It miraculously started working at 7 am making us believe that it was switched off just like the kitchen which closes at 9 pm. It was informed earlier but kitchen dinner time needs to be extended beyond 9 pm."

"Atmospheric building, taking you back to the old days. Still it offers all the modern comfort. Well built and nicely decorated with quality items like old maps, paintings etc.. Good location: in the heart of the old city. Busy streets though... The swimming pool is a bit small. It overlooks the harbour. Nextdoor is a jetty: a ferryboat from the fifties leaves there every 15 minutes in black smoke and with a 100 dB noise. They 've turned their menu breakfast into a complex operation: things will come to your table randomly - if."

"We stayed there for 2 nights from 15- 17 April . It was always on our bucket list and I heard a lot about it .we had a lovely stay from Start to end . We checked in @ 8:00 pm We were warmly welcomed with the front office team a lady escorted us i don't remember the names She was very knowledgeable and helpful we were upgraded from Delux to Luxary with a stunning view . Thank you for that. The room was spacious and clean with all amenities in place. We loved the room as special mention to Anoop from House keeping who was our room assistant who was always taking care of our amenities and cleaning . The restaurant had a super ambience overlooking willington Island. Stay @ all the restaurants were fantastic. Special mention to Ajith, Jaimon , Akhilan, Chef Anoop and Subin they are all very well taken care of our food needs and service. Abhay for Bar was superb friendly with great service .Special mention to Chinchu thomas security manager who we met .he helped us with late check out till 2:00 since we had a late evening train as I was travelling with my wife . We had a lovely time . My wife especially enjoyed it this was the best food we ever had in all of taj property. Kanverjeet from the front office who did our billing was quick and helped us for a smooth time .We would love to come back again soon .Thank once again Taj malabar for a lovely time we had and A 5 star to the entire team"

"It is an old colonial building with plenty of character. The public areas are delightful and the pool is good. We had a good room, but limited views - I guess that’s the nature of the building - and ventilation. It was charming, but getting a little tatty round the edges. Breakfast was OK, but we’ve had better for the money we paid. You are located by the Chinese fishing nets in the centre of the old town - a good spot for us to stay."

The thumb got caught between the knob and the gap with the sharp edge of the door frame. Not once multiple times unless extra careful. Similar sharp-edged object in front of TV on which the settop box is placed. Can scrape shoulder and lose skin if you rush. Space between chair and the clothes cabinet too tight for heavy persons. Otherwise, excellent."

"Excellent value for money. Very charming courtyard and restaurant by the water. Superb breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable. Only issue was the shower which sprouted only scalding hot or cold water. Had to ask for a bucket to mix water to the right temperature. Massage was above average. New years eve dinner was reasonably priced and the highlight was the extremely talented singer Jeremiah Rodriguez who kept us entertained for hours. Special thanks to Nisha at the front office who provided us with all the help we needed starting from our communication from a few months before our trip"
