TVの旅番組（旅サラダ）を見て「行きたい！」と思い検索し予約。万助楼は９部屋の小さい旅館。他の普通室より少々高いけど、特別室「竜宮波」が絶体お薦め。部屋からの日本海眺望は抜群、料理も丹後の海の幸、山の幸を見事にアレンジ。特別室には内風呂もありましたが、大浴場を利用。部屋数＝宿泊客数が少ないので準内風呂でした。部屋の床の間には乙姫様の玉手箱が置いてあるけど、これ以上年を取るといけないので「開けずに」おきました。
