We had a wonderful stay at this ryokan! The hosts were incredibly helpful and kind, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The location was very convenient — close to public transport and within walking distance of local attractions. The ryokan itself offered a truly authentic Japanese experience, with traditional tatami rooms and a peaceful atmosphere. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we appreciated the option to store our baggage before check-in.

We’ve had the best stay at Ryokan Hirashin! The room was very clean, the size amazingly big, futons very comfortable, there was a big pot that always holds hot temperature. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Onsen was amazing, too. The location is just perfect! It’s 2 stops from Kyoto station and so close to Nishiki market and then also Gion district, plus very convenient if you’re a nighttime lover cuz you can just walk back home. It takes kinda same time to go to other further places like Fushimi Inari or Arashiyama, as it’s located kinda in the middle of them all. I’d say the pictures don’t really give you the vibe, it feels much better when you’re in there. To sum up, it’s a traditional looking ryokan room but in the hotel building, which in convenient cuz you don’t need to be too quiet as in more traditional ones. I highly highly highly recommend this place, we’ve really had the best time here!

Great place, clean, cozy, comfortable and quiet!! We had a beautiful view on a local park. The hotel is very close to Nishimi food market!! We enjoyed the old style!!

The room is quite big, more spacious than the hotel I stayed in later. It has a separate bathroom and bathtub, but the sink is very low and it hurts my waist to use it. The service is very good. They will help you lay the tatami. They will deliver small cookies and hot water every day. There is a small park with cherry blossoms at the door. There is a Blue Bottle Coffee 100 meters away. It is 300-400 meters away from Shijo subway station and Daimaru Department Store. I am generally satisfied. I booked it in advance and it is very cost-effective.

Nice, helpful staff. Helped with organizing a tea ceremony. Onsen in the basement, liked everything. It feels like the hotel itself is a bit old, but it didn't bother me. There was no iron. Quite an expensive breakfast, but there is a huge amount of street food nearby at the Kuramon market.
