We stayed in a suite. **Service:** The staff proactively contacted us before we even arrived. When our originally booked room wasn't available, they promptly arranged an upgrade and an extra bed. Their communication was excellent and very patient. **Facilities:** The suite was very well-equipped, featuring a microwave and a washing machine. The bathroom was exceptionally spacious. We also appreciated the balcony, perfect for fresh air and relaxing with a gentle breeze. **Cleanliness:** Excellent. We didn't find any cleanliness issues during our stay. **Location:** The hotel is centrally located, making it incredibly convenient for dining and shopping. Our suite was very spacious, comfortably accommodating our family of three. **Minibar:** The complimentary mini-fridge included Sprite, Coke, lemon juice, and tamarind juice. We particularly enjoyed that the tamarind and lemon juices were local Yunnan brands – a unique and delicious touch.

It had been 20 years since I last visited Kunming — I was just 7 years old back then. This time, I came back for something truly special: to propose to my girlfriend on Qixi Festival, China’s Valentine’s Day. Given how much this moment meant to me, I wanted everything to be perfect. That’s why I chose the Grand Hyatt Kunming, a brand I’ve always trusted, and booked a Deluxe King Room with Club Access for August 28–30. The first night started well. We stayed on the 26th floor — even though the room was near the elevator, it was surprisingly quiet, and the layout and lighting made it feel warm and comfortable. Everything was off to a good start. But things took a turn the next day — the actual day of the proposal, August 29 — a day I had been planning for a long time. We were given a room on the 24th floor, and from the moment we walked in, I could tell something was off. The layout felt awkward, and the room was noticeably warmer than the night before. I turned on the air conditioning, but it didn’t seem strong enough. I even checked with the hotel staff that afternoon and was told the room was “standard size.” After the proposal (which thankfully went beautifully!), my fiancée and I left the room around 9:00 PM for dinner. Before leaving, we set the AC to 16°C, hoping we’d come back to a cool and comfortable space. But when we returned around 11:30 PM, the room temperature hadn’t improved at all. It was still stuffy, and the bathroom was even worse — no proper ventilation, just heat and humidity. We called the front desk, and two technicians came up. After checking everything, they told us the room was “normal.” I asked if we could switch rooms, but the request was brushed off. They just told us to wait — that it would eventually cool down. By then it was already 2:00 AM. Both of us were completely exhausted and had no energy left to argue. We tried to sleep. But at 8:30 AM, I woke up drenched in sweat — the room still hadn’t cooled down. Honestly, I’m heartbroken by this experience. This day was supposed to be one of the most memorable and romantic nights of our lives. And now, while we will remember it, it’s for the wrong reasons. I never imagined that a stay at a Grand Hyatt, in a room I paid extra for (with Club Access and “Deluxe” in the name), would turn out to be so disappointing. I didn’t come here expecting perfection. But I did expect basic comfort, and at the very least, a response from staff that showed they understood how important this stay was for us. Sadly, that didn’t happen.

We booked the connecting families room with 3 beds (1 double and 2 twin) for 3 adults. Hotel are clean and comfy bed, heard that theres free washing machine but never try out. Just take note that its a building, where u need to access to level 23 for registration (the hotel lobby is there) Also also, one of the room window is not closed am not sure the intention, thus you can hear the car horn from streets (myself is a light sleeper thus cannot sleep so well)

Like a miniature Atour. I primarily chose this hotel for its unbeatable location. It's literally just 75 steps (no exaggeration!) from Exit C of Jiaosanqiao Metro Station, offering incredibly easy access to the airport and major commercial centers. What truly thrilled me was the vibrant local market right outside the hotel; it's well-stocked and very affordable. I picked up some great fruit, and there's a stall inside that sells absolutely delicious shredded chicken – a strong recommendation! Just a short right turn away, you'll also find a Jianshui Water Bamboo Shoot Rice Noodle shop; their water bamboo shoots and mushroom caps are definitely a must-try. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive. They kindly upgraded my room and allowed a late check-out, which I sincerely appreciate. The facilities are comprehensive; although the room wasn't particularly spacious, it had everything necessary. Rooms facing the residential area are exceptionally quiet at night. Complimentary tea and snacks are provided. The shower stall is roomy with excellent water pressure and drainage, and the toiletries were very pleasant to use. While the toilet featured smart flushing, I was slightly disappointed it didn't include a bidet function. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to any friends planning a visit to Kunming.

Overall, I am very satisfied. The environment is simple and elegant, which is my favorite type. The service is good, but what is missing is the prompt response from the WeChat butler. The facilities are also very good and the rooms are large. It is a new hotel after all! Takeaways will also be delivered to the room. Quite close to the subway and shopping malls. The cleaning aunt in the hotel also has a very good attitude. Since I go out a little late every day, the cleaning aunt will wait outside the door before going in to clean the room. It is very heartwarming! I will still choose this hotel next time and my stay is very comfortable.

The hotel boasts an elegant ambiance and brand-new facilities. The attentive and genuinely warm service made our entire stay exceed all expectations. Its prime location offers excellent transport convenience. The rooms were spotless and completely odor-free, providing fantastic value for money – truly highly recommended! The comfortable bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, complemented by excellent soundproofing. The breakfast spread was rich and varied, with quality truly evident in every thoughtful detail.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to Kunming Botanical Garden and next to Yunnan Agricultural University. The environment of the Agricultural University is not inferior to that of the Botanical Garden, with green trees and a good place for walking. Although the hotel is a certain age, it is well maintained and does not feel old at all. It is clean and tidy. The flower arrangements and landscape shapes everywhere are very artistic. The service is also very good. Every employee I met greeted me with a smile. I especially want to praise the housekeeper Xiao Yang. The thoughtful service left us a good impression. He arranged fruit yogurt on time every day and kept asking us if we needed anything. After a day, we seemed to have become old friends. We couldn't help but greet each other enthusiastically when we met, because I felt that Xiao Yang wanted to provide us with better service from the bottom of his heart. This sincerity is something I have never felt in other hotels. In addition, the hotel restaurant is really delicious and highly recommended. For this reason, we stayed for another day.

Having just opened in January, all the facilities are perfect, brand new, and state-of-the-art. I stayed in what they call a 'Smart Deluxe Twin Room,' and I was truly impressed the moment I walked in! It turned out to be a suite with two distinct sections: an inner room with two beds and an outer area with a sofa bed. This setup was absolutely perfect for our family of four, allowing us to have our own space and not disturb each other. The living area featured a mini-fridge and a sink, which was incredibly convenient as we didn't have to step into the bathroom just to wash our hands. Plus, the curtains could be easily controlled with a button right by the bedside. The room was spotlessly clean, and honestly, everything was just perfect.

Good location. Near metro station. Good service. .Counter staffs very courteous and helpful. Provided free breakfast, though very simple breakfast.

Having stayed at this older hotel multiple times over the past two years, I was prepared for its facilities. Its excellent location and decent soundproofing (a common feature in older buildings) have always been its main draw, despite a slight price increase from last year. However, this stay was truly disappointing. The only window in the room that could be opened had significant gaps, and most of its weatherstripping was damaged or missing. Below, on Baita Road, a construction site has been active for over a year, causing loud noise all day, only stopping around 9 or 10 PM. Furthermore, the hotel's air conditioning was practically non-existent during the day, leaving me to choose between a hot room or opening the window to unbearable noise. What's more outrageous, a staff member directly opened my door with a key card without knocking or any prior notice. They then simply closed the door and left without a word or apology. I will definitely not be choosing this hotel again.
