5 star experience. Rooms are spacious and well-designed. Hotel felt very new and clean. Food trucks at night outside the hotel took away any stress on quick dinners.

I took my wife to Hawaii for our wedding anniversary and had a great trip but the hotel left a lot of frustration for us. We are just finishing up our stay and I will say I am disappointed with a lot when it comes to this hotel. First off we have been Marriott bonvoy rewards members for years. When we checked in we were told that since we used Travelocity to book we couldn't add our rewards to this stay. Nothing told us while we were booking that we would be denied of this. That led to no perks for the trip. $40 a day parking ate into our funds for the trip. The lady that checked us in said parking could be comped if we had booked with them and added our rewards but can't! Also I asked for late check out because our flight doesn't leave until later in the afternoon and was told that since we used a third party booking they could not. Next disappointment is the housekeeping. We were here for 5 days and they never came to clean our room! We had to go to the desk and ask for towels, this should never happen as a guest. My wife does dialysis and needs a clean room to do that in... Everyday we had to clean our own room before she could do this and yes, we let the front desk and the housekeeper on our floor know about this request. They said they would clean for us but never came! The breakfast staff were the highlight they were very attentive and friendly. The rooms were nice looking and the bed was comfortable. I am very sad that our rewards with Marriott were null and void because we used a third party to book. I had read quite a bit about parking being comped with rewards and to be told no because of my booking choice is unacceptable. Having to pay for parking is one thing but the loss of points for our stay and housekeeping never coming to our room makes me feel a certain way about staying at Marriott ever again. I don't know that I will continue to support Marriott after this stay.

The pool is next to the street. In the evenings, you will have food trucks and their music competing for your attention. At weekends, you will have functions for local folk with ear splitting music and seemingly limitless alcohol. DO NOT under any circumstances accept a room on the first for second floor. The noise of these events and the attendees will ruin your sleep. With its useless pool, lack of dining options (food trucks aside), and excessive catering to folks of the local persuasion, the hotel has figured out it cannot charge a resort fee. Fear not, dear readers: the resort fee is the $40 parking per night. This is not gated, secure parking. It’s open season parking. You cannot park when there is an event, as the locals will have all the parking spaces. You cannot walk to your car the next morning without being watchful for broken corona beer bottles from the night before. The parking fee is a scam of the highest order. And it’s not as if the hotel staff are friendly. They are resentful, unhelpful and really quite lazy. When you ask for something, it will either definitely not be done and when you follow up, it will be clear the front desk totally misunderstood what you asked. Because they were not paying attention. You will see some responses to complaints from a hotel manager called Paul Mutu. Think a hotel manager would wear a coat and tie or a catchy Hawaiian shirt. Nope. Basketball shorts, a stained t-shirt and the empathy and customer service skills of…..someone who is too busy making sure his people are taken care of and the mainland guest ignored. So, there you have it. Stay away from this place.

Take it or leave it, no Aloha
Our stay was terrible, no hospitality. The staff were rude and inhospitable. The furniture was broken and they refused to replace it or compensate us. They were not willing to compensate us and only offered things that would be inconvenient and make our stay even worse.
They were not even going to replace the broken piece of furniture after we checked out. Hoping the next occupants would not notice it broken.
