Surprisingly Great Stay! Unique and Comfortable I really enjoyed my stay at the Saintlo Ottawa Jail Hostel. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The atmosphere is unique and definitely something you don’t experience at a regular hotel — in a good way! The staff were friendly, the place felt safe, and the location was convenient for getting around Ottawa. Overall, it was a great stay and I would happily come back again. Highly recommend

Good hotel. The bed is super comfortable, and the welcome and service are great. The hotel could use some updating, but it has all the comforts you need. It's extremely well located between Gatineau and Ottawa. There's indoor parking for $14. Very good hotel.

The Stay was good the City was doing a lot of construction and due to that we were unable to find a suitable diversion route to the hotel as all the signs and streets are in french. For visitors it becomes inconvenient. The building elevator was down the second day which was inconvenience. Other than that everything was awesome for a family of five.

Generally speaking, the location of the Youth Hostel is very good. Ottawa is not very concentrated, the highlight is to catch up with the Queen's funeral service. There are too many Ottawa homeless, and the Youth Hostel is lined up. The Youth Hostel is very clean, and the younger brother is hygienic. I am also the first time I am mixed with men and women. It is good to sit in a hard sleep. Every day, bed in the morning, wake up late and late, basically no embarrassment. Impressed was the rainy day after visiting the National Gallery and sitting in the cafe drinking coffee. The years were quiet, and the domestic chickens and dogs jumped, thinking when they would return to normal, couldn't help but cry.

The breakfast is very good. Although it is frozen fruit, it is also a good way for travelers to supplement fiber. The bed is a bit soft, which makes my back and waist sore. The room is simple but clean, and the bathroom is in good condition.

Staff should be polite, courteous, and welcoming—a simple smile can go a long way in creating a positive atmosphere. 3. It was disappointing to see that the welcome packet was only given to selected guests during check-in. This inconsistent treatment does not reflect well on guest service. 4. The location was not ideal, and the area outside the hotel felt unsafe, especially at night. 5. On a positive note, the room itself was very good—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. 6. The room presents a modern design with a pleasant ambiance, and overall, it is very clean and comfortable. As expected of a 4-star hotel standard that should be met. However, I would like to highlight a couple of areas where practicality could be improved: • Study Table Placement: The study/work desk is positioned directly beneath the wall-mounted TV. This setup is not practical, as it places the guest in a position where they are working directly in front of a screen that may be distracting. It would be more functional to have the desk in a location that supports focus and productivity without unnecessary interference. • Coffee Cup and Saucer Mismatch: The coffee cup provided has a round base, while the saucer has a square design that does not accommodate the cup securely. This mismatch not only affects usability but also detracts from the overall attention to detail expected at this level of hospitality. • Bathroom Dustbin Design: The dustbin in the bathroom does not have a foot pedal for hands-free operation. Guests are required to bend down and lift the lid manually, which is inconvenient and unhygienic. A foot-pedal bin would be a more user-friendly option. • Lack of Proper Kettle for Tea Drinkers: As tea drinkers, we found it inconvenient to boil water using the coffee machine. The water has a noticeable coffee taste and smell, which affects the flavor of the tea. A small electric kettle in each room would be a simple but impactful addition to cater to all beverage preferences. Very good service with an excellent continental breakfast! We even brought ice packs and they kept them in the freezer for us overnight to take back the next day! It was very much appreciated!

This is a great hotel, conveniently located right by Parliament Hill, which is the main attraction in Ottawa along with its surroundings. So, after checking in, you can easily explore the area on foot. Plus, it's very close to Chinatown, making dining options readily available. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-appointed with standard amenities. The only drawback is that parking comes with a fee.
