Kyoto Ryokan Hirashin Reviews

We’ve had the best stay at Ryokan Hirashin! The room was very clean, the size amazingly big, futons very comfortable, there was a big pot that always holds hot temperature. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Onsen was amazing, too. The location is just perfect! It’s 2 stops from Kyoto station and so close to Nishiki market and then also Gion district, plus very convenient if you’re a nighttime lover cuz you can just walk back home. It takes kinda same time to go to other further places like Fushimi Inari or Arashiyama, as it’s located kinda in the middle of them all. I’d say the pictures don’t really give you the vibe, it feels much better when you’re in there. To sum up, it’s a traditional looking ryokan room but in the hotel building, which in convenient cuz you don’t need to be too quiet as in more traditional ones. I highly highly highly recommend this place, we’ve really had the best time here!

Great place, clean, cozy, comfortable and quiet!! We had a beautiful view on a local park. The hotel is very close to Nishimi food market!! We enjoyed the old style!!

Our first time in Kyoto and decided to stay at a Ryokan! This place was clean, staff was friendly and was at a very convenient location. Loved it would stay again!

The front desk and breakfast staff are all so friendly!! The facilities are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in a very large room and is delicious.

A hotel in the Shijo area of ​​Kyoto, in the Higashi-Toin area, the alley next to it is the Shinjindo. There are only two people at the front desk, so the service is average. There is a hot spring on the basement floor.

Exceeded expectations~ I really want to experience a Japanese inn. I originally thought that the hotel was not well reviewed by Chinese people, and based on previous reviews, I thought it was a very simple family hotel, but it actually has professional hotel services. The reception staff are very polite and enthusiastic~ It is within walking distance of Shijo and Karasuma Oike subway stations. It is not new overall, but clean and sanitary. The room is very large in Japan. The bathroom is small but the design is very reasonable. There is also a bathtub for bathing. There is also a public bath on the underground first floor. The Japanese breakfast is also very good and worth a try. The overall experience is a very fresh Japanese tatami hotel. If I have to say something bad, it is that the tatami has a bit of smell when you first enter, but it is fine after turning on the exhaust and air conditioning. Recommended to try if you want to experience a Japanese tatami hotel😘

The tatami room I stayed in was unexpectedly large. I didn't stay in the room for a long time because I was out most of the time, but the overall feeling was good and the price/performance ratio was OK. I didn't experience the bathhouse. The hotel is located two blocks away from Shijo and Karasuma. It is not far from the shopping area, but not too close. It is quite suitable for young people to stay. There are some food stores around, and there are also some izakayas on the streets not far away. The atmosphere is also good.

I love it! The facilities are indeed old but very clean! You can take a bath in the room or go down to the big bath. When my baby and I went to the big bath, there was no one there, so we enjoyed the private bath treatment hahaha. There is a small park in front of the hotel. Sometimes you can see office workers sitting under the flower stand with a can of beer. But there is no view outside our window. There are a lot of food nearby, and there is a big 711 in three minutes. Continue walking from 711, there is a big bus station, and there are basically buses going everywhere. I will stay here next time I come to Kyoto!

I made a reservation in a hurry, so there weren't many options. The location was so convenient that it was easy to get around, and the breakfast was good. The room was spacious, so I had a comfortable stay. However, the bedding and the view were not good, so I wouldn't visit again...

It's a one-room style tatami, and if you want to experience traditional Japanese tatami, the price is cheap, the room is clean, and it's nice to have yukatas. There was a school nearby and a small playground, so it was nice and quiet. Also, it was close to Nishiki Market, so it was great to walk around, and there were a lot of local restaurants nearby. I plan to visit again the next time I go to Kyoto. The large public bath was like a Korean bathhouse, and I was able to soak in the hot water, so my travel fatigue was relieved! The manager’s grandfather is really kind👍👍
