"The hotel is super convenient to the Otaru canal and walking distance to all other locations as well. The breakfast was great, will be better if the daily bf can be different dishes. Excellent to have a massage room service arrangement, appreciated much. And Also, they have gone extra mile to transfer my son's sweatpants to our Sapporo Hotel with an estimation delivery fee lower than they quoted as well. And we got it before check out too. We are very delighted and glad we have chosen Torifito Otaru Canal. Will come to the same hotel if we visit Hokkaido again."

"This guesthouse seems to be run by Chinese owners, which is nice. My room was right by the entrance. After checking in at the front desk, I couldn't find it until I turned around... it felt a bit like sleeping in a guardhouse. The soundproofing isn't great either. Because of its peculiar location, it gets very noisy in the mornings. And the room next door seems to be a staff office, which also generates a lot of noise. However, the room was warm and clean, perfect for a night's sleep, and the price was excellent. The only downside is that it didn't have a private bathroom. The common areas were clean and there was even coffee available, which was a pleasant touch."

"Fantastic hotel, I lost my wallet and front desk staff requested housing keeping staff to search my room again after checked out. The housekeeping staff manage to find my wallet and return it to me. I am so glad that this is a trust worth it hotel, I will go back next year again."

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, and the room was perfect for us. The room had 4 beds and windows, which made it spacious, bright, and comfortable. The hotel is in a very good location, making it convenient to get around and visit nearby attractions. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the bathtub. It was a great way to relax after a long day, and our children loved it as well. Overall, we really liked this hotel and had a pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend it to families looking for a comfortable hotel in a good location."

"This hotel in Otaru is fantastic for those traveling by car. Parking is super convenient and very affordable right next door. It’s also incredibly easy to walk out and explore the nearby shopping arcade. The rooms are spotless, tidy, and feel very new. The hotel staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. I honestly think I’ll be staying here again. After dropping off my bags, I could immediately head out to browse the Kitaichi Glass Museum, which has so many exquisite and beautiful glass products. Then it was a quick trip to Kitakaro and Rokkatei to grab lots of souvenirs. It was all so convenient and close by! In the afternoon, I even had time to relax with coffee and afternoon tea. I'm really looking forward to my next stay here!"

"Honestly the only praise to give to this hotel is the staff attitude and the location which is near the canal. The staffs were-Helpful and dedicated .  I can accept the hotel is old and not so spacious. But one thing I really can’t take it is the level of the bathroom. I can’t understand why the level is so high. We need to step a big leap to climb in order to get into the bathroom. Also to get into the bathtub to stand to shower was dangerous too. It was unbelievable deep. I almost fell.  This hotel is really not suitable for elderly people. And need to pay extra careful attention when you climb to the bathroom and to the bathtub. Sometimes I do not understand why can’t just list out that you would need to collect onsen tax. If I know I need to pay for that I would not want to choose this hotel. Because I do not go for the onsen."

"Positive: 1. Great Location decent size room with double sized beds with big space to move around compare to most other Japanese hotel 2. love the indoor parking at basement garage, especially during winter no snow cleaning required every morning. Negative: 1. lift is out of service, very inconvenient for people with big luggage, had to carry all the way up to the 3rd Floor. 2. Fake carpets on stairs, almost tripped over couple of times. 3. Owner never responds when assistance needed, upon on check-in, the pin code been given is useless because the room door are always unlocked, actual key is placed on the table in the room. Tried to contact the owner via WeChat WhatsApp line phone calls none of above responded, just seemed like the hotel is unmanned the whole time. 4. Had a little incident one morning where one of the guest parked his car right front of the parking garage door, which blocked my way out, again had to contact the owner, never responded, got no choice but to contact police for help."

"Otaru is definitely worth a one-night stay. There are three shopping streets, not just the single few-hundred-meter canal often mentioned in travel guides. The Sankaku Seafood Market to the left of the station looks much more appetizing than many other places. Heavy snowfall actually makes it less ideal for exploring all of Otaru. The hotel offers a candlelight performance at night, which sets a romantic mood. Paying an extra 200 for that isn't unreasonable. Hotel downside: The room has a lot of motion-sensor lights. If you get up half-asleep at night, they suddenly all switch on, making it as bright as day. You can't turn them off; you just have to wait for them to go out on their own."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our family had a wonderful stay at UNWIND Hotel Sapporo. The room was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. We loved the cozy atmosphere and the friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start each day. We also enjoyed the free wine service in the evening, which was a lovely touch and made our stay feel even more special. Parking was convenient and reasonably priced at JPY 1,500 per night, making it easy for us to explore Hokkaido by car. Overall, our family loved this hotel and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for families and travelers with a rental car!"

"Following the navigation on Ctrip leads to the correct building, but Google Maps directs you to the annex, which is a five to six-minute walk away. The annex doesn't have a front desk; check-in is done via self-service machines. In the main building, Indian staff are available to assist with machine check-in. The hotel is conveniently located, just a three to five-minute walk from JR Station and Otaru Canal. The location is excellent, and the rooms are standard small. There's a public bathhouse available. However, the room rates are significantly higher than in Sapporo city."
