The Kauai Inn ★★★
"Very nice scenery"
Sheraton Kauai Resort ★★★★
"It was a very good vacation experience. Every employee in the restaurant and guest rooms was extremely enthusiastic and friendly. Members received a free room upgrade. The food in the restaurant was good and the whole family liked it. We will continue to stay here next time."
THE ISO HOTEL, Trademark Collection by Wyndham ★★★
"Just putting this here hope it helps others Breakfast is grab n go, which means there's a pantry consisting of packaged muffin, cereal box, pastry, packaged milk just packaged everything. some fruits if you're early. Pls note if a hot cooked breakfast is important to you. There's also a resort fee to cover bike rental, yoga class, and a water bottle (that we didn't end up using). The resort is lovely and bathroom is clean. Nice view of ocean from the room but the beach is not v swimmable."
Aston Islander on The Beach ★★★
"It's not what it seems. It is a hotel that has very good things and others not so much. When we arrived we were given a room with a double bed and a sofa bed. We had booked a twin room and were told this was Trip's problem. That they only guarantee the views. All the furniture is wooden and very old. The old sofa, with a thin mattress and perforated sheets... Finally the next day we were changed to a room with two beds (and sea view) which was much better. However, the furniture was also old. It is advertised here that the cleaning of the room is daily but it is not true. They clean only one day for stays of at least 5 nights. If you are staying less than a few days and you want the room to be made for you, 50 USD. If you want clean towels, 10USD. The hotel does not have elevators, so you have to carry your bags up the stairs to the room (on the floor you are on). Just arriving they charge you 147.45USD in taxes (amenity fee, ta tax, ge tax, county ta tax...). Good: Prime location, in front of (private) beach, with restaurants, supermarkets and shops next door. The main road is right there. Swimming pool with hammocks and a bar (opens at 3pm). There is a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave in the room."
Kauai Palms Hotel ★★
"Overall it was an okay experience if not for the small cockroach on the bed."
Sheraton Kauai Resort Villas ★★★★
"This was the best hotel we stayed at during our trip, and also the most expensive at over $4000 a night! The environment, service, and facilities were all top-notch. Free parking and an unbeatable view were major pluses. The room came with a washing machine, dryer, electric stove, microwave, and a complete set of kitchenware and dishes. This was a wonderful surprise for us, as there really aren't many good food options on Kauai. We bought some groceries at the supermarket and cooked several meals ourselves, which was great. It saved us a lot of money and even cured our 'Chinese stomach'! If the price were closer to $1000 a night, I'd happily stay here for a whole month."
Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection ★★★★
"Best spot on the island. Beautiful, clean room and customer oriented, friendly staff. Loved our stay!"
Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay ★★★
"It's close to the airport, the beach is right in front of you, there's parking, and it's conveniently located for shopping and sightseeing."
OUTRIGGER Kaua'i Beach Resort & Spa ★★★★
"Beautiful hotel, beautiful room, beautiful swimming pool, the people working at the bar are very pleasant however disappointment at the reception level (not all of us agree) but when you pay that much you expect more consideration and kindness, it's a shame, For the explanation, my French blue card does not pass with their strip reading system (message stating insufficient balance) except that the day before another person allowed me to insert it and make my code and as if by magic It works in fact I made purchases in town right after with this famous card. Bad luck, I had a bad trip, I was planning to come back at the end of my trip but it clearly put me off."

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa
"Beautiful Grounds and Great Staff, but Far Below Expected Standards for the Price We visited the Grand Hyatt Kauai with high expectations, given its reputation, beautiful location, and the premium price tag (often $800+ per night plus resort fees). To be fair, the staff throughout the property is truly lovely and very friendly—their warmth and hospitality were a clear positive during our stay. The tropical setting and expansive pool landscape are also undeniably stunning. However, the overall experience, cleanliness, and service efficiency were unacceptable for a resort in this price category. During our stay, we encountered issues: Long Wait Times: Expecting guests who pay nearly $1,000 a night to stand in long lines every morning at 9:00 AM just to get a breakfast table is completely unacceptable. Dining & Hygiene: Wet plates and glasses with heavy limescale buildup, showing a clear lack of quality control in the food and beverage department. Pool & Public Areas: Sun loungers were frequently covered in bird droppings, and tables around the pool were left uncleaned. Garbage from other guests sat in the hallways, and the guest laundry facilities were in a deplorable state (malodorous washing machines and discarded clothing left lying around). Hallways & Maintenance: The carpets in the corridors are visibly stained and worn out. We even noticed exposed electrical sockets in public areas, which is a clear safety concern. Room Condition: Our room showed some signs of a maintenance backlog. The shower was covered in limescale, and the toilet had an unpleasant odor throughout our stay. Despite the wonderful employees, we felt like we paid luxury prices for budget-level maintenance, poor upkeep, and crowd management issues. Until a proper renovation and stricter quality controls take place, we cannot recommend this hotel at its current price point."
Hilton Vacation Club the Point at Poipu Kauai
"Very family friendly"
Plantation Hale Suites
"A nice hotel close to the beach and a local market with bars, restaurants and supermarket. The location is pretty good. The room was clean and spacious. There were also some pools and hot tub, and also a place for a barbecue."
Marriott's Kaua'i Beach Club
"It's rather old. The main issue is that the photos make it seem like there's a sofa and a bed, but the bed is actually a pull-down wardrobe bed with the sofa cushions removed. The air conditioner is very loud, and the sea view is obstructed."
Koa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach
"Beautiful location close to the beach. First room we were shown was extremely dark so we asked to change to a different one that didn't require to have the lights on during the day. Restaurant was decent, bed was comfortable. The one time we wanted to spend some time by the pool there weren't any chairs left, so would advise to go early to secure a spot."
The Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort Lihue
"The room was fine, very clean, needed cleaning, called for toiletries, and the service was good. The swimming conditions were excellent, the beach had small waves, the pool was large and the water was warm, and the food by the pool was good. The only downside was that the sea view room could only see the bay, not the distant sea. In short, it was a good choice for vacation."
1 Hotel Hanalei Bay
"A true paradise! Incredible views from both the lobby and the room! The food selection in the poolside restaurants is limited, but the quality is very good! The spa is gorgeous and the treatments are incredible! I definitely recommend the traditional Hawaiian massage!"
Marriott's Kauai Lagoons - Kalanipu'u
"We are MVC owners and usually take a yearly trip to Ko Olina on Oahu with our daughter and her family. We decided to try something different this year and booked a 3 bedroom unit at Kauai Lagoons. We were a little apprehensive about the lack of on-site restaurants and no beach access, but as we finish up our week here, everyone agrees that it is one of our favorite vacations ever! Our grandchildren (ages 10, 11 and 11) loved the pool, even though it is small. It was never crowded (over Spring Break!) and we were always able to find shaded lounge chairs. There is a fun little slide. It was like having our own private pool much of the time. There were fun kids’ activities and an activity room next to a very good gym, with a pool table and ping pong. We had a ground floor unit with sliding glass doors that opened completely, so the kids could spill out onto the lawn and play. There were lounge chairs and a table on the generous lanai and BBQ grills just across from our unit. Nice walking trails with lots of wildlife and beautiful tropical plantings. The 3 bedroom unit is extremely spacious, with a gourmet kitchen, 3 bedrooms with king beds, 3 bathrooms, comfortable seating and even a separate laundry room. Tasteful tropical furnishings and artwork. The staff was very welcoming and responded to our every need. We were able to park our car right outside the unit, which we found way more convenient than waiting for a valet to retrieve our car. The resort is only minutes from the airport and shopping. We spent one day at the Kauai Beach Club, just down the drive, on day passes, so we could use their huge pool and spend some time at the beach. The beach is public, so if you don’t care about lounge chairs and umbrellas, there is lots of shade on the grass under he trees. All in all, this was one of the nicest MVC properties we have stayed at, and we plan to make this resort a “regular” on future vacations to Hawaii! We absolutely loved it!"
Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort
"The facilities are very old, probably because it is too close to the sea. The room is very damp, and the bedding is damp. There is a musty smell when you enter the room. I asked if there are dehumidification or drying facilities, but there are none. I asked if I could change to a less humid room, but I refused. The bed was very damp at night and it was very uncomfortable."
The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas
"This hotel is fantastic! It's a villa-style hotel with everything you could need in the room: a washer and dryer, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, a kitchen, and a dishwasher—very convenient. The environment is also great, the pool and hot spring are nice, and the restaurant service is excellent. The food selection is average, but that's typical for white people, I guess. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, and I really enjoyed the hotel."
Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club
"My crew & I recently spent a week at this vacation club. We really enjoyed the time and found everyone at the hotel team to be helpful and quick. As 4 adults, we found the place spacious , well equipped kitchen and loved the balcony. The grounds, garden and pools were really nice and well kept. A couple of times we texted for trash pick up and towel refreshes and the team was there in 10 minutes or less. Jose was super helpful. The hotel beach was nice, we rented an umbrella one day to get some shade. Poipu beach is just a short walk away and there were sea turtles! Lei making class was a fun activity to kick off the vacation. I would say good choices were pretty limited at the hotel and we went out or cooked in the room for most meals. I would recommend this location to others seeking a great place to stay in Kauai."
Club Wyndham Ka Eo Kai
"Since it was a trip for three women, we were hoping for three beds, but it was two beds and a sofa bed. That was a bit disappointing, but it was spacious and comfortable. The laundry facilities were also a great help."
Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa Kauai by Outrigger
"Could've had vending machines available with water, soda and cookies. Other than that everything was wonderful."
Hanalei Colony Resort
"The hotel doesn't do housekeeping every day, but everything you need is provided. Very convenient, and I especially liked their bath towels. They're even better than some five-star hotel towels. I saw a rainbow this morning! 🌈"
The Lodge at Kukui'Ula
"We had an amazing stay! Highly recommend for couples and families. Right when we arrived, we both said we wish we were staying longer! The unit was equipped with everything. The clubhouse was beautiful. Two restaurants on-site. The pool was amazing! The spa was the best (the cold plunge is a must)! Rented bikes, they offer half-day, full-day and weekly rates. Staff were really friendly. The ONLY con is that the beach is a few mins away (not walkable). Other than that, amazing stay and everything we expected and more!"
Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences
"This resort is pricey, but you get what you pay for. The service, overall facilities, and rooms are amazing. The restaurant had some of the best food we ate on our visit. This resort feels so private and luxurious! We stayed with our family of 8 (adults, young adults, and one teenager) and everyone had an amazing experience! I would stay here again. Some people have mentioned the airport noise and helicopter tours flying overhead in their reviews, but we weren't that bothered by it. Maybe it's because we live near an airport. I loved waking up to an ocean view every morning, and we had a beautiful four-bedroom unit with a private plunge pool that was exactly as pictured on the website. The resort offers quick access to the airport and other island activities."
