It’s a nice place to stay. It is a way from where there are restaurants etc. there is an in house restaurant. The food needed to be ordered by 4pm, you also had to book in for dinner so the food was ready. Food was ok. The facilities were good. We stayed during a period of renovations which we found out about when we checked in. We were sent a complimentary bottle of wine on a day that was particularly noisy. I think there were more tradesmen renovating than guests. We did notice previous guests had concerns and made recommendations and they had been addressed. The phone numbers in the room didn’t connect when we called. A small jug of water was easily finished, could do with bigger jugs. We only met one staff member, Fish, who was so obliging and honestly did his best. He seemed to have a great deal to do and guests seemed to make him nervous.

The lodge was nice and staff were lovely. However, the lodge lacked basic amenities which I feel they need to improve on. Areas of improvement; - water to be supplied in each bedroom - Phone to call reception should be in each room - Breakfast should include water to drink. Especially if you have booked as bed and breakfast - Snacks should be available throughout the day not just when the chef is there as some guests check in post 2pm.

Probably our favorite place in South Africa! Great views, luxurious accommodation, great food. The host Ryan and Natalie are amazing, and ALL their staff are friendly and helpful. A great place for a romantic getaway! A hidden gem that must be visited if you are passing through Knysna.

Three amazing nights at the Elephant Hide. Excellent accommodation and service of the highest level. Ryan and Natalie were wonderful hosts and always on hand with information on the local area and things to do. Fabulous food available, the breakfast will keep you going most of the day. Highly recommended.

Such a cute place to stay. Beautiful views of the lagoon and rolling hills from our balcony and the large bathroom windows. The room was perfect, the bed so comfortable and the food very tasty. We were only there for two nights would’ve stayed longer if we hadn’t already planned our next stop. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful experience during our honeymoon in here, the room was unique and cozy, the view just amazing and all the staff took care of our pleasant stay. We really like our room with an incredible view on knysna nature. We recommend visiting this place for sure

Great place with super room and fabulous views over the inlet. Johnn the manager was super helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Food and dining room were special, roaring open fire made for a cozy at home feel. The single criticism would be that the bed was rock hard, I know some people like this but not us. Otherwise is a 10/10

One of the best places we have stayed. Room was everything we expected. Breakfast was scrumptious and service was top notch. We will certainly keep this one on our list. Access to the property is easy and close to amenities.
