Kurobe UnazukiOnsen Togen

I made a reservation to enjoy a quiet ryokan in Japan, and the view, room condition, and even the size were perfect. I really liked the fact that they picked me up directly at the station, and both the meal and the bath were perfect. In particular, there are private baths that you pay separately, but there are also small baths that can only be enjoyed by groups of 2-3 people, so it was great to go in between when it wasn't crowded! I was also satisfied with the various amenities and snacks provided inside the hotel, and I think the staff service was also very high level. I've been to various ryokans in different price ranges, but among the ryokans in this price range, the service, room condition, and bath level are very high. I definitely want to visit again. It was fun!

We spent the New Year holidays here. This is my second time at Unazuki Onsen, but my first time staying at this inn. We were delighted with the wonderful location where we could see the Kurobe River from our guest rooms. Dinner is in a private room and breakfast is a buffet. There were so many options on the menu that I was stuffed even though I was full. For dinner, there were many crab dishes, and everyone in my crab-loving family was absorbed in eating in silence. This silence can be said to be a typical feature when eating crab. The open-air bath is blessed with good weather and offers a snow-viewing bath. We've already had the best New Year. I encountered a stink bug this time, so those who hate insects may need to be careful.

Our hotel is 2 minutes by car or 7-8 minutes on foot from Unazuki Onsen Station. The walk from the hotel to the station is uphill, so that's helpful. The entrance of the hotel is in a decent shape, but perhaps due to the coronavirus pandemic, the front desk is poorly constructed and organized, so it takes a while to get directions. However, you can drink free coffee in the waiting area (lobby?). The room was a Japanese-style room, but there were plenty of electrical outlets. Chairs and tables were provided, but the alcove had also been renovated so that people could sit. We used it as a baggage rack. Yukatas were available in large, medium and small sizes, and were used to suit different body types. [Meals] Dinner, Kaiseki prepared by the chef. White shrimp, local fish, and Hokuriku Toyama-like items were lined up, but there were only three thin slices of Himi beef, which I had high expectations for. So I ordered more abalone. Breakfast, two tiers of food? Side dishes were prepared and set on each table. When you are shown to your seat, you will be served rice and miso soup, along with other ingredients to heat up on a trivet. Breakfast is quite voluminous. Is it because there are many people climbing mountains in the morning? [Baths] The men's and women's baths are switched during the night. So, you can enjoy the ``tour of 9 baths'', but each of these baths consists of 4 baths and 1 footbath, for a total of 9 baths. I was a little disappointed because I was thinking about the 9 sources. [Store] There are not many sweets that can be used as souvenirs, so it would be better to buy souvenirs elsewhere.
