"i could hear the traffic clearly on the 3rd floor, so they moved me to the 12th floor where it was mostly quiet. there was an electrical buzzing sound coming from the bathroom, i thought it was the lightbulb, but when i got in the shower it sounded like it emanated from the vent. i shut the bathroom door and it was almost inaudible from bed so i was able to sleep. definitely quieter than most of the japanese hotels i've experienced in this price range. very clean. very polite staff. free water machine on every floor (i think). free coffee in the lobby. convenience stores nearby. expensive grocery store ~200 meters. regular grocery stores are a bus ride away, so it made more sense to me to get the buffet. breakfast costs 1800yen when paying in-person, but when adding it on trip.com it was less of an increase in cost. it was disappointing because there were pictures of different kinds of fish online and on the picture in the hotel lobby, but they didn't have fish as seen kin the pictures. i still purchased the breakfast when i extended my stay because they had eggs, good vegetables, and ice cream. the fruit was in syrup so i'm guessing it was from a can. orange juice was from a carton. i didn't see any meat in the curry, just potatoes. overall, mostly cheap, but with a few tasty items of quality. only 2 washing machines and they also dry the clothes so it takes ~2 hours. 400-600 yen for washing and drying. it dispenses detergent automatically, but the detergent was insufficient so i added my own and rewashed it; therefore, i was unfortunately hogging 1 of the 2 machines for several hours. plus it cost me well over 1000 yen."

"The hotel is clean, and the front desk staff are very helpful. There’s a laundry machine on every floor, which makes it very convenient for guests. The only downside is that no hot bath. The location is excellent — Omicho Market is just steps away. Higashi Chaya Geisha District is within waking distance also. Overall, this hotel is good staying at. But, I personally feel hotel rate is at higher price due missing hot bath amenities.."

"The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of several attractions. Kanazawa Station is easily accessible by multiple bus routes, which is a real plus. For breakfast, we tried both options during our two-night stay: The first morning, we had the three-way blackthroat seaperch dish at Omicho Market. The fish was delicious, and the ochazuke (rice with tea) was fresh and flavorful. This is a great option if you plan on trying multiple local foods throughout the day, as it's not too filling. On the second day, we opted for the buffet breakfast on the hotel's first floor. There was a wide variety of choices, but it did get quite crowded, so I recommend going early. This is perfect if you have travel plans for the day, as a hearty breakfast here could easily carry you through lunch. The room itself was reasonably spacious. The TV conveniently displays real-time occupancy updates for the public bath. Compared to other business hotels in Japan, Mitsui Hotels tend to be more consistently reliable and modern."

"Great location, very close to the station and surprisingly quiet. However, there was a strong BBQ smell in the hotel hallway, likely from the yakiniku restaurant downstairs. It actually smelled quite good! We even ended up eating there. My clothes definitely smelled of grilled meat afterward. I didn't take any photos of the hotel itself, but it had a rather artistic vibe to it."

"Hakuchoro is a classic in Kanzawa, the decor is very tastefully done and the overall atmosphere has character.  It’s onsen is natural spring water and though the bath are relatively modest, it never gets crowded.  They provide free bus shuttles to and from the Kanazawa station and is a very helpful feature. Rooms are large and well appointed and everything in the fridge - water, tea, orange juice and beers are free and topped up everyday. The stained glass in the lobby area and in the rooms are nice touched included the very nice pottery ware used for breakfast! Breakfast buffet spread is both western and Japanese and they even now have sparkling wine and sake for breakfast!  Definitely has character!"

"Enjoyed my stay. Traditional tatami mat throughout and hence shoes are to removed at entrance. Only 5 mins walk to omichio market. I had a very good sleep and rest. The hotel offers osen, complimentary late night ramen and ice cream/yakult with manga corner. Convenient location where walking is possible to most attractions like Kenroku-en and Higashi Chaya District."

"This hotel was the best one throughout our trip. Having visited Kanazawa before, I knew all their hotels are basically on the same street, making the location extremely convenient for attractions and well-situated. So, I didn't choose the usual hotel but picked this one which seemed like a good value for money. And the check-in experience was absolutely perfect. It's been a while since I've experienced Japanese-style service, and their service here was quite good. Although it's not a traditional ryokan 'okami' service (where they unpack your bags), all their staff members were incredibly polite and enthusiastic. The hotel is directly opposite Oyama Shrine, and you can walk through to Gyokusen-en Garden. We spent about 20 minutes exploring it in the morning. However, one thing to note is that linen changes and bathroom cleaning are subject to an additional charge. This might be something to consider for longer stays, but since we were only there for two days, it wasn't an issue. We booked a room with some basic kitchen utensils, so we were able to buy ingredients from the supermarket and make sukiyaki, which helped us balance our diet during the trip. The hotel is also very close to Omicho Market, making it convenient to buy fresh seafood and other groceries. For those on a shorter trip, cooking might not be necessary. Also, the hotel is quite new, and the room wasn't small, so it was very comfortable."

"Everything was good, but I'm afraid I can't give high marks for the facilities and service. It was self-check-in, and cleaning only happened after a few days' stay. I was a bit annoyed to find the hotel was cheaper after I booked it. When I asked about a room upgrade, they seemed really surprised, like, why be surprised if it's not possible? It's like going to a public bathhouse, seeing people naked, and then being surprised – the sign says no surprises! Secondly, there were no facilities whatsoever. It's one thing not to have disposable slippers for adults, but they didn't even have them for kids, only adult-sized ones. My child was clattering around in oversized slippers. If they don't cater to children, they should state that they don't accept kids. As for disposable skincare products, razors, and combs, forget about it, definitely none of those. Although my son said this was the worst hotel we've ever booked, I don't think it's that bad. The large public bath was quite comfortable. I hope the owner improves things."

"The spa pool is kind of small, but overall services was good. We drove to the famous Kenroku-en garden and reached there within 8 mins. And 3 bus stops away Kanazawa station, very convenient."

"This hotel is fantastic! It's centrally located near many attractions, with a convenience store and mini-supermarket just downstairs. The room's attention to detail was perfect, from the foot massager (with disposable socks) to the facial steamer, Panasonic smart hairdryer, a completely separate wet/dry bathroom, and a bathtub. Even the kettle, which wasn't noisy, was a nice touch. The breakfast was also exceptionally rich and exquisite, with delicious curry fish fillet rice, radish fish ball soup, and chewy mochi dumplings, showcasing Kanazawa's local delicacies. This hotel offers incredible value for money!"
