Orange Hotel (Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station) Reviews

Trip.com should clearly list the full name of the hotel in English and Chinese (Orange Crystal Hotel - 桔子水晶酒店) and not just “Orange hotel” which Didi did not correctly find. I had to choose a nearby coffee house to get the Didi to the right place. Great location though, in amazing clean and upscale neighborhood.

Third stay here. Usually nice and clean room very close to Honqiao Railway Station. Malls with many shops and restaurants are nearby. However, this time, room 2017 in particular, had some strange loud noise occasionally, seemingly coming from above outside. This woke me up three times during a single night. Aside from that it was a pleasant stay.

Orange is my favourite hotel, in every city we always pick this one. My 1 star to service goes to the receptionists that are always confused scanning passports. We are foreigners that live in China for more than 10 years, and this hotel is next to Shanghai Hongqiao, I assume we are not the first foreigners checking in, and yet they just copy every page of the passport just in case, even pages with Schengen visa, expired visas etc. There are hotel where workers aware of their duties, and there are workers like here when they just confused and do extra unnecessary job to be sure, waste your time, do not hear you when you are explaining how they must proceed.

Perfect location for those who are traveling using the high speed train and has a flight using the HongQiao airport. It’s also near the National Convention and Exhibition Center. Rooms are located at the lower ground level. Has a big lobby and a Starbucks within the hotel.

Simply put, the hotel is nice but the photo of the building shown is deceptive. The hotel is “underground”, looking into a ground floor courtyard. I arrived and was told my room is in B2. I had a window covered with a film looking to an indoor room. No natural light and no fresh air. Was it written in small print? Yes. Do I check if a room has a window or not when I book for this price in Shanghai and the main photo of the hotel shows a glass building? I do not. The room was nice, but the price is too high for a room without window. It’s also a maze inside- the room was so so far from the elevator I had to spend 5min staring at a floorplan to find my way. So in the most likely event you’re here for a business meeting you need to check the weather on your phone to decide what to wear. Its a nice room and hotel, but I would not come back.

Advantages : Close to Hongqaio hub. Good facilities in the room, large size of rooms. I could find one drawback that some of rooms do not have windows. The rooms with window are excellent..

Much better than expected. The staffs are very friendly and polite. Room is big. Location is nice too, only 10 mins from train station. Shower is superb. Breakfast is okay. Delivering robot is cute and efficient. Starbucks next door, a bonus!

This is the best hotel we stayed at in the Hongqiao area. The staff is great, the rooms are clean and spacious, and there is no noise because the rooms are underground. It gets booked out easily, so try to stay here if you can!

Variety of the breakfast is good and healthy. It is walking distance from the hotel to Hongqiao Train Station. However, I could not manage to find out the elevator to access the walking bridge to cross the road to enter into the railway stationfrom the opposite road, so, there was no choice other than to carry the heavy luggage via staircase.

It’s a great hotel, fantastic location. Clean and spacious with reasonable pricing!
