enter the hotel, the amenities are placed in front of the reception, so you need to pick up whatever you need from the lobby before going up to your room. They provide pajamas, slippers, and other basic amenities.
One nice thing is that they offer free breakfast every morning. It’s simple, just two pieces of bread per person and hot drinks, but it’s still a nice touch. Everything is set up in front of the reception, and you can take it back to your room.
For me, there were a few downsides. I noticed a suspicious stain on the blanket on my bed. It wasn’t on the bedsheet itself, but on the blanket, which made me feel like housekeeping may have overlooked it.
The room size is about average for Japan. I was able to fit three large suitcases in the room, but there wasn’t much walking space, so I had to step around them.
Another issue is that the rooms are not very soundproof. Unfortunately, during my stay, my neighbors were quite loud at night, so that affected my sleep
KkennyanHad a really great hotel experience. The room was cleaned daily, and the hotel is surrounded by a bustling commercial area, making shopping very convenient. The soundproofing in the room was excellent; I didn't hear any noise at all. Plus, the breakfast was abundant, and it offered great value for money.
Uuuxoxo99Everything was good overall. The room has a modern theme, and the cleanliness is still very good.
The room is bigger than most hotels in Japan and we could open two big suitcases comfortably.
The location is excellent. It’s right next to the famous Shinsaibashi shopping street, and within walking distance to both Shinsaibashi Station and Namba Station. I would rate the location 100/10. There’s also a FamilyMart just opposite the hotel, which is very convenient.
The service was good and the hotel allowed us to store our luggage even after we checked out, which was really helpful.
The only thing that could be improved is the bottled water. There were only two bottles of water in the room and they were refilled daily. Because of that, we tried asking for two more bottles from the reception before heading out each day. For the first two days, the staff were happy to give them to us, but on the third day a staff member mentioned that each room could only get two bottles. It would be better if the hotel could provide more bottled water in the room or increase the limit for guests.
AAnonymous UserComing from Kansai Airport, you do have to transfer a few times on the subway. However, the hotel is very close to Juso Station, about a 6-7 minute walk. Juso Station has a food street, so dining is super convenient! It's not crowded around at night, so sleeping is very, very quiet! There's a convenience store at the intersection, and Don Quijote is just across the main road! There's also Daikoku Drugstore nearby! Although breakfast is simple, it changes a bit every day, which shows a lot of thought. You'll definitely be full and satisfied! The lobby also has vending machines with beer, drinks, and ice cream! All your normal needs can be met here! Personally, I think even though the location is a little out of the way, it makes up for it in value for money, and transferring subways is still very convenient~
GGuest UserThe room is small but can open two suitcases. The public bath and spa are excellent. Close to JR station and donki. But the staff and hotel policy are terrible and I could only rate it woth adverse comment. First, at checkin the staff did not tell us the spa world could be used even after checkout, so we had no idea we could still stay to play the spa world the next day until we learnt it from other residents in the hotel. If we have learnt it earlier at checkin we might adjust our travelling plan as we checkin late at night from landing. Second,
upon checkout we asked for luggage storage service, which is very basic services of hotel, but the staff said if we were leaving and not staying for the spa, they would not keep our luggage. I am not meaning leaving Japan but I just go out from breakfast or some shopping. I have visited Japan multiple times and stayed in many hotels or residence, and this is the first one not offering luggage storage service. Please do not call this a hotel if you refuse to offer luggage storage service. Third, the hotel prohibited any slipper and every one had to walk back to rooms in bare feet after public bath, this sounds dirty while the staff was wearing slipper. Hotel could provide slippers and require resident to wear hotel slippers only. Bad experience and poor service.
