Pezula Nature Retreat
"As a regular traveller to Knysna but first time guest I was blown away by the facilities and rooms. I have definitely found my new home away from home."
Protea Hotel Knysna Quays
"Amazing stay in Protea Knysna. Very good location on the waterfront. Easy access to food and the waterfront shops! Very safe and hotel is clean and good! Would recommend"
St. James of Knysna
"People were soooo friendly, fantastic breakfast, wonderful and peaceful garden and pool site. Just perfect! Thank you "
The Lofts Boutique Hotel
"service was amazing, our room was perfect, nice and quiet at night. Staff was also friendly and welcoming, cheers to the young man Iviwe there at the front desk."
Villa Castollini
"I needed a luxury getaway for myself. Wow, what a treat. 5 star experience My room is Exquisite with breathtaking views. The place is very private with s complete sense of being cared for, yet no disturbances. This exquisite venue offers total relaxation without falsely boasting fake opulence, as the people, from owners, perfect management and adorable and attentative staff. Peaceful and tranquil with the finest of detail taken care of. I will definitely return again."
The Russel Hotel
"The rooms was what we needed for our stay, breakfast was amazing ,will definitely go back .The service was on point"
Turbine Hotel & Spa
"Hotel and restaurant exceeded all our expectations! Lovely rooms and more than excellent food! You can feel the passion in every dish. Thank you so much for hosting us!"
Crown on the Heads
"We booked a room with a king-size bed and were given a room with a queen-size bed. The room had a lot of hair on the floor and didn't look very clean. The welcome gift as a gold member was also missing. Various items ran out at breakfast and were no longer available. As the hotel only has two rooms with a king-size bed, the owner (Lesego) promised to refund us the difference in the room price. To date, the amount has not been refunded and we have not received a reply to emails or Whatsapp regarding the outstanding refund. This all points to a very dubious management, which is why we can only advise not to book this hotel."
Aha the Rex Hotel
"Really enjoyed my stay at The Rex. The staff were friendly and professional and went the extra mile to make sure my stay was great. The food was superb and the rooms were large and comfortable. I can recommend the The Rex for either business or leisure."

Moncrieff Manor
"This is a unique property on the hill above Knysna. The view of the lagoon all the way out to the ocean is amazing. Most shops and restaurants can be reached by walking, though it is an uphill walk on the way home! Kevin was a wonderful host and provided helpful information on the town, nearby attractions, places to eat, etc. He also prepared huge breakfast plates and even a bottle of champagne because we were there on our honeymoon (he also has a talent for folding bath towels into swans!). You really feel that you have been welcomed into their home, but not in an instrusive way. We would be very happy to stay here again in the future."
Orange Inn Knysna
"They really deserve 5/5 - lovely size bedroom, lounge and kitchen with good quality fittings. Staff are lovely and its in a very quiet area, but still close to all amenities. Will definitely be our first choice on our next visit. Awesome thanks"
Woodlands Self Catering
"What a wonderful 3-night stay...we could have moved in! The thought to detail, views, comfy bed, crisp linen, gorgeous gardens, peace, tranquility and healing...what more do you want when you need a much-needed break and time away to heal. This is a very special place that creates a sense of peace within when the world feels a little too much. We live locally but staying here felt a million miles away which was ideal for a get-away without the long drive! Sometimes you just need a different perspective. "
Knysna Manor House
"What an amazing stay. The rooms are neat and tidy, the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend it, 10/10."
Narnia Guest House
"I had already stayed at Narnia Guest House for 2 nights with a friend in November 2024. It was an unforgettable experience. So I went back there with my husband in March 2025 for 4 nights. I think this is the house with the most beautiful view in Knysna. And with the most beautiful garden. And the sweetest dogs. Very comfortable too. I hope to go back."
Kanonkop House
"Wow, wow wow! Please don’t stay in knysna proper stay here. It’s so easy and affordable to get into town or a quick drive. This property is beyond amazing. Mark and every single person from his team went over and above anything I could have ever expected. They have a lovely bar area with a breathtaking view where you can mingle with other guests or take a glass back to a large comfortable room with lots of space. There is no detailed missed and the food is excellent. We will be back."
Head over Hills
"Faboulos location with spectacular views. The hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment especially for price. Faboulous breakfast. For the price, the hotel rooms are a tad tardy and need to be upgraded. The PVC chairs in our room were peeling, the shower flooring needs regrouting, the layout of our room was very dangerous with pillar in middle of room and having to walk upstairs to bathroom with no ballustrade. Would prefer a toilet that is screened off from rest of the bathroom. The shower door did not close properly resulting in water leaks, the floor tiles were very slippery which made them dangerous. We could not use the bathtub as bath plug had been removed due to water outages. The room lacks a full length mirror which is expected at a 5 star establishment. Definately not value for money due to condition of the hotel rooms."
Premier Resort the Moorings, Knysna
"We had 2 nights there on our Garden Route tour. Rather surprised we got an appartment with 2 large bedrooms upstairs and below a large kitchen, dining place and living room. outside quite a large park going down to the lagoon. The last night we were thankful for the 2nd bed room due to the fact with heavy rain it started to leak into our room and water in the bed !!!!! So we changed rooms and informed the staff upon departure. A nice area - but you need a cadr or taxi to get into Knysna. There is 2 restaurants - one of which is Italian - very good see my review. Nice to avoid the buffets in our opinion"
Headlands House Guest Lodge
"Debby and her team were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay a wonderful experience. We did not want to leave."
African Breeze Guesthouse
"Steve is a very kond guest and his staff is very careful. Facilities are well and nicely equipped and clean. The guesthouse is located in the beautiful leisure islandm Good breakefast"
Hide-Away Guest House
"Lovely host! Great to be given so much of her time and knowledge-made the stay so much better than a faceless hotel where we just get checked in. This is after all a guesthouse and not the Four Seasons! Meant too, that we did not wasted our limited time in the area because what we did was quality. We enjoyed a large room right by the pool with a splendid view. Good toiletries and nice robes! Breakfast a good balance between healthy and holiday treats if you succumb! Although we never had time to use it, the honesty bar and snacks is a great idea. Thank you."
Knysna Log-Inn Hotel
"A unique experience in Central Knysna! Loved the wooden hotel, private balconies, crystal blue pool, and sauna. Will definitely be back. "
Simbavati Fynbos on Sea
"The pillows are the fluffiest ones of the most place to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want to go to whenever you want"
Simola Hotel, Country Club & Spa
"We stayed at Simola on a family trip in 2024 (Easter). It ticked all the boxes and I gave a well deserved 5 star rating. The Pros- the reception and restaurant staff are stellar as ever. I was pleasantly surprised that they still remembered my daughter (they went all out for her birthday in 2024) and they were ready to accommodate us for an earlier check in- thank you. The breakfast buffet is exactly what a 5 star breakfast service should be- delicious, lots of options and attention to detail. So HUGE THANK YOU! These staff deserve a raise. The cons- Unfortunately something has dramatically changed with the quality of the rooms and the cleaning service. We stayed in Unit 6D this time (2 bed suite). The unit was very poorly serviced and maintained. Carpets in the bedroom were damp and musty and had a lingering smell. The master bath had a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SMELL and the cleaning was piss poor. The bathroom had caked up dirt between grout lines and the corners were messy. The window in the toilet has not seen a damp rag in months. It was abysmal (and that is putting it lightly). Given that we were out most days (on a netball tour), I honestly hoped they would do better. Next day, the cleaning napkins were 'forgotten' on the kitchen island with all the grime and stuff. The bed was uncomfortable and barely made properly. It is clear the unit needs a serious upgrade, but what good will an upgrade do if it is not well maintained? If Simola has changed their cleaning staff in the last two years, allow me suggest you reverse that decision ASAP before the entire place is run down! On the whole, I was highly irritated staying at this place."
