Amazing
MM18425****We were very satisfied with both the room and the service. I highly recommend booking a package that includes both breakfast and dinner to experience the full Japanese service. For families or couples, after checking in, you can use the in-room phone (dial 8) to reserve a 50-minute private family bath session with the front desk. (You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability.) The cost is about 1680 JPY, which is quite reasonable. Prices for additional drinks, meals, and SPA services are also within a sensible range. One thing to note is that the hotel is located halfway up a hill, so I don't recommend walking there if you have large luggage. You can contact the hotel in advance to inquire about shuttle bus options or take a taxi from Ito Station. If you absolutely must walk, do not follow Google Maps' route from Minami-Ito Station, as this path involves climbing stairs and going over a hill.

AAnonymous UserIt’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!

YYoly ZI originally planned to leave a 5-star review because the hotel itself has a very nice, cozy atmosphere. However, I ended up extremely disappointed due to something being stolen during housekeeping service. I travel frequently and stay in hotels often, so I’m usually very careful. This time, I didn’t bring many valuables with me, so I didn’t lock my suitcase when I went out. I had bought a few items from a drugstore and left them in the room. When I came back, one of the three packages was missing. I assume they didn’t take everything to avoid suspicion. I’m usually very cautious about housekeeping and potential loss of belongings, which is why I selected the “do not disturb / no cleaning” option. However, this hotel requires daily cleaning of the in-room hot spring bath. Since I booked a top-floor room with a private onsen, the front desk informed me that staff would still enter the room to clean it. I never expected that even opened, low-value cosmetics would be taken. The missing items were worth over $60. While it’s not a huge amount, it still feels very upsetting. The hotel itself is fine, but please be very careful with your belongings if you stay here. If you leave the room, make sure to take your valuables with you. The safe in the room is extremely small and cannot hold much. Overall, this experience was very disappointing.

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

AAnonymous UserHighly Recommended!! Key Point: The hotel includes a one-day admission ticket, allowing access to three attractions within one day: (Cactus Zoo, Izu Granpal Park, and the New York Lighting Museum Garden). We recommend checking in after visiting Mt. Omuro, enjoying a one-night stay with two meals at the onsen (hot spring), and then visiting the above attractions the next day! Perfect for families and couples! We recommend driving or walking to the hotel from Mt. Omuro/the zoo. Environment and Location: The hotel is located next to Mt. Omuro, about a 10-minute walk from the Mt. Omuro Ropeway; it also has a private entrance to the Cactus Zoo (accessible via a gate next to the hotel). The hotel features a terrace and platform with stunning surrounding views, perfect for taking photos, overlooking the sunrise, night views, and Mt. Omuro. Rooms and Facilities: Spacious rooms with a semi-Western, semi-Japanese design. Meals: The hotel offers a Japanese set breakfast and a kaiseki dinner.

GGuest UserBeautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus. Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!

GGuest UserThe structure seems to be a legacy of the bubble era. The luxurious layout allows you to move between the main building and each building via pedestrians. It's reminiscent of the 5-star hotels of Phuket and Bali of the past. The all-inclusive plan also feels like good value. Unfortunately, however, maintenance of the interior and exterior has not kept up, and various parts are badly deteriorated. The bathhouse is also made of good granite, so it should be polished properly. The exterior walls are so black that you want to use a Karcher cleaner. I wish it was a little cleaner.

CcometdebrisI stayed at Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace for 5 nights booking though Trip.com. Be warned that problems may occur when booking through travel websites such as this one. I booked a standard room with no meals. What I did not know however, was that this reservation did not include any room cleaning services for the entire stay, no taking of garbage or towel replacement, no bed making, nothing at all. When I contacted the travel website to show my disappointment, they immediately contacted the hotel requesting a full refund. I did not expect a full refund for my entire stay. What I did expect, was for someone to acknowledge the fact that this important piece of information should have been indicated someone on the online reservation confirmation. Neither the travel site nor the hotel would acknowledge this. The travel site replied with a response from the hotel, saying that I was a regular guest and knew about this “regulation”. It’s true, I have visited Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace on several occasions when housekeeping services were not included. However, this was clearly indicated on the reservation, and I stayed during the COVID STATE OF EMERGENCY, when it was standard practice for many hotels to exclude cleaning services. My recent stay was at the beginning of August, WHEN THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AND COVID RESTRICTIONS HAD BEEN LIFTED. It is no longer standard practice to exclude cleaning services at hotels in Japan. The hotel stated that I visited the front desk every day to get towels and never mentioned the need to clean the room. This is untrue. I only came to the front dest 2 times during my stay, and this is because room cleaning staff entered my room on 2 occasions, so I was expecting them to clean or take out the trash, but they did nothing and left. I expected them to return, however, they never did. The bottom line is the hotel is responsible for communicating their services to customers, especially after covid restrictions have been lifted. Blaming guests for their lack of communication is completely unprofessional. Now in regards to the hotel itself, I have stayed here on several occasions, I find it to be perfect, mainly because of the location and modest room size. The hotel is conveniently located near Lake Ippeki (Ippekiko) and there is plenty of nature and a few trails in the area. You can step out the door and be on a simple hiking trail within minutes. It’s a very quiet area and very good for children and families. Though the hotel is dated, the rooms are all quite large and include a living room, kitchen with cooking supplies and dishes (but no forks or spoons), a large bath, and both Western and Japanese style bedrooms. Some may be discouraged by the age of the hotel (it’s quite old and could use some renovation), but if you don’t mind that, then I would highly recommend staying here. One point that I need to mention is in regards to the bedrooms. The hotel has replaced their blackout curtains with super thin curtains which allow sunlight to easily shine through. We were woken up at 5:00 am every morning because of the bright sunlight in our room. If you’re a light sleeper, please take note. I wish management would consider this. Also, it’s highly recommended that guests come by car, public transportation is very inconvenient in the area. Overall, Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace is a very convenient place for a reasonable price. I will definitely be staying here again in the future, but hope that they act with a little more professionalism and consider the fact that the covid state of emergency ended long ago.

GGuest UserYou can indeed see the sea. If you're driving, arrive early; the roads are difficult and hilly. Not recommended for those with extra-large suitcases, as there are long stairs leading up to the hotel. The hotel's interior is beautiful and cozy, perfect for a party. The owner is very friendly and can be reached on WeChat. The hotel offers quick service, ice cream, and other snacks. There's a comic strip on the second floor.
