Shell Vacations Club Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy

Very spacious and well maintained rooms. Right next to beach, restaurants and vista points. We enjoyed our stay here.

Price matched request was ignored by Trip.com even after repeated email with the evidence where the other booking site showed lower price vs the price that i booked a week prior. After calling to the hotel manager Jennifer to request for assistance and follow up emails, there is simply no responses back. Very disappointed on the outcome where the advertised price match promise is just a gimmick

Stayed for 4 nights. Its a great place to base yourself. Rooms are decent size and has small kitchen if you dont want to eat out all the time. It has a great shop community with an abc store. Eateries. Really good location. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because its the first time i have experienced being told that they dont make the 3rd bed we requested for my son. Its a sofa pull out. But no pillows sheets or bedding provided initially and they said maids dont make the bed. *** !! Anyhow. That was a first ! We eventually got the bedding and we made ourselves. But they let themselves down here. Apart from the check in process. Everything else was fine.

DO NOT GO HERE. (we did get one day refunded to us, still not enough fro what it cost us) We checked in later in the day 8ish. We were told the concierge has some passes for us. Thinking we needed these to use the pool or things around the property we came back in the morning, she was still not in. We went out and started our back day in Hanalei. There the concierge called us and asked us to drive the 45 min back to which we said no. She then said we needed to get back by 5 (when she left) for the passes. The kids did want to do the pool and stuff. So we cut our Hawaiian vacation day short to come back for these passes. When we arrived we found out they were just wrist band room keys, no passes, no anything. She only wanted to sell us a time share. She would not take no for an answer and when she finally gave up threw the wrist bands our way without explaining anything. We saved for this trip for a year. This is a once in a lifetime trip for my family that was cut short for a sales pitch, backed by this resort. This left a black cloud over the rest of our trip. The manager did give us a refund for a day. But this really left us in a place we no longer wanted to stay, we could not afford to go somewhere else. It just stinks, we don't get to do this all the time, and to be treated like that just stinks. The manager was a nice man who seemed to understand. Go somewhere else, have a good vacation without pushy sales cutting your day short. The rooms were not great, furniture and beds very uncomfortable, saw a couple bugs, overall nothing I would write a review about. But this was a terrible experience.

She is relentless. Just say no to everything and don’t answer the room phone. She’s extremely pushy and will try to manipulate you into doing the presentation. The wrist bands aren’t worth her scam just use the regular room key. Rooms are somewhat clean? but very old and worn down. The shower and AC had mold growing in it and the water pressure was poor. However, it is conveniently located and luckily we were running around all day to even be there. The room was beautiful for 2008 when the timeshare scam was at its peak.

This was our first time staying at the Beach Boy and we loved it. The rooms are a little dated but the beautiful property and location makes up for that 10x over for us. The bed was super comfy. The grounds are spectacular and we love the location on the island as it is easy to go north OR south from here. If you want a spectacular unit this probably isn’t the place for you but if the grounds of the resort are important you will love it!
