This was my third stay at this hotel since its grand opening. I visit Kaohsiung about every six months, and overall the experience has been consistently pleasant. The facilities are well designed and maintained , and the staff are friendly and professional
.
There was one issue during this stay—the shower drainage was clogged, so I had to use the bathtub instead. This is something that ideally shouldn’t happen at all, but the hotel’s response was okay. They came to fix it next morning as it was late.
The soundproofing and AC are excellent. I especially enjoyed the hot spring and the gym, both of which are well equipped and relaxing. I didn’t include the buffet breakfast this time, as I preferred grabbing local drinks, buns, and snacks from the 7‑Eleven or FamilyMart just across the street as well as leaving room for lunch later.
The desserts at the lobby café were delightful, and the Japanese restaurant was absolutely divine. It’s just a pity that I didn’t know the omakase needs to be pre-booked. The restaurant doesn’t reserve seats for hotel guests or ask about this in advance, which was a bit disappointing. The set menu was very nice.
Overall, it’s still a hotel I enjoy staying.

Guest UserThis hotel definitely deserves a special shout-out! My experience was fantastic right from check-in. For those who enjoy culinary experiences, I highly recommend checking out their 'one night, two meals' package. I loved the ice cream with nachos at the ground floor cafe. The evening snacks and breakfast on the second floor were also delicious. While it might not have the extensive variety of a typical star-rated hotel buffet, it offers a great chance to try various local snacks. Every single braised meat, minced pork, and topping was incredibly flavorful, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of a rice cooker so you could serve yourself hot rice. You could really tell that the restaurant staff and managers were genuinely dedicated to service and food quality, constantly moving around and attending to guests.
The room was spotless, and the lighting was much brighter than what you'd typically find in comparable hotels. The bathroom was also more spacious. The only minor drawback was a gap of about 1cm under the room door, which made me think the soundproofing might not be great. However, I wasn't disturbed by any noise from outside during my stay.

Guest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location, standing as a standalone building. There are plenty of shopping options nearby. The front desk is on the 20th floor. On the first floor, they take care of your luggage and deliver it directly to your room. The room isn't huge, but the warm tones make it feel cozy and comfortable. I was very pleased with the numerous complimentary amenities. The mini-bar offers a great variety of drinks, which is a thoughtful touch, and the Dyson hairdryer is very practical and convenient. The gym is a bit on the small side. Breakfast was the most satisfying part – the steak was tender and delicious, comparable to renowned steak houses! There's a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms, offering plenty of healthy choices. Overall, the standard is superb. I absolutely recommend it; personally, I think it's much better than Marriott or InterContinental! It's the top choice when visiting Kaohsiung.

kevin0649The location is super convenient, right next to Kaohsiung Main Station, making it quick to get anywhere by metro, including Kaohsiung Arena and Liuhe Night Market, which are both nearby. We really loved the style of the hotel room; it had a nice European feel. The only minor drawback was that it was a bit dim in front of the bathroom mirror, which made putting on makeup a bit tricky, but overall, it felt amazing and super comfortable! For breakfast, in addition to the usual chicken, pork, and fish, there were also ********* options like egg pancakes, turnip cake, oyster omelets, soup dumplings, and teppanyaki noodles. Perhaps because we stayed for quite a while (five nights), the chef prepared special menus for us on the last two days, making steak and tiger prawn pasta, which was absolutely delicious. In the afternoon, there were also various light bites and drinks to enjoy, including special blended juices and even cheese foam tea. Most importantly, all the staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful! If I visit Kaohsiung again, I would definitely choose this hotel without hesitation!

Guest UserPAPO’A Harbor Hotel – A Charming Stay by the Harbor in Kaohsiung
During our trip to Kaohsiung, we decided to stay at PAPO’A Harbor Hotel, and it turned out to be a great choice for exploring the creative harbor district of the city.
The hotel is located just a short walk from Pier-2 Art Center, one of the most vibrant and artistic areas in Kaohsiung. The neighborhood is filled with street art, converted warehouses, cafés, and galleries, making it a perfect place to wander around both during the day and in the evening. Being able to walk back to the hotel after exploring the area was a big plus.
One of the things that makes PAPO’A Harbor Hotel unique is its character. The building used to be a harbor staff dormitory and has been thoughtfully renovated into a boutique hotel. The design blends industrial elements with modern minimal touches, giving the space a calm and slightly artistic atmosphere that fits perfectly with the surrounding Pier-2 district.
Our room was simple but very comfortable. The bed was cozy, the room was clean, and everything felt well maintained. While the hotel focuses more on design and location than luxury facilities, it provides everything you need for a pleasant stay. Some rooms even offer partial views of the harbor, which adds to the experience of staying in this port city.
Another great advantage is transportation. The Light Rail stop is only a few minutes away, making it easy to reach other parts of Kaohsiung such as Love River, Central Park, or connect to the MRT system.
Overall, PAPO’A Harbor Hotel is a lovely boutique stay for travelers who appreciate design, convenience, and a relaxed harbor atmosphere. It may not be a large luxury hotel, but its charm, location, and unique character make it a memorable place to stay in Kaohsiung.

• **Affordable Price:** A quadruple room during a holiday weekend was around NT$2400, averaging only NT$800 per person.
• **Shared Spaces:** There's a common area on the top floor, perfect for a simple meal or relaxation.
• **Excellent Location:** Within walking distance to Liuhe Night Market and Love River, ideal for tourists.
---
**Recommendations & Notes**
• **Best for:** Travelers on a short trip who prioritize convenient transportation and value for money.
• **Not suitable for:** Business travelers who require modern facilities or a stable internet connection.
• **Dining heads-up:** The hotel doesn't have a restaurant; guests will need to eat out or use the common area for meals.
• **Parking:** The hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, so it's advisable to plan parking in advance.
---
**Overall Verdict**
Kaohsiung Island Tour Hostel is an affordable and conveniently located budget accommodation, suitable for tourists on short stays. Its strengths lie in its location and value for money, while its drawbacks are outdated facilities and an unstable internet connection. If you value transportation and price, it's a good choice; if comfort and reliable amenities are a priority, you might want to consider other hotels.

Hotel is relative clean. Stayed in a single room with a semi double bed. Size is decent but didn’t realised it was behind the lifts, could hear the lift moving through out the day.
The shower head position is pretty bad. It’s not on an angle it’s pretty much like spraying directly into your body. It would be great if they could address this.
It’s 15 mins walk from the metro station so not closed.
Also there was a cockroach in the bathroom. Crawled out of the drain

Single’s Inn was a functional and reasonably priced stay for three nights. The location is one of its strongest advantages: the inn is around a ten-minute walk from the main station, where buses, local railway services, bus stations, and the metro are all easily accessible. Breakfast and a small hot pool is included, and guests are provided with pyjamas, slippers, one regular towel, and one smaller towel. The inn also has a laundry room and a common room. The staff were able to communicate in both Mandarin and English. Overall, the inn offers the type of experience one might reasonably expect at this price point: basic, convenient, and sufficient for a short stay.
The main limitation is sound insulation. The walls and doors are very thin, and I could hear people in nearby rooms coughing, talking, and snoring. Noise from the corridor was also noticeable, including doors opening and closing, people walking in slippers, and general movement. Sounds from the washroom, especially hair dryers and doors being opened or closed, were also easy to hear from the room. The hair dryer in the women’s area worked well, but became a recurring noise issue in combination with poor soundproofing.
Overall, Single’s Inn worked adequately for a short stay, especially due to its proximity to transportation and the inclusion of breakfast and basic amenities. However, I would not personally stay here for more than two nights, particularly as someone sensitive to noise.

Guest UserMy stay here was absolutely fantastic. The room was much more spacious than I expected, very comfortable, and impeccably clean, which made for a truly relaxing experience. The breakfast spread was extensive and delicious, I looked forward to it every morning. A major plus was the private garage, offering secure and convenient parking – a real thoughtful touch for travelers driving. The overall environment was quiet, and the staff were all very friendly. If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose this hotel and wholeheartedly recommend it to my friends and family.
