Knysna Log-Inn Hotel ★★★★
"The Team where extremely efficient, helpful and professional. The Conference facility offered natural light with a deck leading off the venue which made breaktime very pleasant."
The Lofts Boutique Hotel ★★★★
"Arrived at The Lofts on Thesen Island for a two day stay as part of a 15 night trip around South Africa and we were wowed by this hotel and their hospitality. Thank you Lesley and Mercy and Sirve for your warm welcome and your generous offer of an upgrade ( we are celebrating our 40 th anniversary and my hubbies 70 th birthday). The position of the hotel is right in the centre of this little tourist village that overlooks the estuary. The views are picture perfect and we woke up to the gorgeous views of the lagoon. You can wander around the small village with ease and enjoy a range of cafes , bars and restaurants; you can also enjoy reading about the history of the area too. Take a short walk into the marina and you can enjoy more shops etc and take a boat to the nature reserve. The Lofts breakfast was lovely! Well, the food wherever we have been has been absolutely delicious. Nevertheless, the staff in the restaurant were very friendly, polite and lovely to chat to. Thank you everyone at The Lofts for making our time with you memorable!"
The Russel Hotel ★★★
"The room was quite spacious for three adults. It had one large double bed and two single beds. The bathroom was very large. Breakfast was à la carte. The location was excellent, close to the town center."
Brenton on Sea Cottages ★★★★
"Brenton on Sea Cottages are beautifully maintained; everything was so neat and clean. I have never visited a holiday resort/cottage where the gardens were so neatly maintained. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time."
Protea Hotel Knysna Quays ★★★★
"Amazing stay in Protea Knysna. Very good location on the waterfront. Easy access to food and the waterfront shops! Very safe and hotel is clean and good! Would recommend"
Hide-Away Guest House ★★★★
"Lovely host! Great to be given so much of her time and knowledge-made the stay so much better than a faceless hotel where we just get checked in. This is after all a guesthouse and not the Four Seasons! Meant too, that we did not wasted our limited time in the area because what we did was quality. We enjoyed a large room right by the pool with a splendid view. Good toiletries and nice robes! Breakfast a good balance between healthy and holiday treats if you succumb! Although we never had time to use it, the honesty bar and snacks is a great idea. Thank you."
Orange Inn Knysna ★★★★
"They really deserve 5/5 - lovely size bedroom, lounge and kitchen with good quality fittings. Staff are lovely and its in a very quiet area, but still close to all amenities. Will definitely be our first choice on our next visit. Awesome thanks"
Turbine Hotel & Spa ★★★★★
"We booked the Honeymoon Suite, room 205. The icemaker has not been cleaned. The water inside was yellow. Needless to say: we did not try make any ice. Our room was not cleaned thorougly. The shelf on top of the kitchenette had a thick layer of dust on it. The shower was black with mould. The laminated wood panel underneath the basin had water damage. The panel was swollen from dampness and pieces of the laminate had broken off. No face cloths were available. Usually all 5 star establishments has face cloths as a standard item. The breakfast, was just ok. Nothing special as one would expect of a 5 star hotel. The passage carpet was dirty. The rugs in the rest of the hotel not clean. The furniture needs replacement. Most pueces are worn. We travel abroad twice per annum. This hotel should be rated 3 star. The rates charged at Turbine is ridiculous for what you get. This hotel needs a full upgrade. The staff is super friendly though."
Pezula Nature Retreat ★★★★★
"Stay 10 out of 10 Food 10 out 10 Staff service 10 out 10 Views and Pools 10 out of 10 Was my Wifes birthday and we had a really nice time at Pezula Nature Retreat To all staff we will miss you and thanks for making us feel special in our stay. "

Pili Pili Beach Cabanas
"Large rooms, well furnished. With a wide veranda to sit. Nice view of the beach and ocean. No communal kitchen but lovely restaurant downstairs. "
Brenton on the Rocks
"The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The villa was spacious, very clean, well equipped, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer and will look to return. "
Brenton Haven Beachfront Resort
"We truly enjoyed our stay with them. Our unit was beautifully laid out and spacious with the most spectacular views of the ocean. It combines a relaxed holiday feel with luxury and comfort. Smelling the ocean and hearing the waves makes you forget about everything else and keeps you captured in the moment. The staff are really friendly and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at their stunning restaurant. I would definitely recommend a stay with them. Monique Botha"
South Villa Guesthouse&Garden
"It was my yearly January holiday that we take with my husband to explore the areas we don't know, in our beautiful South Africa "
Kanonkop House
"Had a wonderful 3 night stay at Kanonkop. Mark & Adele were perfect hosts, attentive, friendly and fun. They also organised a Braai one evening during our stay, which was excellent. The room was fabulous with stunning views over the lagoon and down to the ocean. We loved the "help yourself bar", although the staff were always around to help :) They had thoughtfully made a reservation at a local restaurant for us on our first night so we were covered. We will definitely return!"
St. James of Knysna
"The hotel was clean, spacious and had amazing views. Breakfast was good and had a lovely view of the lake. They even provide a complimentary boat ride. Can't fault it. Definitely worth going. "
Thebloem Guest Suites by Knysna Paradise Collection
"This was our third time staying at this wonderful guesthouse. This time we stayed for six nights. It's like coming home. A fantastically beautiful suite (No. 1), perfect service from Constance, Jossy and the whole team, and a very tasty breakfast. The service is characterised by warm cordiality, combined with the desire to fulfil guests' wishes as far as possible. For us, it is the best hotel in the world, and we certainly stay in the world's major 5-star hotels. Thank you to the wonderful owner Bianca – you really do everything right! We love coming back again and again."
Simola Hotel, Country Club & Spa
"A wonderful stay at the superb Simola. Excellent staff, food and facilities. Will be back again next year."
Headlands House Guest Lodge
"Debbie and her team are fantastic and we always stay here when in Knysna. The location and views are spectacular, and the two best restaurants in Knysna are just down the hill. We were fortunate enough to watch whales breaching outside the Heads back in September. Breakfasts are the best, again with a great view and excellent service. The rooms are clean, tidy and beautiful. I recommend Headlands House to all my friends visiting Knysna."
Premier Resort the Moorings, Knysna
"Dreadful. House keeping shocking. Beds uncomfortable and worst of all when loadshedding kicks in for two hours the noisiest generator kicks in right by the rooms. Last night from 8-10 and then 2-4 in the morning. Zero sleep. What about the families with young kids. Breakfast very poor. Service acceptable but warm beers are not."
Oyster Creek Lodge
"This place is now called Oyster Creek Lodge, and looks terrific on the web, with a gallery of photos that sadly no longer reflect the lodge as it is today. The original owner has sold it to a Cape Town company, who have no hands-on interest in its upkeep and/or maintenance. The lodge is located well, outside Knysna, but needs a general upgrade to keep it at the top of the star gradings. As a self catering lodge, it contains most of what one is accustomed to finding in such an establishment, but not top of the range equipment. It is totally dependent on mains power, so the load shedding schedule affects your ability to eat in. Fortunately we had our own load shedding lamp, as only one was available in the room. No gas cooker, no aircon, no overhead fan, no cushions on the outside chairs, no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries and toothbrushes, and only a very uncomfortable and low couch inside for relaxing on. What had promised to be a great stay, ended up being a bit of a disappointment. We are unlikely to return for another visit."
47th on Howard
"Comfortable stay with chrissie and her staff looking after us. Nothing too much trouble. Clean pool. Large room with balcony to sit on. Plenty of parking. Air con in room. Comfortable beds and great breakfasts "
