We recently stayed at Rydges World Square and overall had a lovely experience. The room was big and very comfortable, which made our stay really enjoyable. My daughters absolutely loved it, especially having plenty of space to relax.
What I appreciated most was the separate room setup for parents and children — it gave us privacy while still being together as a family. That layout made a big difference and made the stay feel even more comfortable and convenient.
However, the car park was quite difficult to find. We had to drive down many levels, and it was confusing as there were different hotels sharing the area.Clearer signage or directions would really help future guests.
The only other disappointment was the pricing. We booked the room for $584, but later noticed the price had dropped to $510. It would have been great to receive the lower rate.
Aside from these issues, we truly enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back again.

Pro:
Good location. Very easily accessible to the shopping area and convenient. Thumb up
Staff is friendly and helpful.
But do take note that their check out time is 10am which I overlooked it but the staff is kind enough to wait for us.
They even offer me to store my luggage as we still need some time to leave for our next destination.
Room is very big and good walking space for my family of 5 but somehow the cleanliness can be better. Not much big issue
Con:
Wifi signal is a bit disappointing as quite weak and I unable to connect consistently and end up I have to use my own data plan.
As for the breakfast mentioned provided, nothing much breads/biscuits/drinks/milks from the fridge. We only took the biscuit given and leave the rest.
But the above con is expected as the price is very reasonable and furthermore we only stay for 1 night. So not big concern. But just sharing.
Conclusion, in term of location, cost and service provided, I can consider this a worth staying hotel for large family group.

Pros- room was clean as it should be. And hotel is close enough to the city. Room had a power socket next to the bed which was good, as some hotels dont.
Cons- Booked here as it was close to city and it said 'parking available' but only after booking I saw in the fine print that they will charge $50 for 1 night of parking and i couldnt cancel as i would have been charged.
Their wifi was not working so I called them and they said something like they can look into it tomorrow which was no use for me as I was there 1 night. 1 of the power sockets next to the bed was not working.
They take a $200 deposit/bond on top of the booking cost which they give back in a week, but if things like their wifi or power socket doesnt work, shouldnt they be giving you a partial refund of the booking as the room is not 100%??

The room's facilities are simple and clean, and the mattress is comfortable to sleep on. There's a park just across the road, which is great, and it's very close to Chinatown.

This is a new hotel with great facilities and comfortable bedding. The shower pressure was excellent. The location is perfect, quiet yet central, which made for a really good night's sleep. The room was a bit small, and there was no bottled water provided. The front desk staff seemed to be student part-timers, and they were just about adequate. Honestly, for a Sydney CBD hotel, there's nothing much to complain about – it's pretty good value for money.

Once you get your expectations right- this is a no-elevator, shared bathroom accommodation with a bar as their reception and concierge and no room service- you will be okay. Location is great- near Central station and around shops and restaurants. There is no room service and bathrooms are clean but very basic. There’s only one toilet on the 2nd floor (that’s where I stayed, not sure about 1st floor) which was usually okay but there can be waiting time in the morning. There is no power outlet near the kettle in the room; I had to use it near the bed!

I booked a one-night stay at Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central at the last minute. For the price, both the location and the overall facilities were quite reasonable. While it was a short stay, I felt it was a solid enough choice to recommend to others looking for value in Sydney.
However, there were a few areas that could be improved. The bathroom felt quite dated, and the shower taps were a bit difficult to use. Additionally, the toilet seat felt somewhat flimsy, and the toilet itself was quite old. The Wi-Fi connection was also unreliable, so I ended up having to use my phone’s hotspot to watch YouTube. Lastly, the soundproofing was a bit weak, and I could hear some noise from the surroundings.
Despite these minor issues, I believe the price is very competitive for a night in Sydney. If these small things are addressed, it would be an even better place to stay.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and the Royal Botanic Garden. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the room view was disappointing. We booked a 'Skyline King Room,' but there was no skyline visible at all; we just looked out onto old, dilapidated rooftops. The room also felt quite small.
JJulesTI’ve stayed in many hostels before and understand you sometimes get what you pay for, but my stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central was disappointing.
We booked a private room for three with a shared bathroom. The room had a strong “slept-in” smell which seemed to come from the actual pillows and bedding rather than the sheets. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty, and during our five-day stay I only saw them cleaned once.
The kitchen on the first floor is far too small for the number of guests. Fridges and cupboards were completely full, and with only a few cooktops, sinks and microwaves it’s very difficult to cook or find a place to eat.
The hostel is very focused on partying, with events like pizza nights and free drinks in the kitchen area. It’s also quite noisy, with partying and heavy doors slamming day and night, so don’t expect much sleep.
Considering how expensive Sydney is, this place still felt overpriced. The building is run down (cracked sinks), beds have thin mattresses, and we even saw a large cockroach one day. Staff simply said, “this is Australia.”
There’s also no ramp at the entrance, so heavy luggage has to be carried up the stairs.
The only real positive is the great location.
GGuest UserThis area near the airport has become much more developed since I was here eight years ago. This hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it even had a simple kitchen for preparing basic meals. The only downside was that after I checked in, I got some bites on my face.
NNaiyougegewuSydney Central YHA is the best-equipped and most pleasant hostel I've ever stayed in! I was in a 4-bed female dorm. There are power outlets right by the bed, facing downwards, so if your adapter isn't tight, it might fall out. However, there are USB and USB-C ports directly, which is super convenient. Each bed also has a reading light and a blackout curtain, offering great privacy.
The kitchen and dining area are huge, with a complete array of cooking utensils that are very practical and exceptionally clean; everyone is very considerate. There's a large supermarket, Coles, right near the hostel, making it easy to buy groceries. During my stay, I cooked for myself every day – it was delicious, hygienic, and affordable.
The best part is its location right by Central Station. Trains, buses, and all kinds of transport converge here, offering excellent connectivity and making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere.
Accessing the lifts, rooms, and communal bathrooms all require card access, ensuring top-notch security.
PPengtaaleinasiThe Crown Tower in Sydney was an absolutely perfect experience! Unobstructed panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge perfectly framed. The high-altitude infinity pool was stunning, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and equipped with top-notch facilities. The service was efficient and incredibly attentive. The dining was excellent and getting around was a breeze. It truly boasts the city's best viewpoints, offering an unparalleled sense of luxury. Without a doubt, it's Sydney's premier hotel – a definite must-book!
GGuest UserWe booked W sydney months in advance with breakfast included and is worth it . Food choices are plenty during breakfast and can order different eggs style and cooking preparation during breakfast and can order different hot or cooled selection of drinks as well. Hotel is clean and location is near china town ,paddys market , and harbour easily accessible to townhall in a walkable distance of 7-10 mins away. There is a fireworks show on saturday night that lasted 5-7minutes.. There are lots of restaurants around the area and ice cream shops as well . There is even a park at the back of the hotel and a playground for kids. I highly recommend this hotel. There is 2 pool in the hotel at 22nd floor and 29th floor . The hotel is beside Imax cinema .
YYujideyuCleanliness: So-so, lacking in detail. There was still dust on the hairdryer cover.
Facilities: The bedding was way too soft, not ideal for Chinese people. When one person lies on it, it just sags.
GGuest UserGreat location, breakfast could have better selection and pastries could be more fresh. Other than that room was great, gym was nice, lobby was cozy
Ggu****The hotel's location is excellent. Within a 5 to 10-minute walk, you can reach Chinatown, Paddy's Market, Darling Square, Darling Harbour, and Central Station. The room size was adequate, and it was clean and tidy upon arrival, with daily housekeeping being prompt and thorough. The front desk service was also on point.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks:
1. The lighting in the lobby area isn't great; it's generally too dim and looks like it needs a refurbishment. Hopefully, they'll update it soon.
2. We believe our room was in the newer extension of the hotel. There's a noticeable difference in floor levels between the two buildings, and the connection between them is entirely stairs, which is really inconvenient when you have luggage. This also needs an update.
3. The flooring under the carpet in our room was bulging in places and requires maintenance.
3300343****The front desk service was excellent, and the Singaporean staff at the bar and the Hong Kong staff at the concierge were incredibly helpful! The local concierge also assisted with restaurant reservations! It was a wonderful experience! The Korean staff at the front desk were also very helpful!
