Spice Island Hotel & Resort

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The pool is much larger than in other hotels, and the pier was simply unique. From there, you have direct access to the sea and a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. The entire resort is very well maintained, and the lovingly designed garden invites you to relax. The staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. The food was excellent, we enjoyed every single dish. Even on the two rainy days, we loved sitting on the terrace in front of our room, quietly watching the rain. We will definitely come back. Thank you so much for the wonderful time!

Wonderful hotel after fire trouble last year, resurrected modern, stylish, cozy, exceptional with the fantastic pier jetty... Must visit in Jambiani!

Me and my children spent a week at Spice Island Hotel the first week of August before flying to Arusha for a 4 days Safari tour. The hotel is very well located on a very pretty beach in the south of the island. The service is excellent and the staff attentive to requests. The pontoon and the bar located at the end of the pontoon was very well appreciated and we had a very pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel for a quiet family stay.

This hotel was just such a great find for a special trip with my son and we could not have been happier. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean and housekeeping were always reliable. They are all mainly in a peaceful garden setting and our room was actually furthest away from reception/pool yet was still only a 2 minute walk to everywhere and it was great to walk through the garden each morning and if you are lucky in the evening you might meet the local family of monkeys which we did twice. The food is very good, consistent and hygiene standards in the kitchen are high. The pool is actually larger than in many similar hotels with beds both there and on the small private beach area. There is also a private jetty with comfy seating and a bar serving a different menu which was great. Easy access to main beach and you can easily walk to Jambiani. You can still expect sales people on the beach but due to the location not that many and they are really no bother at all. Overall this is a super peaceful location and Paje is only a 6 minute drive if you want a livelier evening. Finally the staff were all welcoming, helpful and generally just lovely. They are all very relaxed and discreet adding to the overall super chilled vibe, but if you need anything at all, it just seems to happen without delay. A final note is this hotel is very good value indeed compared to many others nearby. We wanted for nothing and cannot recommend Spice Island enough. Come, chill, be happy.
