NNguyen Do Nha UyenAfter coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time. Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊 Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away. ⸻ ⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe. Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃. 🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy) Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here. If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️

YYanapatra WinaisiwilaiI had visited Jiufen, Taiwan once before, but this second trip truly exceeded expectations. The view, the atmosphere, the service, and the host’s attention to detail were all absolutely outstanding. The scenery from the accommodation was breathtaking — truly a million-dollar view! The room itself was spacious, almost like staying in an entire house. The price per person came out to just a little over 1,100 THB, but what we received was far more valuable than what we paid. The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, offering us detailed travel suggestions and making us feel as if we were staying at a friend’s home. What touched us the most was that, on the day we left, the host even rode a motorbike to personally drop us off at the bus stop. It’s the little acts of kindness like that that make a place unforgettable.

KKaiHwa93This hotel is super new and very stylish, and the front desk service was definitely 5-star. The only downside is that it's a bit of a walk from Banqiao Station. The main entrance faces the street, but it's next to a coffee shop that blocks the view, making it hard to spot if you're walking from the station.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cham Cham Taipei. Everything exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The hotel is very clean, modern, and well-maintained, making it extremely comfortable for families. The location is excellent—very convenient with easy access to public transportation, shopping areas, and plenty of food options nearby. It made exploring Taipei effortless, especially with family members. The room itself was spacious, cozy, and perfect for relaxing after a full day of exploring. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families looking for comfort, convenience, and great service in Taipei. Would definitely stay here again!

OOKTCGOWe had 3 nights at Harmony in a room with no window, but it did not feel claustrophobic at all. We did have trouble finding it due google maps playing up and we ended up at the sister hotel further up the hill. Thankfully, one of the owners ran up the hill and met us to take us to the correct one Entry to the hotel is a pain when it pouring down with rain while trying to input your details for the QR code. But this was clearly detail in the listing descritption and previous reviews had mentioned this. A huge help would be to to put a larger sign identifying the hotels location. See photo with circle around the name…. Very easy to miss. During the stay, it was very quiet and extremely clean in possible the best location to old street. Literally 30 seconds away. Walk a little bit further and theres a 7-11 and family mart across the street. The wifi is w10/10 so very good for digital nomads. I highly recommend harmony and would definitely stay again.

SsorloMy family and I stayed at the Yun Estate Hotel this past December, and we had a truly lovely time. Nestled in a quiet area, the hotel offers the perfect sense of serenity and escape from the usual hustle and bustle. The absolute highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the accommodation. The room was incredibly spacious, but the game-changer was the private in-room hot spring. It provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all of us, and the kids absolutely loved splashing around in the warm water. We opted to have breakfast delivered to our room, which was a convenient and nice touch in theory. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful but it looked way better than it tasted, unfortunately. While the meal wasn't bad, the flavor didn't quite match the high standard of the presentation. For the little ones, the hotel is a dream. There is a playroom where they can watch movies, as well as a mini race track where they can drive electric cars. To top it off, the unlimited supply of drinks and snacks was a huge hit with them, making the stay feel extra special. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already looking forward to returning in the near future. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing retreat.

GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel because of a concert at the New Taipei City Exhibition Hall. You can drop off your luggage before checking in, and there are self-service kiosks for both check-in and check-out. The room is very spacious! It comes with a hairdryer, 5 hangers, bath towels, hand towels, disposable slippers, shampoo and body wash, and a bidet. However, the water pressure in the shower is really low. I stayed for 3 nights this time and you can request housekeeping (but I just took out my own trash for the staff, as I didn't feel the need for a full cleaning).

GGuest UserThe hotel is big and has good amenities. The only thing missing is a microwave. It was clean in general, but the windows were stained and the balcony was dirty. The location is excellent as it's across from the train station and there's a mall there. The mall is new and has several nice restaurants. There are also many small eateries, a supermarket and a seven eleven nearby. After checking out, we had several hours to spare before our flight. We hung around for an hour or so outside the conference room area which was not in use at that time. A staff came over and rudely told us we can't be there. She thought we had come from outside to use their facilities whereas we had been guests in the hotel for 6 days.

GGuest UserLocation quite convenient as a lot of restaurants, 7-11, supermarket just nearby, not far from MRT. Travel with buses also convenient as many buses pass through the area. Room quite spacious, espexially the bathroom. Though the room facing a main road, but didn't feel noisy. They don't clean the room even for a stay of 4 nights, just change towels. Room quite well equipped n comfortable, value for money.

台中阿源The reception staff was very friendly. I didn't have dinner there. The equipment was a bit old. Breakfast was available the next day, but it was simple. There was nothing special to order. I had thick slices, boiled eggs, and tomatoes that day. The air was pretty good.
