"Location is what stood out for me first - the ease to roam around Brugge as a solo traveler has really been perfected by this.
The bar staff is so knowledgeable as well about local beers and I do get that it’s their job, but he’s explained clearly without being condescending at all as it was my first time visiting and I am quite particular about my beer.
I was there between 13-16 June 2026 - if any Martins Brugge hotel is reading this, please send my thank you"
"Hotel Portinari in Bruges is a gem! The modern design is both stylish and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, making it a perfect retreat. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. The friendly staff added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bruges!"
"It was a very pleasant and cozy hotel. The check-in is at the bar around the corner. The shared bathroom is used by 3 rooms on the floor which is not too bad. The location is great as well - close to the train station and about 1 km from the city centre and the area around the hotel is very nice and clean as well. Would definitely stay here again"
"This guesthouse is perfect for a short overnight stay in Bruges! It's a 15-minute walk from the historic city center, offering just the right balance to experience the quiet atmosphere of a local residential area. The accommodation is comfortable, allowing you to recharge before easily exploring this beautiful town, whether on foot or by public transport. It offers excellent value for money and serves as a high-quality stopover. Highly recommended for travelers planning to wander through Bruges."
"The hotel is basic no frills but was perfect for us for a couple of nights. We booked a triple room for myself my husband and our 11 year old son. The room was huge and also had a little kitchen area which was great. The location is great right off the main square. There is not air con but they do provide a large fan which was enough to cool the room when sleeping. The shower room had a shower over a bath tub which had great pressure and the towels provided are lovely and fluffy. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again"
"El servicio excelente, con el extra de que antes de la hora del check-in ya teníamos la habitación disponible.
Ubicación excelente y los servicios compartidos con el Duke's Palace (recepción, desayuno...).
Es conveniente saber que, aunque te llevan las maletas hasta el hotel, este se encuentra en un edificio con algunos escalones que se deben de salvar en los pisos superiores, pese a contar en ascensor, por lo que debe ser tenido en cuenta para las personas con movilidad reducida."
"My partner and I had one of the mansion suites on the 3rd floor. Although our room didn’t have a view it was spacious and comfortable. The toiletries smelt divine.
The bed and pillows were super comfy.
Staff are friendly.
Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of fruit and fresh juices / smoothies. Customised omelettes were made.
The hotel itself is boutique, contemporary and in a good location to Brugge Train Station, buses and also all the main attractions. It is nestled down a quiet street but still close enough to main attractions.
You have waffles and fresh potato fries shops within a minute walk from the hotel, including a supermarket if you need anything."
"Hotel ideally located a stone's throw from the Markt.
Warm and very welcoming owner. Attention to detail and customer well-being.
Spacious but rococo room equipped with all amenities (Air conditioning, bathrooms, etc.)
Hearty, varied continental breakfast in a magnificent setting (old cellar with 14th century vaulted ceilings).
In short, more than positive value for money."
"For the first time in my life, I encountered a toilet without a door, and the toilet was directly facing the entrance and the big bed. 🤣🤣
Is the toilet just for decoration?
I booked for two days and stayed for one night. During that time, I didn't dare to go to the toilet for fear of the stench in the room. I opened the window, but it was on the street and it was too noisy to sleep😂😂😂I couldn't stand it anymore, so I bought a return ticket and left the city.
But the house was still quite clean."
"When we arrived to the property, the hotel could not find our reservation. Gina at the reception was fantastic and she upgraded us to a suite with canal view! 😍
This room raised our expectations and experience of Bruges!"

Amazing
NNadia THEverything was perfect excepted the mattress is too soft and it makes your back pain.
For Breakfast : Suggestion on all vegan drink, please make sure that the open date is not too long that suggested on the box otherwise the taste gonna gone off like I experienced Chocolate Soya ( it tasted sour already)
Also, it would be nice if you have the signs tell what each item is due to not everyone knows and some they don’t eat pork, beef or chicken.
GGuest UserGirard at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing with one of the best views of the canal we could have hoped for! Location was perfect. Highly recommended! Breakfast was very good and worth getting. Hard to find breakfast before 11 anywhere else.
GGuest UserWonderful trip to Bruges! The hotel is located in a quiet area, just 10 minutes from the city center. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the cleanliness and comfort were excellent. The breakfast was well-stocked and varied. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I return.
GGuest UserLocation at 10 minutes walk from the city. You can park in a garage at about 4 minutes walk. The staff is very friendly. When arrived there was a box of chocolate bottles and when departure we got cookies. The room was cleaner; there were still hair in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but not special.
TTimoshaHotel is neat the train station. However, the Escalator to the platform of the hotel is not working . We need to find a elevator from the car park to enter the hotel. There's carrefour express and bus station to the city center right next to the train station.
Really thankful for the early checkin cuz we arrived a bit earlier. The reception is polite and helpful. The room is clean and neat. Spacious for 3 ppl.
However, they charge me extra money €100sth after I check out. Trip.com staff is also helpful for asking the hotel for refund. Otherwise, the experience there was satisfying.
GGuest UserMy bunkbed didn’t have a curtain so I asked to change at reception. Unfortunately, I was changed to a bunkbed next to the door which was unnecessarily loud. On my last night there there was also a constant beeping that everyone complained about.
It’s a clean hostel with a pub, which was pretty cool. My room was in a building separate to the pub. The kitchen was great with a cute outside area to eat.
It’s a bit of a walk to the train station but there are buses.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent and it is very convenient to go to various attractions. If you drive yourself, it is a bit difficult to get in and out of the hotel. The car is clearly parked next door, but it took half an hour to get to the hotel entrance (one-way street + road closure)
HHujiaomanchanThe hotel's location is excellent, with a reasonably priced and spacious parking lot nearby. It's also very close to the train station, with a connected walkway and elevator directly to the hotel. The walk to Bruges city center and attractions is a convenient 15 minutes. Both the hotel and the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the shower has good water pressure.
