GGuest UserSanta Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable.
A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled.
Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe.
In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative.
It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice.
Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

GGuest UserThe room is quite small and there isn't much space for suitcase or two people to sit and eat a meal but the bathroom is very very nice and the bed is quite comfortable. Staff is there 24/7 to help you and the location is perfect to the shopping centre and local restaurants! Really recommend!

IIrmak AkgunTo be honest the location of the hotel is perfect. You can stay in Palma- old city then if you have a car you can enjoy and go anywhere you want so you can both see both side old city & playas( south of the island) - when it comes to the hotel, of course they are 3 star and it was high then our expectations.. breakfast is not strong but if you want to start to the day with something more than coffee and croissants it is good.. cleanliness and amenities are good for a 3 star hotel, also thank you so much for the lady who works in night shift- she was so kind and helpful.

GGuest UserThe lobby is very nice and modern, the rooms are okay, a little outdated. The shower was not very nice (a bit yellow and the water did not go down the drain properly), but the bed was comfortable. The hotel is cheap compared to other 4* hotels and it is definitely reflected in the quality. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were friendly.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is simply perfect – central, quiet and ideal to reach everything quickly. The staff is extremely friendly and sympathetic, you feel welcome from the first moment.
The cleanliness is particularly positive: the commonly used areas such as shower, bathroom, toilet, living room, kitchen and roof terrace are thoroughly cleaned several times a day. This always gives a pleasant and maintained atmosphere.
A total of a really recommendable hotel where you feel well around!

EEmika sanCheck-in was a bit complicated and time-consuming as there was no front desk (you need to contact the hotel staff on WhatsApp). You need to be careful because you can't check in early or leave your luggage early even if you arrive early. Perhaps the canary is more humid than in Europe, the room smelled a little moldy and the room felt damp. There are windows, but is our room a courtyard? There was only a window facing, and the windows and curtains were closed all the time. Also, I think the walls are thin because I could hear music in other rooms.
The door that separates the bedroom and bathroom is unstable and the gap above is large, so it is not recommended for those who care about sounds such as bathing or excretion. Also, since the bathroom only has shampoo and shower gel integrated, I think that those who are interested should bring shampoo and body soap.
The room is equipped with a kettle, microwave, refrigerator, sink and tableware, so you can prepare a simple meal. Isn't it good for people staying consecutive nights?

GGuest Userincredible experience. friendly staff. comfortable beds. spacious and clean toilet. very nice terrace. All i would suggest is add more sockets in the room or add an extension cable. Also adding a shower door would mean alot less water on the floor after every shower. other than that its perfect
