"We are so surprised by the quality and service of this hotel, as we expected older facilities etc.
The location is super convenient - directly above JR. We drove so we parked downstairs which we can use multiple times a day.
Very accessible to shops and restaurants - can't think of a better location than this one.
In terms of service - staff speak good English and very friendly and approachable. We had a do not disturb sign on during cleaning hours but instead of like any other hotel to just skip your room until requested, they put a bag of supplies outside our room with towels, robes, toilet paper, amenities refreshers, drinking water and everything else they supply in our room, which was absolutely fantastic.
I am truly amazed and would stay at this hotel again if I visit Kokura and will recommend others too.
Highly recommend that you book superior rooms.
Thank you staff for this wonderful experience!!

"Location of the hotel is good, parking in the surrounding area is very convenient! Bathroom design is hilarious! Curtain of the bathing tub is good and several hanging hooks were broken! The most important thing is the tub is very slippery without any anti slipping coat! Too dangerous! A anti -slipping mate Should be included!
For the breakfast, food choices are various but the quality needs to improve! Egg roll just doesn’t taste like traditional recipes!"
"The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from JR Kokura Station, which is quite convenient. The entrance is small, so be careful not to miss it. The hotel is a bit old. I booked a superior room, but the size still wasn't as large as those at other places like the Daiwa Roynet Hotels. The room had a massage chair, which took up space for me, though others might like it."
"The location was ideal for my work trip. Fuss-free inn with unmanned reception after midnight. If you are travelling with family, I'd suggest staying around Kokura area where the hotels have bigger rooms."
"This hotel is great for those traveling by car. It's about an 8-minute drive to the Kitakyushu Outlets. The area around the hotel is very quiet, so if you prefer a lively atmosphere, this might not be the best choice for you. The breakfast is mainly Japanese style, and there aren't many options. It costs about ¥125 per person, so I'd recommend eating breakfast elsewhere."
"Just walk straight ahead from the railway to the hotel. There is a large bookstore and market next to it. It is also very convenient to go to Kokura Castle. Along the road there is the area surrounding Galaxy Railway 999, so you can take a stroll and take a look!
I stayed in a Japanese-style room, and the mattress was ready as soon as I entered. I thought it would be hard to sleep on, but it was unexpectedly comfortable. It's very clean and the bathroom feels spacious."
"The Hotel is located very close to the Wakamatsu Railway station. The area around the hotel is a very quiet area with few shops around. I arrived the hotel at around 2200 and by then all the shops around was closed. I managed to find a family mart near the station and for dinner i went to Sukiya which I understand is open till 3 AM. The staff was very courteous and the checking in process was seamless. The rooms were small and very similar to other Japanese hotel rooms. The bedding was clean and neat and the linens were nicely tucked in. Since the air conditioning units remote was in Japanese language , had bit of a trouble in getting the AC started. However this was immediately resolved by the staff at the front desk and the AC cooling was very good. The toilet was small and was similar to other Japanese hotels. The supplies in the toilet was nice and adequate.
The Morning breakfast spread was nice with western and Japanese cuisine and the food quality and taste was very good. I will definitely recommend Route Inn to all business travelers travelling to Wakamatsu / Hibiki Nada Area"
"I stayed there on the 11th floor for two days, from Thursday to Saturday. Noise wasn't a problem at all. Overall, the hotel was okay, except for a dirty coverlet with a blood stain and some dirt. I asked the front desk to help with it, and they fixed the issue. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast and dinner were included for free, but I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food. The dining area was clean and tidy. In the room, the bed was a good size—not small—and there was a standard desk and chair, which worked well for me. Considering the price and the location—just a 5-10 minute walk to the train station—the hotel was pretty decent."
"The location was also good, not too far from Kokura Station.
The cleanliness, facilities, and breakfast were all neat and excellent.
However, I stayed on the 9th floor, and the soundproofing wasn't very good, so I could hear sounds from outside clearly.
It is generally quiet at night, but if you are sensitive to noise, I recommend asking the front desk to change your room direction.
Other than that, it was perfect, so I would likely stay here again."
"We booked one night in this hotel. The room size is as stated , very spacious with a beautiful view of the city, the room can even sleep for 3 persons. Toilet is clean although it’s an old style and design with a bathtub.
Breakfast have western and Japanese food , eggs have a few ways to cook and will deliver to your table after order. Service is good.
This hotel is next to the train station. A convenience store is just located in the middle of passage connecting to the hotel and station.
Free parking is available in the hotel, which is very convenience for guests with cars."

Great
GGuest UserIt was located in a really nice place if you like calm quiet locations (Mojiko). It’s also by the water so it’s really pretty. The only downside is it’s kinda far from all the major stuff in Fukuoka but other than that it was really nice! Good for people looking for an escape from a major city! There’s multiple convenience stores near by as well!
GGuest UserHotel was located right next to the airport with free shuttles only taking a few minutes. Good sunsets from the airport island. The hotel even offered a free dinner! Simple curry and rice but a nice surprise. I don't think you can find a better deal which includes full board. Not much around the area but this just gets you close to the airport for early departures. Very good smaller airport. I enjoyed flying out from here much more than Fukuoka. Fukuoka airport has a lot of construction going on. Getting to the airport via public transportation does require a metro ticket and a bus transfer.
MMr Adam PorterWe were visiting to watch the rugby at the Mikuni World Stadium and wanted somewhere to stay near by. This place was an absolute gem, incredible room, huge jet bath with TV, breakfast served in bed and the best part was the view from the balcony included the Mikuni World Stadium. Staff were amazing, they didn’t speak English but were very quick to assist and help. They received post for me before my arrival which they gave to me as soon as I arrived, there was a private lounge area to rest and refresh when we arrived too early to check in. I would certainly revisit, especially if you’re headed to the stadium. I wish I’d taken more photos of the amazing room!
SShin-Woei FannThis hotel locates near by the Kokura train station makes it one of the most convenient hotel I have ever lived.
Unfortunately I could only reserve a smoking room, but the smell was not too strong to clear out by some splash. I would suggest the manager to inform smoking customers not to smoke in the bathroom, in order to avoid the smoke on the shower curtain.
And the services are pretty good provided by kind stuff with multiple language skills. There is even a snack and drink corner 24 hours on first floor.
The only deficit of this hotel might be the sound proof of the top floor, 6th floor I lived. The sound could not penetrate through rooms, but there were multiple huge machines on the top of the room running through day and night and generated big noises. During the last night I lived, one of the noises was similar with the sound of unlocking the door, so I couldn' t sleep well because I felt like somebody was unlocking the door.
PpotatobreezeStayed at Hotel Livemax Kokura Ekimae and loved how convenient it was — right next to the train station yet surprisingly quiet. The room has all the basic amenities you need, plus a microwave and kettle in the room which was super handy. Room size is just right for travelers with a small cabin luggage, clean and functional. Perfect for a short stay in Kokura!
GGuest UserLocation is walkable from the JR station, surrounding malls and tourist spots, while not being in the centre of it all, making it a quiet and comfortable stay. There are many buses nearby so taking the bus instead of train was a good option to have. Walking distance can also be reduced sometimes via taking the bus. At the same time, the airport bus is at the JR station, so it was very convenient. The hotel while a little dated, is well maintained with floors segregated by non-smoking and smoking. Luggage deposit before and after is also available and the staff are very helpful with that. The bedside console comes with an alarm clock and even a music player where ambience music can be played - it is a very nice touch to have!!
AAltheaThe hotel appeared exactly as described. No major surprises. Contactless check-in process so ensure that you have filled out the information of all the visitors beforehand via the link procidws. They will verify each guest individually when you physically check-in. English speaking customer service is available.
Do note that there is no separate dryer. Washing machine comes with a drying function but does not dry the clothes completely.
Major attractions are a walking distance away. Paid parking available away from accommodation. Costs 300 to 400yen for overnight parking.
Overall, a very pleasant stay.
GGuest UserOverall an excellent hotel, uses an automated system for contacting.
to receive service There isn't any receptionist. But the only way to contact the hotel when there is a problem is the phone number. We encountered a problem that we did not receive an e-mail from the hotel regarding the entrance code and check-in method. And this time, roaming was not turned on. Makes you feel uncomfortable enough. But when you call The staff at the other end of the line can speak English and provide good explanations.
GGuest UserThough location is a little far but the free shuttle bus to and fro Orio station made is super convenient for an onsen retreat. There's a direct bus from Kitakyushu Airport to Orio station too, which makes it even better. Thankfully, the staff kindly took note of the shuttle reservation request made during booking, otherwise, it would have been very inconvenient to contact them and expensive to get to the resort by other means. They left a note to check the official website for pick-up point but there was no specific information - something that can be improved. The location was found to be BEHIND Maxvalue Shop (see first few photos). The resort is visited by mainly locals so it was helpful to see and ask them for confirmation.
Facilities might a bit old but generally clean so it was okay. The room is nice and comfortable, particularly the view. It was very nice to see the hotel using reusable wares with even a refillable jug to get water from a machine at the shared space. Both sides of the natural onsen is switched between male and female everyday. Supper tantan noodles is great! Breakfast is not bad with both fusion western style and traditional Japanese options. It was a very nice and relaxing time!
