Great
GGuest UserStaycity is great, although they duplicate charged me which I have already paid thought agent earlier. Agent helped me to contact Staycity and they corrected it immediately. When I arrived Staycity, they knew and told me the money would be refunded to my credit card shortly.
Staycity is my second time to stay, it is convenient, clean, kitchen, bathroom, bedding….. room size, everything is great. I absolutely will recommend my friends to stay here when they visit Manchester.
GGuest UserI expected much better service from a branded hotel like this, but the front desk staff were quite subpar and didn't seem willing to help at all.
Also, the hotel's setup for requesting room cleaning easily causes misunderstandings. On our second morning, we clearly took down the ”Do Not Disturb” sign before going out, but the room was left uncleaned. When I called down to get fresh towels and mentioned this, the front desk tried to shift the blame to us, claiming we never took the sign down.
On a positive note, I have to praise the housekeeping staff—they did a great job and kept the room sparkling clean.
SSaransklipi[”The hotel is right next to the airport, which is super convenient for travel. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the service was warm. It's a worry-free stay if you're catching a flight, and it offers great value for money.”,”The location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk to the airport. The rooms are quiet and clean, with complete facilities, and the staff are friendly. It's my top choice for a transit stay.”,”It's very close to the airport. The room is spacious and clean, and the soundproofing is good, so I had a very restful sleep. It's a perfect place for a transit stay during your journey.”]
Ttraveller2002Absolutely loved our stay at The Midland Manchester – everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely looked after, and the service throughout was faultless.
The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud – we had some of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in ages! The room service was prompt, professional, and the food was delicious – a real treat after a long day exploring the city.
Speaking of relaxing – the spa was absolutely divine. Clean, calming, and wonderfully designed, it was the perfect escape. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had – incredibly soothing and tailored to perfection. If you’re in need of some proper pampering, this is the place to be.
Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better. Right in the heart of Manchester, everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel still manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle.
All in all, The Midland is a true gem. Comfortable, elegant, and run by an outstanding team. We’ll absolutely be back!
CChiyudejiaoziThe room was tiny, only big enough for two beds. However, it was very clean and just a 6-minute walk from Manchester Airport, plus it was easy to find by following the signs. Ibis and Holiday Inn are actually right next to each other, door to door. Most people just stay a night before an early flight, so it perfectly meets basic needs. I arrived at the hotel at 11 PM and left for the airport at 5 AM the next morning. It was affordable, highly recommend!
GGuest UserThis hotel was a positive surprise to me. I did not expect more than a bed to sleep close to the center of Manchester for the price I paid for the stay and they offered so much more with the friendliness and professionalism of the frontdesk service staff, the varied breakfast and comfortable bed. The hotel is however a bit outdated and I missed a usb plug in the room for charging mobile as I am a European traveller and the plug is different. Luckily front desk helped me with an adapter for the night. I also had a small lunch at the Garden restaurant and whether you go there for a drink or food you will find nice staff and you can taste the freshness of the products used.
All in all, great value for money.
TTheVoyagerThe room was clean and cosy and front-desk was friendly and responsive. We booked mainly to check out the pool, spa and gym as advertised by the hotel. So it was really disappointing when we found out that these facilities were closed on Xmas day and on other days operated at limited hours when we were there. The pool, sauna, steam room and gym are operated by a separate company from the hotel. That meant operating hours of those facilities are not catered for hotel guests at all. And it also meant sharing the facilities with members of the gym. So if you’re thinking of staying here and using the gym or pool, just bear those things in mind. Breakfast selection was quite limited. Very bare selection of any salads or greens. Quite embarrassing as well to see that clean plates were not available several times when there were less than 20 covers at breakfast. I understand it was the holiday season and the hotel is understaffed. But I’m sure this is not the first Christmas or NYE the hotel has encountered.
GGuest UserCheck in was dreadful! On arrival 2 members of staff behind the reception desk were staring at a screen, I assumed they were dealing with 2 ladies standing slightly to one side, but when i managed to catch one of them's eye, he asked if he could help & seemed surprised that I was waiting to check in! I ushered forward the lady waiting in front of me. When my turn arrived I gave my name and that I had a room for 2 adults & a toddler & had requested a travel cot. I had no phone signal in the hotel so could not bring up my booking. He requested that I go outside to get signal which I did. On finding my online booking confirmation I went back inside & gave him the booking reference number to which he snappily told me it was wrong. I showed him. He asked me to write down my full name on a slip of paper the he proceeded to print off details of my booking thrust it at me & asked if that was me!
He insisted that I had made a booking for 2 adults & 2 children. I read the booking details directly from my phone - 2 adults, one 2 year old, travel cot required. Eventually we were allocated our room & given the key. This whole process took 25 minutes, which also then put our restaurant reservation back. Not great with a tired & hungry 2 year old! (When we did get into our room, there was no travel cot. this was supplied later.) On a positive note, a member of staff who seemed to have some supervisory/managerial capacity did apologise and gave me free parking for the night.
Other than this dreadful start, all was OK, just what one would expect from a premier inn.
GGuest UserOverall, it was a good experience. Ideally situated for JetPark Ringway, but getting to the upper level of the hotel car park isn't clearly signed, and parking spaces are tight.
