"My bunkbed didn’t have a curtain so I asked to change at reception. Unfortunately, I was changed to a bunkbed next to the door which was unnecessarily loud. On my last night there there was also a constant beeping that everyone complained about.
It’s a clean hostel with a pub, which was pretty cool. My room was in a building separate to the pub. The kitchen was great with a cute outside area to eat.
It’s a bit of a walk to the train station but there are buses."
"Easily accessible from the train station by bus 2 (15-minute ride - you can pay with a credit card on the bus).
I recommend buying day tickets for €9 at the train station - this allows you to travel as often as you like throughout the day - buses every 10 minutes.
Generally: Hotel more like 3*, breakfast more like 2*
4* used to be 40 years ago - not much has changed in the hotel since then - patina everywhere (especially the Japanese garden)
There are only 3 floors - we had a view of the roof of the neighboring building.
Plus points:
Very spacious rooms, drinking fountain for tea making, e.g., in the lobby, refrigerator in the room.
Coffee at breakfast is usually a disaster in every hotel - however, there is a coffee machine that brews freshly and even has decaf beans - drinkable."

"Let me start by saying the location is amazing. A short walk of a couple of hundred meters and you're right in the middle of the main square. That's truly fantastic.
The room was fine. Just a good bed, bathroom, sink, and air conditioning. There was no wardrobe, which is a drawback. So, more or less what you'd expect, nothing special in our opinion.
What's bad is the soundproofing. The first night, we were terribly bothered by noise from the upstairs neighbors. Huge thudding sounds even at 2 and 3 AM. The second night, we woke up to very loud talking on the street around 6 AM. The windows were closed, but it sounded as if they were open. And since there's no reception or anything, you can't do anything about it. Whether we'll book this again is doubtful. A good night's sleep is important. We had room 205, facing the street, which we definitely advise against! Our adult kids had 107 and 204. Room 107 is at the back and didn't suffer from street noise, but both rooms did have issues with the ”upstairs neighbors.”
So, perhaps a tip would be to book a room on an upper floor at the back."
"Location is what stood out for me first - the ease to roam around Brugge as a solo traveler has really been perfected by this.
The bar staff is so knowledgeable as well about local beers and I do get that it’s their job, but he’s explained clearly without being condescending at all as it was my first time visiting and I am quite particular about my beer.
I was there between 13-16 June 2026 - if any Martins Brugge hotel is reading this, please send my thank you"
"Chose this hotel again for the *******e time; simply amazing in a word! Delicious, extensive breakfast, wonderful beds, and the location is good in relation to the city center. I use a wheelchair myself, but that was taken into account as well.
In short, looking for a few carefree days in Bruges? Then this hotel is highly recommended!!"
"The hotel is located literally in the heart of the historic Brugge to the main attractions literally a few minutes walk, while the hotel itself is quiet and quiet.
The room is cozy, made in classic Belgian style wooden beams, warm interior, very clean. Comfortable bed, quality bedding and excellent Wi‑Fi made our stay particularly comfortable. The bathroom is delighted with modern repair, good plumbing and a large selection of hygiene.
I would like to celebrate breakfast a rich buffet with local cheeses, fresh baking, a variety of fruits and hot dishes. Everything was fresh and very delicious! Staff above all praise: attentive, friendly, helped with the route tips, recommended excellent cafes and walking places."
"Very nice hotel! Near the center and the owner and staff are very friendly and guest-friendly! Surely a adviser!"

Amazing
NNadia THEverything was perfect excepted the mattress is too soft and it makes your back pain.
For Breakfast : Suggestion on all vegan drink, please make sure that the open date is not too long that suggested on the box otherwise the taste gonna gone off like I experienced Chocolate Soya ( it tasted sour already)
Also, it would be nice if you have the signs tell what each item is due to not everyone knows and some they don’t eat pork, beef or chicken.
MMelon ChiuThis guesthouse is perfect for a short overnight stay in Bruges! It's a 15-minute walk from the historic city center, offering just the right balance to experience the quiet atmosphere of a local residential area. The accommodation is comfortable, allowing you to recharge before easily exploring this beautiful town, whether on foot or by public transport. It offers excellent value for money and serves as a high-quality stopover. Highly recommended for travelers planning to wander through Bruges.
GGuest UserGirard at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing with one of the best views of the canal we could have hoped for! Location was perfect. Highly recommended! Breakfast was very good and worth getting. Hard to find breakfast before 11 anywhere else.
GGuest UserWonderful trip to Bruges! The hotel is located in a quiet area, just 10 minutes from the city center. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the cleanliness and comfort were excellent. The breakfast was well-stocked and varied. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I return.
GGuest UserWhen we arrived to the property, the hotel could not find our reservation. Gina at the reception was fantastic and she upgraded us to a suite with canal view! 😍
This room raised our expectations and experience of Bruges!
GGuest UserLocation at 10 minutes walk from the city. You can park in a garage at about 4 minutes walk. The staff is very friendly. When arrived there was a box of chocolate bottles and when departure we got cookies. The room was cleaner; there were still hair in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but not special.
NNeilJHotel Portinari in Bruges is a gem! The modern design is both stylish and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, making it a perfect retreat. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. The friendly staff added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bruges!
TTimoshaHotel is neat the train station. However, the Escalator to the platform of the hotel is not working . We need to find a elevator from the car park to enter the hotel. There's carrefour express and bus station to the city center right next to the train station.
Really thankful for the early checkin cuz we arrived a bit earlier. The reception is polite and helpful. The room is clean and neat. Spacious for 3 ppl.
However, they charge me extra money €100sth after I check out. Trip.com staff is also helpful for asking the hotel for refund. Otherwise, the experience there was satisfying.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent and it is very convenient to go to various attractions. If you drive yourself, it is a bit difficult to get in and out of the hotel. The car is clearly parked next door, but it took half an hour to get to the hotel entrance (one-way street + road closure)
HHujiaomanchanThe hotel's location is excellent, with a reasonably priced and spacious parking lot nearby. It's also very close to the train station, with a connected walkway and elevator directly to the hotel. The walk to Bruges city center and attractions is a convenient 15 minutes. Both the hotel and the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the shower has good water pressure.
