My husband and I went for an a half board 1 week holiday in the October half term. We paid extra to have our room upgraded to a swim up pool so when my daughter (just over 2) was having a nap or sleeping we had a decent balcony/ outside area. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good and there was a shop on site for snacks, water and general bits and bobs. The pool area was clean and there were plenty of beds to go around. A selling point of the main pool for us was it was a walk in so my daughter could play at an appropriate depth. There was a child’s pool as well off to the side which was a bit quieter. However the pool was NOT heated, it was freezing. It also advertises and indoor pool this is a small jacuzzi and only available if you are paying for spa treatment. The kids club is the day was nice you could choose to leave your kids in there but we didn’t, they still allowed us to sit in while she played. Their kids party in the evening was due to start at 8pm which we thought was late and it often didn’t start until 8.30 if at all. As I mentioned we paid extra for a swim up pool to our room. The room we were in did have a swim up pool but due to the time of year there was never any sun on the pool so it was too cold to get in especially with my 2 year old. The drop from the outside area was also very steep, we did have ladders for us to us The biggest let down for us was the food and the service at breakfast and the evening times. Often there was no tables clean and cleared of food/ plates so we had nowhere to sit. When we did eventually find somewhere or move some plates we then had to find cutlery. There were waiters about but never very helpful and often passed me from one person to the next when I just needed some forks. There were never any glasses left for drinks. The breakfast was a sea of eggs, scrambled, poached, fried, scrambled with cheese. Never any variety with the breakfast. The dinner service was just as disappointing. Waiters would often not come over to ask us for drinks, despite us calling for them or asking them politely if we could order, this was after we could find a table. Food was poor and again lacked variety. Overall the hotel was clean, the pool was good if you don’t mind it freezing, the views were good and bus/ taxi into the town was located just outside. However the poor food and service at breakfast and dinner really put us off and not what we expected at a hotel with this rating. We wouldn’t go back aga
