Mesmerizing hotel! As soon as we stepped inside, we immediately felt so relaxed. Everything in this hotel contributes to giving it a very peaceful and quiet atmosphere, from the super friendly and accommodating staff to the slow-paced breakfast and the sea view from the bedroom. This is a new hotel and the equipment is very modern and elegant (bathroom, toilet, walls) and the bedding is extremely comfortable, including super pajamas! The breakfast is served at 7:30am or 8:30am with Japanese and Western options available. They also offer dinner options with a few hours' notice. There is a bus stop nearby but it's definitely better to have a car as it seemed difficult to walk around and find beaches/restaurants, though that also makes the place very quiet and relaxing. Excellent value for money, we browsed a lot of options and this might be the best one if you do not want to go for a resort-style hotel.

Very clean and well organised. The guest house is kept spotless and has all that you may need. From the rooms which are very well organised and each person has his unique space kind of like a small room to himself, to the temperature of the aircon, which too often is kept very low, whereas here it is kept cool but not freezing. The service is very good, there is always someone in reception from 7AM to 11PM and they are always ready to help. Toilets are super clean and well kept, and you are given 2 towels daily for you to use. Also, if you stay more than 5 nights, you get a new set of bedsheets to use (you have to change them on your own). The kitchen is very well equipped and if you want to cook, they have all the necessary tools. Also, the common room is very well displayed, it is cosy and a nice space to socialize. An additional room to hang to dry wet clothes is outside of the back entry and can be very handy after a day at the seaside. Overall, one of the best guesthouses I have been in during my trip in Japan.

Very clean, and super close to the shopping street, so the access is excellent. The staff were also kind, which made for a great stay. (I ate a lot at the breakfast buffet, and they kindly watched over me, haha.) I'll definitely be staying here again!

This is a great resort on the island. The rooms are spacious, and they have a bonfire at night. Check-in was quick with no waiting. Everything was excellent, perfect for a relaxing stay. The only minor downside is that it's a bit far from the city center, but there are always taxis waiting.

My stay was from late February to early March, and I was in room 5503. The first thing I noticed, and it's a major plus, is the fantastic location. It's incredibly convenient for island hopping, being right next to the Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal. The bus terminal is also within walking distance, making airport access and getting around the city a breeze. Even as a first-timer to Ishigaki, I felt very comfortable getting around. Breakfast was served from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM at ”Toreador” on the first floor, a Japanese and Western-style buffet. I used it and was pleased to find a good selection of Okinawan dishes, like Goya Champuru and Okinawa Soba, really adding to the vacation feel. It was great that it opened early, allowing plenty of time to eat even before heading out to the islands. The breakfast ticket system was well-managed, and the instructions at check-in were clear, so there was no confusion. My room was generally clean and had a calm atmosphere. While the facilities weren't brand new, they were well-maintained and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, and I was able to get a good rest after tiring days of sightseeing. Being on a higher floor was also a plus, as I wasn't bothered much by outside noise and enjoyed a peaceful stay. The staff were very polite and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. Their explanations for sightseeing and hotel facilities were easy to understand, which was reassuring. I feel that this kind of attentive service significantly enhances the overall satisfaction of the stay. Overall, the hotel offers an excellent balance of location, convenience, price, and service. I'd particularly recommend it to anyone planning to visit the outlying islands. Even including the actual breakfast and use of the public bath, my satisfaction was high. It's a reliable base for an Ishigaki Island stay. I would definitely want to stay here again on my next visit to Ishigaki.

The BREAKFAST HOTEL PORTO Ishigakijima

Facility was very nice - especially with the fridge and washing machine, which makes it very convenient for travellers on extended trips. Breakfast, as the name suggests, is a very strong point of the hotel with fresh sashimi and a lot of local delicacies available. Although on busier days the restaurant might seem a bit small, but overall it's managable. Even for those plans without breakfast they would provide you with a smoothie everyday as well so that's a good point. Also enjoyed the free drinks available, especially on the alcoholic drinks provided in the condonium. Distance-wise it was within walking distance to the city centre and very close to the airport bus stop.

The experience was quite disappointing. The hotel receptionists were not helpful and friendly when we ask questions face to face and through phone call. The toilet is quite small. Surprisingly there is no room cleaning service if you stay less than 3 nights, not even clearing your trash bins. During our stay, we heard repeated announcements late in the night and they were all in Japanese. Only when we translated them by our phone we realised it was about the fire alarm. A lot of other hotel residents gathered in the lobby waiting for further instructions. We saw a staff sitting in the office but until the end of the day no one give any information nor explain anything. We ended up going back to our room after our own assessment.

It's a really nice place and comes fully equipped, including a washer with detergent and a spacious balcony for air drying clothes. The toiletries and amenities are also great, and even the toilet paper is good quality, not thin or flimsy. You can occasionally hear sounds from the corridor, but they are brief and not very disruptive. There is no street noise, very quiet. However, if you book a second floor room, you will need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Free parking is available. The location is a short walk to the town area and public market, and about a seven minute walk to the bus stop. Before check in, you need to call the property to get the door code, as there are usually no staff on site, you could do it via app so it is fre. This may be inconvenient for some guests. I recommend calling in advance, as they do not always pick up immediately.

This hotel is very new and clean and modern. The location is prime. Right across the street of the terminal. If you choose higher floor, you will enjoy the ocean view with clear view of the terminal and can even see the big cruise ship. Right next to the hotels are some shops and restaurants. The room itself is extremely spacious and plenty of space for your suitcase and clothes to hang around to dry. The breakfast is good. You can order as much as you can and it was very tasty. You can also store the luggage in the hotel to suit your day trips to the nearby island. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone but please be sure to book early as it runs out fast.

This hotel's location is absolutely perfect! It's within walking distance of the bustling downtown area, the port, and the bus terminal, which was incredibly convenient for dropping off shopping bags or taking a quick break from the heat. Plus, having a convenience store and a drug store right next door was a huge bonus for any last-minute needs. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean. I noticed insect repellent spray in the hallway, but I'm happy to report I didn't encounter any bugs, which was a relief. The nights were quiet, and I wasn't bothered by any noise from other rooms, allowing me to get some really good rest. What truly made this hotel special were the thoughtful and charming details – like the colorful tiled table in the room, and the lanterns provided for using the rooftop area. It was such a lovely touch. Stargazing at night and enjoying the sea view during the day was incredibly relaxing. I would definitely want to stay here again. This hotel was truly a highlight of my first trip to Ishigaki!
