"I booked the pool view villa for almost ₹ 18k a night. the location of the venue is fabulous and the property looks very good on the outside. the mattress in our room was a very old spring mattress which caved in the middle as soon as we slept on it. any movement by a person would shake the entire bed because of which we couldn't sleep properly. my wife slept on a towel in the bathroom on day 2 because the bed was so bad. after the first night, I informed the staff about this and their solution was to put a comforter on top which made it worse. the least you expect from a hotel at this price is a good night's sleep. the food here is too expensive and not worth the money. everything is priced at 5 star restaurant rates but you would find better tasting food at the small stalls around the resort. the breakfast spread was very average and the dinner buffet was horrible. nothing in the buffet tasted good. it was as if the chef didn't put in any effort for the buffet since it is a buffet. the alacarte menu is still better. I would recommend going to places like Zuri or Hokulam for food. their prices are similar and their food is amazing. the staff was very cordial and nice and the location is fabulous but other than that, it's a highly overrated place."

"This was my first trip to India and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays I have been on. As a foreigner I wasn’t sure what to expect but everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, everything was clean, the restaurant have a wonderful selection of authentic Indian food. I have flavours that I have never tasted and on a day to day basis there was so much to do. Me and my friends did so much the 3 days we were there, we went to the meditation and yoga session with Naveen. Naveen is a very nice and calming presence I would recommend going to the meditations and yoga sessions, I was a nice was to relax at the start and end of the day, he recommended books to read and as someone who does not do meditation or yoga he introduced it in a beginner friendly way. I really enjoyed the yoga and meditation a moment to disconnect with the world and connect back to nature I also went to the spa, bird watching, butterfly garden, swimming, eco tour, sunset cruise, cultural program, clay craft, mat weaving, Ayurveda Talk and that’s only naming a few things they had to offer. Very good value for money. One of my favourite activities was going to the lily lake with Vishnu. Vishnu was very kind, accommodating and he can take great pictures as well. He really went the extra mile to help us. He also led the eco tour and it was a great way to understand how the resort remains eco friendly. He was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. Special thanks to our house keeper Angel who make sure our room was in amazing condition and would do these pretty designs on the bed with flower Thank you Remya and Shynima for taking good care of us Also to the tea lady on the boat, this was the best tea I ever had and the snacks you gave each day was delicious I had such an amazing time and would recommend this destination as a place to visit Thank you everyone!!!"

"Often when people rave about a place you end up going there and are a bit disappointed. Not Taj Kumarakom. Despite the highest levels of praise from our friends, we had a truly magical and wonderful experience - made possible by the property and the backwater experiences of course, but most importantly by THE PEOPLE OF TAJ. Starting with Ms Priya, the duty manager, and several other staff - including Suresh Sir (reserved tables for our family even without asking), Alan (knew exactly what we wanted after just one order), Anish, Ajo, Lucy, Fami, Fatima, Seji, Akshaya, Dr Akshara, Malu at the pool, Nitya our yoga teacher, Sachin and Sanjay at the Activity centre, and of course Shadab the GM, the experience is truly magical and you are incredibly well looked after. THE ROOMS are large, spacious, stepping out into the lake. THE FACILITIES are superb, the Ayurveda centre, kayaking, zip lining were all memorable. THE EXPERIENCES are one of a kind. We did the Shikara sunset ride (cannot miss it), the house boat for four hours (wouldn’t recommend overnight stay), evening sunset tea/ coffee, and of course the Ayurveda centre. THE PROPERTY is stunningly beautiful and so well maintained. You will take too many pictures! THE FOOD is wonderful - not only the authentic Kerala cuisine, but also the non Kerala food was top notch. A huge thanks to all at the property but particularly, Priya looked after us incredibly well, took special care of a senior citizen in our party, suggested and booked places and experiences, and overall was the anchor for our stay, making us feel so much at home. Wouldn’t have been the same without her and her colleagues."

Morning breakfast has limited options only, for lunch and dinner you need to book well in advance which is a drawback. No option for deserts except ice cream. Food quality is average. No camp fire and music. Pool was without any attendant. Indoor play area was not maintained like almost closed. So just good room and nothing much overall."
