Aluna Paje ★★★★
"The hotel is good, with a very sense of design, a reasonable layout, and a clever design. The service was good, the breakfast was very good, and the dining atmosphere was very comfortable. The hotel is in the village, so you can go shopping as soon as you leave."
The 5th Element Boutique Hotel
"Went here for dinner with my boyfriend. It’s the best coconut curry I’ve ever had! Also the owners and staff are super welcoming and friendly! We will come back. Please eat here if you’re in Paje ❤️"
Protels La Plage ★★★★
"I absolutely loved this hotel! The beach is magnificent, and the atmosphere has such a beautiful, peaceful, almost spiritual vibe. 🌴✨ My children absolutely loved the swimming pool — they could barely get out of it! They stayed in the pool from 9 a.m. until 6 or even 7 p.m. every day. 😄 The manager, Mustafa Chadi, makes you feel truly at home. It’s a very welcoming and family-friendly hotel, and all the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I would especially like to mention Souleiman, the security officer, and Christophe, the entertainer. There is also another staff member whose name I unfortunately forgot, but honestly, everyone deserves a mention because the whole team is wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful, friendly, and relaxing place to stay. ❤️"
Lujo Resort Zanzibar ★★★★
"We stayed in 3 hotels whilst on our honeymoon in Zanzibar and loved the Lujo hotel. The staff were really lovely, especially the lady on reception who was really welcoming and helpful! She gave us lots of recommendations for shops and beach bars to visit. Paje beach is only a short walk from the hotel and there are lots of places to eat and drink along the beach. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the pool as we had trips booked during the day and went to the beach most days. We ate dinner at the hotel every night and the food was amazing - the food portions were really big. There is currently some building work going on next door but this didn’t effect us as we were out and about during the day but if you were planning to spend your day at the pool this may have been a bit noisy!"
Paje Beach Apartments & Hotel ★★★
"As a family with 4 teenagers we stayed in Paje Beach Appartments for 11 days. We have enjoyed it só much. The appartment (4p) as well as the hotelroom (3) were as clean and neat as possible. The people working here, at the bar and restaurant, the reception and cleaning service are always very friendly and helpful. The pool is perfect, fresh and always clean. The location is fantastic, directly situated on the white beach, right next to the Buccanneer Diving Centre and Aquaholics Kite & Surf (which we can recomand as well!). Last but not least the breakfast, lunch en diner are also very good. Thank you so much for our great vacation team PBA. We will definately come back ☀️."
Paje by Night ★★★
"This is my second stay in Paje by Night, and I couldn’t be more satisfied! The setting is beautiful, with a fantastic garden full of greenery. The atmosphere is so relaxing….! The beach is only a couple of minutes away, but there is also a very nice pool to relax by…! The food served is of very good quality, but above all very tasty! Most importantly, all the staff is beyond fantastic! From the cleaners, the waiters to the reception staff and the owners, everyone has been an absolute star to make sure our stay was great! Thank you for everything! We will be back!"
Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa - Relais & Chateaux ★★★★★
"A truly beautiful beachfront retreat set along a stunning stretch of powdery white sand, offering exceptional privacy and tranquillity. Our villa was clean, spacious, and exceptionally well maintained, providing a comfortable and luxurious experience. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. The food was excellent throughout our stay, featuring high-quality ingredients and delicious flavours. Breakfast was particularly impressive, with an outstanding selection of dishes. The pastries deserve a special mention—they were among the best we have ever had. While we experienced a few minor hiccups during our stay, they did not detract from the overall experience. The property itself is stunning, and the hospitality extended by the team was warm and greatly appreciated."
Blue Reef Sport & Fishing Lodge and Bungalows ★★★
"Best place to do some fishing and after that eat it. Very friendly staff and cool owners. They help u with anything u need. Beautiful scenery awesome location direct on the beach. The barman antony makes the best cocktails and Robi the girl behind the bar is always smiling. Best value for money. Thank u blue reef."
Bella Vista Resort Zanzibar ★★★★
"Beautiful place, nice people, welcoming staff. Our special thanks go to Kelvin, a very talanted and extremely helpful young man. The restaurant requires attention though. Most of the items on the menu are constantly out of stock. The orders are being mixed/messed up all the time. But if you are not too picky about food the place would be the perfect fit."

"Awesome little hotel with ultra friendly staff centrally located very close to beach and bars 5 min walk to the center paje"
Gadea Boutique Hotel& Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant Adults Only
"We spent two unforgettable weeks at Gadea. Everything was perfect, starting with the welcome we received upon arrival from the owners Annalisa and Davide, who were our go-to for everything. Their staff was always kind and smiling, ready to accommodate every request. The tranquility and peace you experience is priceless. The property and the rooms are truly beautiful, colorful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. If you decide to visit Zanzibar, booking at Gadea is a sure thing."
The One Resort Zanzibar
"Excellent hôtel. Rooms were perfect, staff people were amazing and the food was really good. Nice big pool with some depth in the middle too. Perfect place to rest while visiting the island. No regrets here! Alex and Anouchka"
Coral Cliff Villas
"I had the joy of staying at Coral Cliff Villas for a week, and honestly, it was nothing short of magical. The setting is incredibly serene , perched right by the ocean with the most breath-taking views, peaceful energy, and the kind of stillness that stays with you long after you leave. The food was absolutely delicious, the beach was stunning, and the hospitality was beyond anything I expected. Every detail made me feel truly at home. I loved it so much I’ll be returning soon, and this time with a group! That’s how deeply I trusted and loved the experience. Highly, highly recommended for anyone needing rest, connection, and natural beauty in equal measure."
Fruit & Spice Wellness Resort Zanzibar
"Good location but road in last mile to hotel."
Breezes Beach Club and Spa
"Just the most fabulous hotel. Beautiful room and the most lovely swimming pool. The staff simply can not do enough for you. We had a small plumbing issue in both of the two rooms we were occupying and the issue was immediately attended too and we were all moved to upgraded connected rooms with so many apologies. They hotel also emailed our Travel Agent to alert them of the issue. The way it was so swiftly and carefully sorted out actually says a lot more about this wonderful hotel than any other glowing report. However, the rest is also glowing! The food, menu choices, location. atmosphere and staff. Everything is so gently perfect, sunbeds galore round the pool and on the beach section before the high tide rock defences. The Dive Shop also gets a mention - a wonderful snorkelling trip with breakfast provided by the hotel and freshly prepared fruit on the boat, an excellent Marine Biologist snorkelled with us to point out different fish and provide the names of them and the Star Fish Garden was amazing. All in all the most fabulous, natural looking rustic hotel but at the same time immaculate and modern. Just can't say enough about the hotel and the staff. This is a genuine review in case any one wonders if it is just too good to be true. it really is a special place. Thank you to all at The Breezes."
The Residence Zanzibar
"This hotel was exceptional!! We truly enjoyed our stay as a family of 5, the hotel grounds were breath-taking. To be honest, we couldn’t make much use of the private pool as water was cold. The staff were super friendly. Breakfast options were good, dinner options not as great. Beware of the monkeys as they can sneak in if doors are left unlocked. Would definitely stay there again!"
Kwanza Resort By SUNRISE
"Pros: * Spacious and new rooms with great views. * Friendly and attentive staff. * Well-equipped gym. * Sunset views are just as beautiful as Kendwa's, as it's located in the west. * Very close to Salaam Cave and Pungume. Cons: * The food was just average in my opinion. * There were no activities during the off-season, which was disappointing (I heard there are archery, mini-golf, and herb gathering activities during peak season)."
Amani Paje B&B
"We spent New Year's Eve and the following five days at Amani Paje; what can I say? We couldn't have hoped for anything better. The B&B is simple and intimate (12 rooms in total). You'll feel right at home! The cleanliness is impeccable. The food is excellent: superb breakfast with homemade products and a wide selection. Lunch and dinner are also available; we were also truly satisfied. For New Year's Eve dinner, they treated us to lobster and slipper lobster; everything was simply delicious. The B&B is just two minutes from Paje beach, where you can experience the tidal phenomenon that makes Zanzibar a unique place. To get to the beach, you pass through a village where you can interact with the locals and go shopping because there are plenty of small shops; all in complete safety. Beyond all this, what makes this place special is Anna, the owner, and her staff. People who made us feel welcomed with love, attentive to our every need, and who we will always carry in our hearts. Thank you so much to all of you, we will never forget you! ❤️"
Mandarin Resort Zanzibar
"Beautiful, peaceful breakaway. We received excellent service from everyone at the resort, the accommodation was beautiful with breathtaking views. They were very accommodating even their general manager was eager to assist. We felt like part of the family."
Unguja Lodge
"Our time at the lodge was relaxing and peaceful. We visited between seasons so we six were the only guests which meant we recieved very personalized attention. I can't really comment on the value since it was part of our tour package; however the drink prices are reasonable. While the accommodations are spacious, comfortable and spotless, the food prepared by the team of chefs is truly outstanding. You are offered a wide variety of choices at each meal. Ie. seafood, fish, meat or vegetarian for the main course. Once you have reached sensory overload from exotic Stonetown, Unguja Lodge is the place to recharge yourself. But don't forget to visit the nearby village and interact with the locals. They enjoy sharing a conversation and welcoming you. The people are beautiful and the children delightful."
Reef & Beach Resort - Spa Jambiani
"I would rate the resort 3.5 stars. The location, with a jetty bar on stilts is fabulous; albeit quite remote from the nearest village with facilities. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The spring fed main pool is one of the best I've been in, warm and not chlorinated (tested for bacteria daily). The food was good, without being exceptional and the all inclusive drinks were a little restricted. There was a problem with flies in the pool bar and the main dining room, which could be remedied with a few Insectocutors. The facilities were pretty good, with pool tables and table tennis available, also a kids club. Excursions were pricey if arranged at the hotel, so we arranged ours with local guides easily and much cheaper. The on site shops had some reasonable quality items, again on the pricey side. Our main gripe was with the spa, we booked a 4 massage deal, but my wife was bruised on an aroma therapy massage and felt there was no knowledge of what a lymphatic flush massage should entail; we told the man who arranged it but didn't get a great response. I had one massage, but we didn't take the last one due to lack of confidence in what we would get. It appears to be a training and communication issue. Wifi on site is very erratic and slow, although the Jetty Bar appears to be a bit better signal. We had a nice time and will be leaving well rested. Would I recommend? Not sure."

Babu Villas
"Babu Villas is a serene paradise located right on the beach. I took a solo trip as my husband wasn’t able to make the trip with me. Being alone and having the top floor apartment made me feel an extra level of safety (along with the night security that the property staffs). The staff were a huge part of what makes this property so special. Selina, the property manager, was attentive throughout my stay. Rehema was attentive as well - bringing a refreshing drink along with a cool snack made my day. The chef was amazing too (would make simple foods delicious). I had a lovely massage right in the apartment by a lovely lady from the island. The breeze from the ocean made the massage even more relaxing. Remember this is a tropical area and may have mosquitoes, lizards, and ants. The staff was more than helpful to ensure I had no issues (even reminded me to keep the doors closed when there was no breeze from the ocean). If you’re looking to relax and see real parts of the island, Babu Villas is just the place for you."
Konokono Beach Resort and Isaraya Luxury Overwater Villas
"This hotel deserves special attention, especially for those who would like to have a premium vacation, but are limited in budget. The villas are luxurious, spacious, all privately located with a garden and private pool. You can't see or hear your neighbors. It reminds me of the Maldives, only there such rooms cost thousands of dollars. The territory is large, well-groomed, very clean, it is pleasant to walk along it, those who take care of it deserve a gold medal. The hotel security in the form of Masai warriors is very unusual, it adds its own twist. Panoramic open-air restaurant. The views are stunning. The beach is clean, private, there is no one except hotel guests, the sand is white and soft. The ocean is clean. The time of the ebb and flow of the tide is convenient. The tides are early in the morning and after lunch, when the sun is no longer aggressive. Perhaps there is not such a variety in the choice of dishes, but it is delicious. Freshly squeezed juices for breakfast. The staff may not be as well trained, but this is reflected in the price. And still, a big thank you to them. I really liked it and highly recommend it."
