Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo

Nijo Castle
The Pros: Excellent location; Very kind, attentive and professional staff; breakfast is fine; - The Cons: It's an ageing hotel and it's starting to show; although generally clean my toilet, for example smelled persistently of urine since the moment I entered the room, as if the the flooring around the toilet had not been wiped down and disinfected; the hotel should be on top of the vacuum cleaner maintenance - they clearly do not change their dust sacks often, nor do they filter the air that is released by them; punctually every morning while walking down the corridors the smell of dust emanating from the carpets and/or vacuum cleaners is apparent; Vacuum cleaners need to be frequently maintained; Also what's up with the second card you hand-out at breakfast (other than the 'occupied' card) - It's redundant and totally useless. make things easier - not more complicated please! The large SPA is also very average. I wouldn't necessarily return to this hotel knowing that there are so many ew establishments around which offer newer and fresher facilities. You need to stay current and modern if you want to be competitive! Smarten-up please.  '
Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo PREMIER

The main entrance is low-key. The hotel facilities are very new and the space is filled with an elegant fragrance. There is a large public bath on B1, which helps to relieve the fatigue of traveling. Except for toothbrushes, the room supplies (such as shower caps, razors, bath towels, cotton swabs, etc.) have to be obtained on the first floor by yourself, which is not very convenient. However, the organic toiletries provided in the room, Rafa's hair dryer and shower head are very thoughtful. The large public bath has Sekkisei products available.

Design : Modern and hipster bar at Ground floor Location :6mins walk from Gojo station and 10mins walk to Shijo station but alot of convenience store and eatery along the way. The area is more business like so tend to be quieter on the weekend. stil manage to walk to Nishiki market coz the weather is pleasant. Service: Moderate but generous on giving out free water bottle. free one alcoholic beverage for guest at night from 19.00 to 20.00pm .Spacious and safe luggage storage area Hygiene: need to improve because there is alot of dust in the room

Kyoto Station and surrounding areas
Great location.. Pretty much next to Kyoto Station Rooms are clean and spacious (compared to most hotel rooms in Japan). If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room on a higher floor (can hear cars/people occasionally on lower floor) Staying here again in a few days

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jokyoji

Kawaramachi
The hotel is overall good. The location is excellent. It is super convenient to get to any place of interest due to close vicinity of the subway and the railway station.  The room is small, the window does not open for safety reasons. Although I read many positive reviews regarding the breakfast, it was not great to my liking with limited choice.
