An older hotel with a refreshed exterior, and it's pretty clean inside. At least it's in the city center. However, the service attitude of the front desk staff during daytime check-out really needs improvement. They seemed indifferent when I was checking out – I don't expect a smile, but at least not a look of annoyance. Also, when I called to book a room, the customer service quoted the same price as the booking website. But when I got to the front desk, the quote was 200 more. That felt a bit strange; they basically told me to book through the website instead.

It is conveniently located within 5 min walking distance to Changhua station. However the hotel appears to be passed down for generations, as such the building is rather dilapidated. For example, the water taps leak whenever they are used. There is no hot water for showers. Aircondtioning is noisy and there is almost always a hint of tobacco smoke in the air. Will probably not return to this hotel as there are more modern ones at this price point. But if you need a convenient location near Changhua station, this hotel might be right for you. Oh, and there is a famous meatball stall right at the doorstep. Be sure to purchase a discounted food voucher from the counter. Worth 80NTD but priced only at 40NTD. Many many tourists visit this area for the meatballs. Crowded all day. Be wary of counterfeit stalls that have sprung up in the vicinity.

I returned for a second stay and found the room comfortable and quiet, so I chose to stay again. The breakfast was also delicious and varied 😋, and the price was reasonable. A highly recommended business travel destination.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in my whole 23 years travelling around the world, absolutely outstanding. Spotless, spacious, beautifully designed and decorated, full of anything you could possibly need and more, lovely quiet street, seconds away from the bus stop and minutes walk to Lukang centre. Easy to find, smooth self check-in, very quick and responsive host. The beds, furniture, kitchen, everything is such outstanding quality and so pretty to look at. The rules are respected so the communal living is very pleasant, it's silent at night and social during the day. I regret not having stayed longer.
