Guest User🎉I booked a double room at this hotel and was very satisfied with my stay.
1. The environment was pleasant, the room was very quiet, and the space was large—I even felt it was more spacious than the balcony room.
2. The elevators are equipped with access control and do not display floor numbers, which provides a sense of privacy.
3. The location is convenient, with both a metro station and bus stops nearby.
4. The front desk service is excellent—staff are proactive and patient.
💡That said, there are a few details I hope the hotel can improve:
1. One of the elevators does not require access control and allows entry to any floor.
2. Housekeeping is generally good, but sometimes snacks and tea bag are not replenished. I really enjoy the hotel’s snacks and the green tea they provide.
3. Breakfast offers four set menus, which are quite refined, but a self-service option might be even better. 🧳Overall, my journey was very smooth, and staying at this hotel made my time in Taiwan even more enjoyable.

The hotel location is good. The room we lived in is located is a few stairs away from the Main Street, so it is quiet, but close to walk there. Mr Xu is nice and he picked us up at the Chenghuang Temple and prepared us the umbrella for the rain. The room is full of antique, which reminds us of the old times. A nice trip.

After coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time.
Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊
Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away.

⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen
Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe.
Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃.
🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden
This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy)
Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here.
If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️

Pearly MMy room itself is relatively larger than most hotels in Taipei. It is warmly lit with a large bed, two pillows (plus an extra one).
It has a huge window and a view of the neighboring buildings, but the sun reflects on that tall building in the morning and it’s pretty.
Amenities include shampoo and body wash plus a lot of towels. But I didn’t find bathrobes, no comb, razor, toothbrush. You have to bring those personal things for yourself.
What I love about this hotel the most is that it has a connecting bridge/pathway to Banqiao Bus Station and Banqiao MRT Station. So when it rains, it’s super convenient to walk to your hotel.
I love this! I’m staying here again when I come back.

The room was huge, the facilities were great, and the staff were friendly. The location was very convenient, within walking distance and very close to the LRT, while the environment was quiet and peaceful. There were also small handicraft activities and a mini theatre available in the basement. I did not have the chance to visit the public hot spring, but the private hot spring included in the room was already more than sufficient.
I also loved the AI device for playing music and the smart home control panel for the lights and air-conditioning, which made everything very easy to manage. The room was clean and well maintained, and the overall stay felt very comfortable and relaxing.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay with great facilities and thoughtful in-room features. The view was around 7/10 — not particularly spectacular as I stayed on a lower floor, but still decent as it felt open and unobstructed. I especially loved the hot spring, walk-in wardrobe, and dressing table with the large mirror.
It was also very suitable for a solo trip — spacious, peaceful, and easy to enjoy at my own pace. Nonetheless, it is definitely suitable for all types of travellers.
(My family actually commented that it was too big for 1 person, but I was more than happy with it.)
Suggestion: It would be great to have a smart TV with YouTube or other streaming options, rather than only local channels.
Feedback: The smart control system panel also did not seem to sync properly with the AI control, as it did not respond after commands were given.

Stayed at this homestay in Jiufen and had a pleasant experience. The place was clean, well-kept, and comfortable for a short stay. One of the biggest advantages is its location—it’s just a short walk to Jiufen Old Street, making it very convenient to explore the area, especially in the evening. Overall, a good choice if you’re looking for a simple, clean stay with easy access to the main attractions.

I stayed at this hotel because of a concert at the New Taipei City Exhibition Hall. You can drop off your luggage before checking in, and there are self-service kiosks for both check-in and check-out. The room is very spacious! It comes with a hairdryer, 5 hangers, bath towels, hand towels, disposable slippers, shampoo and body wash, and a bidet. However, the water pressure in the shower is really low. I stayed for 3 nights this time and you can request housekeeping (but I just took out my own trash for the staff, as I didn't feel the need for a full cleaning).

sam626Overall, a great experience. The room was very spacious, and the water pressure and temperature in the bathroom were perfectly fine. (Just a heads-up: since the bathroom is open-plan, if the air conditioning is set very high/cold, you might feel a draft.) The toilet and shower are separate, which is convenient for simultaneous use. They provide universal power outlets everywhere, so no need to worry about adapters, and there are plenty of them in every spot and corner. It's very close to both the MRT Yellow Line and the Airport MRT; you just need to cross one street after exiting the station. However, it can get a bit noisy when the MRT passes by, which might be something to consider if you're a light sleeper.

Guest UserLocation quite convenient as a lot of restaurants, 7-11, supermarket just nearby, not far from MRT. Travel with buses also convenient as many buses pass through the area. Room quite spacious, espexially the bathroom. Though the room facing a main road, but didn't feel noisy. They don't clean the room even for a stay of 4 nights, just change towels. Room quite well equipped n comfortable, value for money.

The reception staff was very friendly. I didn't have dinner there. The equipment was a bit old. Breakfast was available the next day, but it was simple. There was nothing special to order. I had thick slices, boiled eggs, and tomatoes that day. The air was pretty good.
